Thank you Qroo Paul. After binge watching about 6 lessons of your beginner series, today, I found myself in a situation with a customer and his son would only speak Spanish. The most important information for me know from them was whether they wanted the product. Once I knew that much their request could quickly be fulfilled. An innate, maybe a learned or nurtured, characteristic to help with your method of 'teaching', almost instinctively lead to me saying '¿no lo quiero?'. I realized after it was all done that i used the wrong conjugation. But it was enough as the dad replied 'si quiero' or maybe he said sí lo quiero. I know I heard sí and quiero. I'm still analyzing the situation and will ask ¿Lo quieres comprar? next time or maybe I'll use the . . . puedo servir phrase -im sure I'll get a response I won't comprehend (I won't even be able to repeat it). In this situation I bypassed my internal manners to address the dad formally and just went with what was on the tip of my tongue. He gave my a smile and a thumbs-up, from across the room, as they finished their transaction. Imagine that: You are enabling and are 'involved' in so many sparks of communication and assistance when you are not physically there. I don't know if you think of it that way. It's awesome. All the best to you and yours. Thanks again
This is awesome! Yeah pauls channel has helped me far greater than any app or other videos and stuff. Took awhile to grasp it for external reasons in myself but I'm getting the hang of it 😆 I've found that spanish speaking people do appreciate the effort and lord knows i try 😆 keep it up friend

I have grown accustomed to saying, "I'm going to go wash hands." It just seems obvious to me that I'm not washing anyone else's hands but my own. So I think I could find a way to wrap my head around how Español put those kinds of sentences together, concerning body parts and clothing. Extremely grateful for your content sir, I really hope you continue making videos.

Hi Qroo Paul, I just wanted to tell you how impressive your teaching skills are, I have been in the corporate world for more than 2 decades now, serving North American clients, and have had tons of lecturers or trainers but you have shown me the most effective and efficient way of conveying the message most straightforwardly. I'm on lesson 6 now and I feel like I learned everything I have watched so far, well, had to watch it over and over again tho for familiarization. I watched this video and gave it a like. For people with less experience than me I want to let them know that the techniques that Paul is teaching you are very valuable. Essentially all you need to do is learn a few "mega verbs" and you can go a long way only knowing how to conjugate a few verbs because the second verb is not conjugated. What I really like about this video is it uses the method of active listening. You are constantly pushing us to extend what we know based on the use if set patterns and forms. You ask us to pause the video if we need more time. This gives a chance to think. Also very cool is that you give us the words we need in the construction. I would also observe that if someone just stumbles on this lesson it was pretty much self contained. We don't have to go back and listen to five other videos to follow-up the concepts given in this lesson. Great screen layout! Also good looking lighting set up. This was a great video Paul. I want to watch all of them in this series starting from the beginning and look forward to watching the lessons as they get more advanced step by step. Oh and one more thing. I really learned about how to use the verb doler. It reminded. me a lot of gustar and encantar and the other verbs that work this way. great job.
Hi Eric. Thanks for watching the video and for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback. It's funny that you mentioned gustar and encantar, I cover those in Lesson 7. It was nice of you to notice the lighting. That is one of the more challenging aspects of making videos. I bought a great lighting kit that has been a real game-changer for me.

