      I always like that line and it reaffirms my stance that Doctor Who is one of if not the Bloddiest show on tv....yeah they don't show anything too graphic but literallly almost every episode its guaranteed it opens with a death and sometiems hundreds or millions will die lol.
      Love this show.

    Dalek Caan was the only one who turned against davros, the rest just got destroyed by the doctor and Donna. The ending with Rose is extremely dark imo, the expression on the real doctor’s face as he watches his clone go off with her knowing he’ll never see her again is pretty twisted. Always loved this finale since I first watched it as a child, it really wraps up the era well.

    • @HamzaReactz
      @HamzaReactz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah okay. Yeah the ending with Rose is interesting. I thought it would have a happier tone to it. But it was just as sad as it was last time we were on that beach. That being said, I do think it’s a perfect ending and she gets to spend the rest of her life with the doctor. Even though it isn’t the exact same one 😂

  • @tiernan7541

    A lot of people draw comparisons with this two parter and Infinity War/ End Game. But whilst end game ends on a more upbeat note, Journeys end ultimately finishes with our protagonist alone and sad. It’s proper great British TV drama.
    This is really the beginning of peak popularity for Doctor Who in the 21st Century. From this point forward for the next two years Doctor Who regularly churned out 10-12 million viewers per episode. It was only really rivalled in ratings by things like the X Factor final and special episodes of soaps like EastEnders. Not bad for a show that was once treated as a huge embarrassment by the BBC.

    • @HamzaReactz
      @HamzaReactz  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Interesting thanks for telling me that and yeah your right about the comparisons. This one leaves on a much sadder tone than endgame does and also feels a lot more realistic that I’m sure many people can sort of relate to, the way the Doctor is lonely :)

    I think the fate of Donna Noble is the saddest fate of all. She saw and did so much, and grew and changed.......and she lost it all! Not a single memory....
    Seeing everyone come together in these episodes was just brilliant- and you're right it felt as if the whole of Series 1-4 was leading up to this point. The Tenth Doctor may not have regenerated, but it very much feels the end of an era here.

    • @HamzaReactz
      @HamzaReactz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry for making you having to keep checking to see if I uploaded 😂 yeah, Donna’s story was sad. Especially when it was time for her to have her memories taking away and she was taking about how she thought she was gonna be with the Doctor, travelling with him forever. I’m not ready for the 10th Doctor to regenerate into Matt Smith, as much as I can’t wait to see Matt Smith as the doctor, I’m not ready to move on from Tennet. We’ve spent so much time with him.

    Oh my! I’ve been waiting for this. This is a loooong post (even for me) so I hope you are patient!
    At the end of the last episode you said you didn’t know if any other ep could live up to that one, and I think you were right. I loved the previous one. This one had really good parts but there were so many storylines that needed a bit more to clarify them.
    The Davros/Dalek thing does make sense but I think it needs a rewatch.
    As far as how to feel about Davros - he is a megalomanic who, back in Genesis, said if he could create a virus to wipe out all life, he would, for the power. And that’s basically what he was doing here… wipe out all but the Daleks. So it ties in. The only reason Ten reached out to save him is Ten’s own guilt about all the death- he didn’t want to destroy the Daleks or Davros because it’s more death tied to him.
    NOW- on to 10.5 or as some call him, “Handy”. I feel like that was a good idea that did not have time to develop. Is he truly the doctor? I think so…his body has human elements but his mind is completely the Doctor- just a new regeneration of him. I look on him as a sideways regeneration rather than a linear regeneration. But he’s still the Doctor - but different because he was regenerated in war (just like Nine was). However, I felt the story fell a little flat here… it needed maybe 10 more minutes to somehow show what he was, and how he really was the doctor.
    And I HATED the ending with Rose. Hated it with the heat of a thousand suns. Because Rose seemed so shallow. “Oh, you aren’t really the doctor but you said “I love you” in my ear so I’ll kiss you and we’re good”. And Ten thinks Handy is a genocidal maniac so he leaves him with Rose to fix? What the heck? That’s supposed to be romantic? Gah. HOWEVER, with just a bit more development of Handy it could have worked well. RTD did have trouble writing that part- some of what he’d planned ended up changed and he was on a deadline and I think some of that suffered. It really seemed a forced solution to me.
    Donna’s end was heartbreaking. Remember how horrified River looked in the Library ep, when she realized that was Donna? She knew Donna was going to lose her time with the doctor. And River chose to die rather than have her time with the Doctor erased.
    You are sooo right that this is a conclusion to all four series. If you rewatch the series at some point, knowing this one, it all falls into place.
    As always I love watching your reactions! Hope you got to the end of this long post unscathed :D

