The court/UN are playing the world. They did not say Israel committed genocide, they used words such as risk of genocide, to prevent genocide, etc. How can Israel prevent something it already did in the past 115 days? UN needs to go.

Great work Frank! The parts with Noura and Diana are really enlighten, for their shine energy, but because both have an incisive reading of the ruling, and a vision of what to do now... perhaps a version of the video with this two parts would be a great tool, more synthetic, to spread the word and inspire other people to act. Hugs from Berlin!

As a South African who lived through apartheid for 17 years...defeating this evil system is a political chess game...Nelson Mandela was in jail for 27 years. Strategic moves were made over a period of time and this is the 1st significant "move" at CHAMPIONSHIP level of this game. FREE PALESTINE!! AMANDLA!

Frank, I'm South African and I thought our Minister of International Relations (Naledi Pandor) summarised the ruling really well and gave us all a good template/narrative to follow when sharing/discussing this result with others.
You can hear her speak on S.A.B.C N.e.w.s - (I'm inserting periods/fullstops to avoid TH-cam deleting this comment, so just ignore them).
Pandor welcomes ICJ order.... that's the title. She starts speaking at about the 2 and a half minute mark. It's really worth listening to it all. She speaks for 10 minutes and I wanted to recommend it to your viewers.

I think that word has, miles above us, been deemed completely banned, verboten, haram, sent to room 101. That's why some people were calling for a "pause" before and still can't say that word. It's amazing how much power clearly exists in dark dealings we have no idea about. That has been made clear quite a lot recently with regard to choice of words. Pay attention to word choice by politicians and mass media you'll be amazed.
Anyway, so they are asking for a ceasefire without using that totally-forbidden word.

It's politics and law, justice is just a name for that. You don't expect a normal court to be just all the time, and certainly not to be quick, especially if the complainant is a homeless immigrant and the accused is the favourite child of the governor. It is amazing it has gotten to this point to be honest, it's a sign that things are turning. Even the end of occupation is actually visible on the hazy horizon, not anymore an impossible dream.

It's so encouraging to see both Frank and Diana smile here in contrast with previous interviews when the horror of the genocide made their eyes glisten. As a viewer, I saw their anguish on screen as a reflection of my own despair in the face of Israel's unfathomable brutality in Gaza. At that time, prior to South Africa's submission to the ICJ, there seemed to be no light at the end of the tunnel. Throughout the past weeks, when listening to each of Frank's interviews (and in particular those conducted with his Palestinian guests -- Diana, Noura, and Susan), I yearned for hope when hopelessness seemed overwhelming. But today, I can see the glinting light beyond. With the legal knowledge and enormous political acumen displayed in this video, hope has been resuscitated. Thank you, Frank, for bearing witness and for your ceaseless efforts to bring crucial analyses to the world during this extraordinary moment in history.

The real tragedy is that the court has allowed a one month timeline. Is that not the same as impunity?
Everyone including their dog knows Israel will not stop! The ICJ has given them a one month license to continue.

    • @R.IAmEnough
      @R.IAmEnough 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      I don't think so.
This is only the first part of the primary ruling.
This court session is the beginning of the apartheid colony losing its impunity. Let's not forget that the number of involved judges that decided that it's a genocide, is overwhelming.
This important court session that many people don't appreciate will change many many things in the road to freedom.
      1. It strengthens the role of Palestinian freedom fighters.
      2. It strengthens Ansar Allah role in Yemen to prevent the genocide from continuing.
      3. The répétition of the imperial countries that the apartheid colony has the right to defend itself, will be far less affective and less repetetive. There will be a good reason to pretend respecting the ICJ decision to call this a genocide.
      4. Neither Gazans, nor supporters against the gen*cides will be dismissed as before.
      5. This case isn't over yet.
It could easily evoked by SA at any time.
The 77 years evil occupation will not end overnight. Let's not forget that the struggle towards freedom usually know more downs than ups, untill liberty is gained, eventually.
      6. Let's not forget that legal courts jargon is different than media and our everyday language.
I listened to the primary judge more than once.
She is giving the occupation the chance to provide essential aid for Gazans. If this doesn't change within a month, things will drastically change within the same court.

Only so much they could’ve done with provisional measures.
This affirms there’s a case to be answered & opens the door to further action from other quarters, including individual criminal prosecutions.
It might as well be a ceasefire order, as the only way to comply with these orders is to stop besieging & killing civilians. Ignoring this clear legal communication makes denial of criminal intent harder to defend for those directly culpable, and indirectly backing them.

    • @nbeizaie
      @nbeizaie 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@Cranky_Crone That is true. That is unfortunate that they did not call for a ceasefire (they could). We know that Israel will continue their genocide as they know no boundaries.
Israel is lost already but they don't know it yet (their gov knows though). The court will just make it official.
There was no intention all over media from hitler yet the nazis were indicted with crimes that were not legally crimes at the time (law passed a couple of years later). They got indicted just based on their actions. The gaza genocide and holocaust, not only can be indicted based on the actions Israel took (similar to germany's case) but also it has intentions from all levels of gov in English and Hebrew in different formats (video, text, kids song, news, tshirt graphics, painting, etc, etc).
The Israelis think the WWII genocide was the only genocide or the greatest genocide. The world doesn't see it that way. That one was just another genocides and the one in Gaza is the newest one. They think the world MUST differentiate between the 2 genocides because? If anything, the genocide on Gaza is way worse than what Germany did. When Germany was committing genocide, there was no law to make it a crime. The law passed and It became a crime a couple of years AFTER WWII and yet, Germany was indicted!
Israel is committing the genocide knowing full well it is a crime so if anything, I say this one's accountability is 100 times higher than the one Germany did! and should be punished to the highest degree possible.
This is aside from humanity and morality that is lacking in all genocides regardless of the law at the time.

Israel lost, today marks a turning point, my three predictions for what's coming in the next one year:
    1. double digit number of Global South states will cut diplomatic ties with Israel
    2. Israel will be banned / expelled from multiple important international sports organizations
    3. Israel will be banned from multiple prominent cultural forums, such as the misery carneval called eurovision song contest
Some may think the isolation of Israel is not a big deal, but I think it very much is, that will be huge blow to the tel aviv government.
