    i have my torque pro app . got a POA80 code on my prius 2012. when driving , all my modules show 15.5 and all go up to 17.8 V. during active driving. is there a way to check and detect a bad cells with torque pro app , not taking out whole battery and load testing it ? when the engine stops ,and AC is on , how fast must the voltage drop ? till what number ? 13 V or lower ? what is the normal drop rate in this case, when AC is on , on neutral with engine off ?

      Here is a link to my load testing video: th-cam.com/video/D9ibm221xuM/w-d-xo.html

      The paid version of Dr. Prius is much better than Torque Pro. In Dr. Prius, there is a red record button. Click it and let it run for at least a minute. Click the record button again to stop it and then email a csv file to yourself which you can open up in Excel. This tracks all of the block voltages, resistance, amps charged (-) and discharged (+). Copy the 14 block voltages to another set of cells and use a formula to divide the block voltage by 2. Use the Excel "Conditional Formatting" feature to fill colors in the cells when the voltage is in various ranges. The range 8.58 to 8.65 is green (max charge). Greater than 8.64 volts is overcharge (red). Between 8.15 v and 8.58 v is orange (moderately fully charged). Between 7.2 v and 8.15 v is yellow. Between 6.7 v and 7.2 v is blue. Below 6.8 v is purple. Color coding the cells will show you patterns of what is going on. Note: there is very little need to discharge below 6 volts. I have noticed this hurts the battery performance. In the csv file, there is a column that shows MPH and another that shows amps being charged (negative) or discharged (positive). This gives you a good idea of what is going on in the battery and can pinpoint a bad block. PS... you will still need to take the battery cover off to test the voltage of individual modules.

    Ok, and then what? What is one looking for? One cell might hold up its voltage for a minute under load while another drops dramatically for the same length of time? Can you explain further?

      That is correct and the very definition of a battery load test. While not critical to load each module for the exact same time, they should be close.

    What wattage bulb should be used for this?

    • @ZookeeperJohnG
      @ZookeeperJohnG  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      12-18watts, anything under 30 would likely work. th-cam.com/video/D9ibm221xuM/w-d-xo.html

    How many amps does the light bulb draw?

      1-3 is fine, I just did another where I explained it: th-cam.com/video/D9ibm221xuM/w-d-xo.html

    How do you make the load tester

    • @ZookeeperJohnG
      @ZookeeperJohnG  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used an old tail light bulb from a car, almost any car, truck, or van light bulb would work, but the brighter they are the shorter the time they should be connected so as not to overly discharge the module.

    Is that a 12-volt bulb?

      Yes, 12v #3156

      @@ZookeeperJohnG Thanks. I used a load tester on mine. What are your thoughts on that?

    • @ZookeeperJohnG
      @ZookeeperJohnG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That should give accurate results as long as the load is not too high.

    Could of showed a bad cell too.