    • @HamzaReactz
      @HamzaReactz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m use to reading long comments now 😂 one thing I love about the doctor is his humanity. Feeling guilt and wanting to save someone like Davros just shows how much of a good person the doctor is. We even saw that in genesis. When he was contemplating whether or not he should end the Daleks. And regarding your opinion on Rose ending, yeah I can see why people may not like it. The foreshadowing in Doctor who is really top tier. Haven’t seen any other franchise do it as good as Doctor who. Can’t wait to watch more :)

    Something I love about Series 1-4 that I don't think people talk about enough is the character arc of Mickey Smith. In the first episode of the series, he ran in fear after realizing the TARDIS was bigger on the inside. Now he's holding Davros, creator of the Daleks and potentially the most dangerous man in the universe at gunpoint. What a guy.

    At 0:45, it’s not that the regeneration didn’t happen - it very much did (and counts toward the “12 regenerations from the original, aka 13 lives limit”), but it’s just that the Doctor used his regeneration to regenerate back into his same body, and funneled the excess energy (that would change his physical appearance) into the hand, creating the human “Handy” Doctor for Rose. This throws off the regeneration numbering for everything and means David Tennant has played four incarnations of the Doctor: the 10th Doctor, the “11th Doctor” (technically 10th Doctor part 2), the Handy human Doctor, and the upcoming “14th” Doctor.

    Great reaction! I agree that this episode is essentially a perfect ending. I remember hearing something about them not being certain whether they would be renewed for more series after this, but I don't know if that's true or just a myth. If it is, it would explain why this series ends without a hook for the next special the way the other finales all had.
    To address some of your confusion, Dalek Caan turned on Davros and the other Daleks because he saw the entire history of the Daleks when he fell into the Time War. He saw all the evil they ever had created and ever could, and because he was a Dalek created to have new ideas whose mind was already mutated by breaking through the time lock, he was able to come to the decision to stop that and work against the Daleks.
    The Supreme Dalek turned on Davros because he believed Davros had betrayed the Daleks (which he hadn't, obviously) when the reality bomb didn't work.

It’s usually the scenes with the human characters and the relationships between those characters that make the show. The villains are cool and add that cool vibe to the show but overall ends up having a weak way of ending the storylines for the villains.

    Cool reaction, I felt really depressed when that ending originally aired back in the day. The way he is just alone at the end is horrible. I dunno what your timeline is for watching stuff, but I would watch Torchwood series 3 before continuing with Doctor Who, that's my advice.