Good video! Just one thing, when you were explaining how we say in spanish Me duele el ojo, Me duele la mano, and you translate literally, you said My hand is hurting to me but it should be The hand is hurting to me, and The eye is hurting to me or The eye hurts me, and, like you said before, it does sound really awkward in English but it's how we say it in Spanish
Good lesson! I l've made some mistakes, but it could've been because i didnt practise. However thank you for these videos, these are really helping me out!
I was little confused as to why your own leg isn't a possessive Mi, but me, but have it due to the wording, thank you Paul! Your lessons are a great😁help.
Enjoyed this lesson, Paul. I still sometimes find the Spanish language a bit fast when I hear people talk but I guess I could ask Puedes hablar lento, por favor? My girlfriend says after 3 months I am doing very well for just self teaching through this and duolingo, I just need more vocabulary
Thanks for this lesson! I'm having a hard time knowing when to use possessive pronouns verses DO pronouns. Do your have any videos on how to conjugate verbs? If not do you have any recommendations?
Qroo, can you explain why you used están when saying where are YOUR keys? What is the rule there? You would say. . .Dónde está tu carro? Correcto? Por qué, están con llaves?
I can't remember which of your videos mentions a site that helps with conjunctives. You said it's to help Spanish speakers but those who are learning Spanish can benefit from the site too. Please, tell me what the site is.
Maestro.....a question of style. When asking someone if they can help me with (a noun), would it also be correct to answer as follows: "me puedo ayudar con la carro?" Si, puedo te ayudar? or Si, puedo ayudarte? The choices can confuse me at times. Thank you!
Hi Gary. You can put the object pronoun (me, te, le etc) before the conjugated verb or attached to an verb in the infinitive further down the line. Those are the only two options: ¿Puedo ayudarte? ¿Te puedo ayudar? ¿Me puedes ayudar con el carro? ¿Puedes ayudarme con el carro?
I've been watching from the first video in this series (which was excellent and made me feel very optimistic) but starting to get a bit confused now... I've gone back over some of the previous videos. Do I need to work out what all the grammar terms mean to move forward do you recommend? I know what a verb and adjective is but beyond that it all gets a bit mysterious!
No, you don't have to work out the English grammatical terms. I mention them to help identify groups of words in Spanish. I repeat them over and over, so chances are you'll get more comfortable with them in time. For example, when i say indirect object pronouns, I'm referring to a list that you should learn together (me,te,le,nos, les) think to me, to you, etc. Me gustan las fresas. Strawberries are pleasing TO me. (I like strawberries). Le gustan las fresas (the strawberries are pleasing to him/to her).
Its hard to think as 'me gustan las fresas' as 'strawberries are pleasing to me' as that seems to be literally back the front! The word order looks like 'me (me) like (gustan) the (las) strawberries (fresas)'. Similarly at @ 18.14 of this video isn't it literally in English "me hurting the chest"? All the little words (as I think of them) and where to put them is still causing me the most grief in my Spanish learning journey! I believe the definite and indefinite articles (el, un, una, los, unos) always go BEFORE a noun, in which case I get those. While the Direct Object Pronouns and Indirect Object Pronouns can replace a word - is that correct? And they go in front of a verb or attached at the end of a unconjugated verb : / ?
You have to conjugate the verb. The direct objects would then go before the conjugated verb. Los tengo. If you have more than one verb in the series, only the first is conjugated. In that case, the direct object pronoun can go before the conjugated verb or attached to an infinitive: I want to see him. (Him=lo) Quiero verlo (attached to infinitive) Lo quiero ver. (Before conjugated verb).
You got me thinking (as usual). I was going to ask more about olvidársele but I'll leave that for now and ask these questions. Olvidarse I believe is a pronominal verb that I think should be learned as a separate verb to olvidar. But my question is, is there a grammar term for olvidársele rompérsele etc? Despite having learned IOP‘s and DOP‘s they still to this day make me hesitate when formulating. Probably part of the issue for me is the many uses of se and the fact that I think moreso in Spain there is a leísmo issue. Now for me there are times that le, lo or la etc. just sound natural but not all the time. Any plug and plays you use or other advice?
Hi Rosemary. I am not aware of a specific grammatical term to describe verbs like olvidársele. Reflexive impersonal constructions, perhaps? No, that would not quite fit either because that would incude many reflexives not using LE as well. As far as the whole LE/LO thing, the usage is often different in Spanin so I doubt I you would benefit from any tips to how I use it in Latin America. I have spoken to quite few Spaniards in Mexico and one of the things I notice is there slightly different use of IOPs and DOPs.
Question please 😧 Gabacho confundido. Ay, tal vez, "ME" antes the conjugated y despues the infinitive? Do I have it correct? Nunca tuve un maestro como Qroo Paul Mil gracias. And I have had many instructors. These lecciónes son out of this world.
Hey Qroo Paul .... I thought "Qroo" was pronounced "Kru". That is how teachers are addressed in Thailand. In Thai, Qroo Paul sounds like "teacher Paul". Fun coincidence.
Hi Paul love your stuff. I have devoted many hours listing to you. Question in this video at the time stamp 10:48 you said Personal pronoun and the CC said the something, did you mean Possessive Pronoun? I have spent much time with this. I've finally concluded you may have mis spoken. Could you let me know one way or the other as I am stuck here?
The direct translation for hurt is not “the legs are hurting to me” you saying that confuses me so much more. The direct translation is “My hurt the leg” so I’m trying to focus on that.
Me isn't my, it is me -- and with indirect object pronouns it means "to me" generally. Nevertheless, the important thing is that you can remember it so if thinking of it that way does the trick, by all means keep it up. Thanks for watching the video. Take care.

Paul do you have a learning English for Spanish speaking people?
Just found these, fantastic. Do you have any workbooks, audio or aides to help?
No, I don't. Just the videos.
@@QrooSpanish thanks for the fast reply.
In the sentence "Me duele la garganta", why is "duele" used instead of "duelo"?
Because you aren't saying, "I hurt." You are saying, "The throat hurts me." The throat is the subject that controls the verb.
What if I say "Me puse mi propia camisa"? Is that correct or should I still use definite article?
If there is a need to specify that it is your shirt, you would just say mi camisa.
I can't remember which of your videos mentions a site that helps with conjunctives. You said it's to help Spanish speakers but those who are learning Spanish can benefit from the site too. Please, tell me what the site is.
That was in this video: th-cam.com/video/YYUwOWGictk/w-d-xo.html
I show you different ways to find those lists.
Thank you!!!
Thanks Sir. Can you tell me why the question is not Las tienes llaves? I ask because the verb tienes is conjugated. Thanks !
Ca you give me a time stamp on the video? (e.g. 6:23)
Maestro.....a question of style. When asking someone if they can help me with (a noun), would it also be correct to answer as follows:
"me puedo ayudar con la carro?" Si, puedo te ayudar? or Si, puedo ayudarte? The choices can confuse me at times. Thank you!
Hi Gary. You can put the object pronoun (me, te, le etc) before the conjugated verb or attached to an verb in the infinitive further down the line. Those are the only two options:
¿Puedo ayudarte?
Those first examples also be answered "Si, yo tenerlas/los/la/lo", correct?
You have to conjugate the verb. The direct objects would then go before the conjugated verb. Los tengo.
If you have more than one verb in the series, only the first is conjugated. In that case, the direct object pronoun can go before the conjugated verb or attached to an infinitive:
I want to see him. (Him=lo)
Quiero verlo (attached to infinitive)
Lo quiero ver. (Before conjugated verb).
Thanks!
Thanks!
Puedes is the conjugates verb. The infinitive (unconjugated verb) is poder.
Hey Qroo Paul .... I thought "Qroo" was pronounced "Kru". That is how teachers are addressed in Thailand. In Thai, Qroo Paul sounds like "teacher Paul". Fun coincidence.
That's awesome. I didn't know that.
I think I misspoke there. :)
@@QrooSpanish Thank so much for getting back to be so quickly. I am fixing my notes
So good thanks
Thanks. :)
very ggod!!!!!
Take care.
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
