- This vlog is about cooking rice using the instant pot duo crisp, pressure cooker and air fryer in one. This has no Rice option at the control. It seems that they remove some cooking option so that they will have enough space where they can place the options/button for air fryer cooking. If you look at it, those cooking selections are just set of time and temperature for each cooking options. You can always adjust them according to how you want it.
I started crying because I couldn't find the rice button 😭 couldn't find anything fast about how to cook my rice because dinner was almost ready and I was stressing bad. Thank you so much for your video, loved that it was straight and to the point, no talking.

for the dual purpose, it is really a good product. You might want to buy extra inner cooking pot if you want to cook rice then use the air fryer afterwards.
The funny thing is this started out as a multifunction rice cooker and it ended up doing so many other thing else instead
Or in case this happen again, try cooking it over stove in a pot

We tried it twice, it just came out too dry, kind of crunchy. Instead, we cooked it for eight minutes the third time with double the water and it came out MUCH better.
We don’t follow the cooking chart cheat sheet for white rice or brown rice, we pressure cook rice 1/2 the time called for on the package, and we follow the package directions for water, which is twice the amount.

You pressure cook on hi for 5min then natural release for ten minutes ,then quick release.also 4 table soups of butter should be but in

i guess so after doing some soaking time prior to cooking but im not sure yet. I will do another video for that
Going to try this method and see if it works better for me before I break down and buy a separate appliance. I’ve been making my rice with the steam button and it comes out sticky and burns on the bottom. The only time it came out perfect was when I made a full pot of rice for thanksgiving.
if it woks for you, all you need to buy is extra inner pot. because once you cook your rice, you need another inner pot to cook your food. goodluck
@@GePetehi, why do u need another inner pot? Because of the other food smell will stick on am i right?
what i mean for having extra inner pot is for efficiency, instead of transferring the rice to a container and wash the pot before you cook other dish, you have extra inner pot to use right away.

Rice is normally 2:1 ratio but if you rinse it you’ll lesson the water to 1/4 per 1cup of rice

my instant pot duo crisp has a hole in the floating valve... why???
im not sure why. you could have an old version. but if nothing is coming out to that hole, I guess its not a problem at all
Why is out instant pot led screen show different. But almost everything else is the same.
check other vlogs if yours is the only one that have different screen. then check where is yours made or when. maybe its old or maybe its new model

Does your instantpot start with preheat before it start with cooking?
for pressure cooking, it needs to build pressure before timer starts. pressure builds during boiling while the lid is on. to make it faster to, i always use hot water from tap. for air frying, it have preheat, not sure if its preheat of heating element or the actual temp inside. I dont wait for preheat for air frying, i put all the frozen food inside then start the air fryer just like "set it and forget it"

Basmati rice at 5 mins comes out mushy… what am I doing wrong.
did not try it with basmati rice. but if rice is mushy, it means too much water.