    Im so glad u enjoyed that... just to reassure u, no spoilers will be in my comment... and im quite angry that some have left spoilers in their comments 😒
    Now this episode... i absolutely love it... plot wise, it's crazy and silly and breaks a lot of logic (earth being flown by the TARDIS)... but in the end, i don't care cos it's an absolute character piece and joyous and heartbreakingly PURE entertainment...
    As many have said, it is indeed our endgame... heck, we even get pple turned to dust 😂 the dalek and davros plot ...a lot is happening... But character wise, it makes sense, especially with historical knowledge... Daleks and Davros don't always see eye to eye... these daleks are made from him, so are they technically pure? After all, that's their thing... obsessed with being the only creatures in existence...and davros is slightly different to them in the end... they were keeping him as a pet like the Doctor says... so he can help them achieve their ultimate goal of being the only race... And well Davros is a mad scientist who once said if he did have the power to destroy the whole universe he wud... and here he is getting a chance to do so... and then... we have the creator of the most xenophobic race in existence, calling out the Doctor's true self! Ouch! That's what i love about the RTD era... nothing is black and white, the Doctor... the man who abores violence, especially this incarnation...is such a hypocrite (god, i love that) ... he literally without even thinking... or maybe he does and doesn't want to admit to it, turns pple around him as weapons... who are willing to die for him (this is the reason i had no issue with Jenny coming back to life in the Doctor's Daughter cos the consequences of her death still clearly hit the Doctor emotionally)
    Then he has his meta crisis self whos a reminder to him of that side of him that was willing to commit genocide... this Doctor who's been banging about "no guns" ... was the Doctor that killed the sycorax, took down Harriet jones, killed the racnoss's children, for a second thought about wanting that smarmy rich guy on the titanic had died instead of Astrid.... the 10th Doctor is so complex and a hypocrite... that it fits someone who's supposedly worse than him can call him out for his hypocrisy....
    Then there is what Sarah Jane said... that the Doctor has the biggest family in the world.... and yet at the end... he didn't need to act lonely... he is actually lonely! Bittersweet life...
    And Donna... Wow, wonderful Donna... i can see why u weren't a fan of DoctorDonna at first.... and i know pple get annoyed that she gets powers and then defeats the daleks.... but there's a lot of character depth as to why she becomes the DoctorDonna.... Donna, throughout, feels she's never good enough... despite us seeing just how brilliant she is... she saves and cares and is brave many times without the timelord brain... but the only time she actually feels she is... is when she becomes the DoctorDonna.... and yeah, it's the most confident she's ever been, and self-assured... but at what cost in the end?? Losing her whole journey and development and memories... the things that made her special... becoming someone else literally killed the Donna we come to love... that's so heartbreaking... i know u were glad... but most of us were heartbroken... pple were literally angry at the mind wipe... that's how naunced it is... we know the Doctor needed to do it... but the question is, did he have the right? Would she prefer to die than lose a single memory of her amazing journey? Again, so bittersweet... even watching this, i was crying again... and when you watch the whole series again it really kills how she does not remember this anymore... her best friend... that end scene in the kitchen kills me each time! Hats of Catherine for an amazing performance... the fact that she doesn't understand what a sontaran is ...was spouting perfect technobabble 😂... oh Donna... the most heartbreaking end of a companion for me.
    The Rose end is also very bittersweet... yeah, she gets a Doctor... but really, it's just a copy (who also has Donna's personality 👀😄) so one hand, it feels perfect... but yet isn't... again so much naunce...
    Martha doesn't actually break the fourth wall... the camera angle unfortunately makes it look like that 😂
    Oh and that music used for the earth being towed by the TARDIS is just one of my favourite pieces of this era...
    And yes you are right it does feel like one big story from s1 to 4.. cos technically RTD was planning on leaving after this... but bbc convinced him to stay for the specials, so we were not without any Doctor Who while Moffat settled into the being the boss...Journey's end indeed...
    And i can tell you a lot of us were happy that DT didn't regenerate... but it did the trick of getting 10 million views... RTD knows what he's doing 😅 plus it fits the 10th Doctor's vanity as well... another cheeky flaw of our handsome complex Doctor....
    oh, and some of us didn't mind the naked DT either 👀🤣
    Now what's Next????

      I enjoy reading your comments because I get to see the episode differently to how I interpreted it. Doctor who does tend to have some silly stuff and sometimes it’s hard to ignore however you are right, its still really fun to see and Doctor who wouldn’t be what it is if it just had a completely serious tone to it and everything was to be taken seriously. The doctor Donna thing, your point is valid however I’m just not a fan of human characters getting powers. One thing I love about Donna is the human side to her. I love her attitude, it’s very human and British 😂 I love that she has these emotions. And I feel like having the doctor Donna thing kinda takes away that humanity. Sort of. I’ve always preferred human characters to stay human. Also, I wasn’t happy she got her memory wiped, I thought she was only getting her powers taken away. But also at the same time, having her memories wiped is the right thing to do. I’m excited to see what the specials have to offer :)

