Actually, the fetus theory is completely all kinds of out of wack. After fleeing Mt. Itoi, Giegue accumulated so much power that his mind and body were destroyed and he became Giygas. After returning to earth, he was contained within the Devil's Machine and hired Porky Minch to make sure the Machine stayed on. The only way to keep Giygas' physical form was through the Devil's Machine, and when Porky deactivated it, Giygas' power and rational thought disappeared.
Actually for me this is a great example of tension making you feel fear, like when you are desctivating a bomb but you are being sorrounded by a figure coming nearby
Giygas is not a physical being anymore. His body was destroyed in the devil's machine. That's why the musics of the battle are so glitched, it's his pain, or might be his not physical body being shifted, swirled... His true form doesn't exists anymore.
I think it's really sad, how his body just- disappeared, leaving only his evil essence behind. Imagine not being able to feel anything, but also do at the same time, and feeling the pain of your body being ripped away, until you're reduced to something even scientists cannot comprehend, and then feeling that same pain for an eternity. That would be awful. Especially since he kinda had the right to attack humanity, as George literally STOLE his concepts of PSI.

I feel like, although without context it's a bit creepy, this theme works perfectly for this battle! Giygas is an excellent final boss. the story behind him is a bit hidden and is excellent, the visuals are a vibe that matches Mother 2 very well, while also being perfect for what Giygas is, a mindless embodiment of pure evil. the music is both exactly what I would imagine this games final boss theme sounding like, but also it fits the final battle so perfectly. it's hopeless, and the only thing you can do is pray for safety. the entire series, but 2 and 3 especially, really are good at making you feel what it wants you too, and Giygas is a prime example
