I have grown up in South Africa during the Apartheid years
I witnessed those horrific years. It was a country with no soul. As extremely awful that it was, what is happening in Palestine is much worse. Palestine needs to be free. 😢😢😢

This was a very good episode. Francesca is always so inspirational. Let's get our youth, Palestinian, Israeli, from the West and the global South as Susan said. Let's use their drive for conservation in all its forms and willingness to speak out to promote justice to help our Palestinians to thrive in a peaceful and just land

A wonderful talk. Francesca and Susan are both lovely, knowledgeable, compassionate and passionate women. I must say that what Susan said in her final statement really resonated with me. I love that not only did she not condemn the courageous freedom fighters, she actually spoke up and announced the fact that she didn´t condemn them. I´m not Palestinian, but I have to say that when on the first video I saw of the October 7th invasion there was a man silhouetted against the sky, alone on his paraglider, I felt proud and in awe of his courage and just writing these words makes me cry. I don´t celebrate the loss of anyone´s life, but I particularly hope that he lived to fight and emerge victorious another day.

This channel is an Oasis especially for those of us living in Germany. The global North deprives us of the necessity and the urgency of clarity. Everything filters through their guilt where truth, which has never been so indisputable, shatters and gets lost in nuances and vile rhetoric. Keep at it! This is a service for humanity and its sanity against the eclipse of the mind and conscience.

The fact should not be ignored that an Italian, a Frenchman and an Arab are all conducting this valuable conversation in English! The legacy of American Exceptionalism is everywhere evident but unseen.. It's transparency is phenomena that should never be forgotten, particularly now in Gaza.

The simple fact that this issue is a "matter of debate" scares the bejeezus out of me! When legalistic argumentation is needed to parse objective reality - then we have ALL descended down the slippery slope towards fascism. If the proclamations of nation-states can supplant age-old, universal, humanistic, cross-cultural principles of right and wrong, then we are all in jeopardy.

I am not Palestinian but share Susan's thoughts about the freedom fighters. Much of what they said brought tears to my eyes. Israel have been able to get away with it because most people are ignorant of the historical context - a lack of balanced media coverage, plus corruption of business and political leaders profiting from the occupation, plus the fact that international law is not enforceable.

Suzanne's initial comments are revelatory and gut wrenching - and key to building solidarity. The global south are mostly on board but people in the west are insulated (as you mention) and too busy worrying about climate change, worsening inequality, affordable housing, the cost of living crisis, poverty etc. Why is this broader implication not discussed more? Palestinian oppression is directly connected with other types of oppression resulting concentration of wealth and power which is accelerating since colonialism leading to neoliberalism, late stage capitalism, crony capitalism, plutocracy, growing fascism...whatever you want to call it. Palestinian liberation is a prerequisite for everyone else's liberation. As MLK Jnr said, noone is free until we are all free. We need to bring everyone on board - one by one. Love the idea of a global conference. Susan, instead of armed resistance, why not a international law that is enforceable - not through global military (shuddering at the thought of such concentrated power) - but by agreement - like a NATO for every country in the world. If one country's leaders break a critical international law such as genocide then all other countries come to defend the human rights. Call me a dreamer but as you said we have to imagine a better alternative ❤

So in other words, work hard, build your house and hand it over to some random self proclaimed victim? Yeah right.. You wanna see actual oppression? How about the rich and powerful shut down all technological advancement to the self proclaimed victim classes, and tell them to go build their own stuff?
What would the ordinary people do then? At the click of a button, the elites can shut down the internet and all network communication. What would you then do as a nobody? Like were you born today to grasp that life will never be fair?
      Grow up.

Possibly it is the moment, a moment to appreciate the work of a talented Palestinian, Mohamed Osama ElZakzooki from Gaza. He led a comics workshop I mentored, Zakzoozki always smiling while showcasing his dedication as the dynamo, founder, secretary, accountant, and facilitator - what a white-hearted young man! We became virtual friends, we were preparing to bring his comics dream zine to life. He called it “transit”. But sadly, after Oct. 7th, our communication stopped. Only recently did I stumble in the account of one of the attendees. She told me that during the insane bombing, Osama ElZakzooki lost his life!.

I am looking forward to this podcast today but before I clicked on it, my 👁️ caught something that netanyahu said on another podcast which was: "the ICJ will not stop us. SO this gave me fear because when they are found culpable of genocide , unless they have the ability to remove this man and his cohorts from his country and transport him to the area where he will be either imprisoned or-- if they follow the template of Nuremberg -- executed, what can be done to facilitate that. thtey must be enabled or permitted to physically force him out of the zionist state and into the area where he will be incarcerated. CAN this be done? is my question🤔