      @HamzaReactz that's very kind of u... your reactions are fun and you've created a safe space to share views on the show even if there are things that pple disagree with... that's rare... especially for this fandom 😄 so thank u
      Just to add I'm 💯 with you about companions having powers... cos its the humanity that makes them special... but I can let both Rose in Series 1 and Donna here off for getting powers cos in the end those powers are not what makes them special, and there's severe consequences of them getting basically God like powers... for example Rose being the bad wolf led to Jack not being able to die, and the Doctor regenerating... and she used the powers herself in line with her personality and humanity. Same with Donna... yes she saves the day, but at a cost to her... she uses her powers in a very Donna way... the best temp in Chiswick... I think I wud have hated it they Continued to have God like powers... and I'm also looking forward to how this plays out in her return if it does at all.
      Still need to go back and watch your TW and SJA vids

      You’ve made made a valid point. I’m fine with them getting powers as long as it doesn’t end up being forever and somehow gets taken away from them, and that’s exactly what happened with those characters. So I guess I don’t have an issue anymore :)

      Is the episode awesome? Yes. But I don’t know if I would say it’s the one of the greatest. I’d say the previous one is definitely up there. But this to me felt a lot more fan servicy. Had a lot of our favourite characters make a reappearance. But the actual story I wouldn’t say is top tier. Other have commented saying they aren’t a huge fan of how the Daleks were dealt in this episode and I think I agree with them. Villains in doctor who seem to be disregarded pretty quickly. I honestly don’t know, I obviously enjoyed it. But idk if I would say it’s one of the greatest though. I’m just not sure yet :)

      I’d say if we are to count the previous and this one as one overall episode. Then yeah definitely one of the greatest. But I just think there are some things that aren’t perfect. There is a lot to enjoy in this episode particularly seeing all the spin-off characters but I glad you weren’t 100% on board with the whole meta crisis thing. Some great emotional beats in the story and I can always watch Julian Bleach’s Davros. Ultimately I can’t get over my feeling that the three doctors thing is just silly (if that’s the right word).

    Yeah, I think the "Doctor Donna" thing was a bit weird out of context. However, I do believe it was the logical and perfect ending to Rose's story and, obviously, they tied in Donna's exit through it as well. It's one of those plots that feel kind of funky but you just accept it because it is Doctor Who and it is a whacky show in general (in the best way).
    14:34 I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this already but this line is actually referring to the character played by the same actor as Gwen Cooper in the season 1 episode "The Unquiet Dead." She even has the same name. It was just a quirky way RTD tied them together.

    As much as I like this episode, it slightly annoys me that half the main cast don’t really get anything to do. I do agree that this is the perfect ending for S1-4. Russell T. Davies (the showrunner) is brilliant at worldbuilding like this and so, like you said, S1-4 just feels like one big story. I’m interested to see what you think of the next few episodes, because amongst them is my favourite Doctor who episode of all time…

    • @HamzaReactz
      @HamzaReactz  ปีที่แล้ว

      The way the cast were in this episode, usually tends to be how it is when they have a decent amount in one episode. It’s the problem of having too many characters. The doctors daughter had the same problem. Having Martha on this side plot that didn’t need to happen, only so the main plot didn’t feel too crowded. But at the same time, it was nice to see them all I guess :)

  • @lavenderbloodstains

    not really a spoiler, more an interesting piece of trivia, but i wanted to tell you that when the doctor brings rose back to bad wolf bay and leaves the human doctor (who is often referred to as the metacrisis doctor in the fandom) with her, there was a deleted scene where the 10th doctor gave the metacrisis doctor a piece of the tardis' interior, particularly one of the bits that looks kind of like coral, and told him to "grow his own," with the implication that the metacrisis doctor and rose would go on their own journeys in the parallel universe. unfortunately the scene was cut for time, but russell t davies said in an interview he still believes it's canon!
