Happy 4th of July everyone. I have lived in Michigan my whole life and my grandparents are buried in Calumet, my great grandfather worked in the copper mines and came to the United States to make a better life for my grandfather and his brothers and sisters. My husband and I live near the Tawas area and we have always wanted to move to Calumet, I still have family there but for now we have to stay here. The case’s here that have always interested me are Christopher Hallaxs disappeared March 17 2004 and he was a experienced outdoorsman and Joe Clewley and his dog . He was an experienced hiker who went missing in July 12 th 2008 and his dog came back several weeks later. Our state is very beautiful but it has many, many miles of state and national forest filled with cedar swamps and thousands of lakes and rivers. It’s a strange place indeed.

@@jackiepjacqui3846 . You can go and read the story. It said he had lost some weight but was in good shape. He had been missing for at least two weeks and they went missing from Newberry Michigan in the Upper Peninsula. He had walked out of his back door for a hike that he did daily and just disappeared. The other guy was a survivalist and a very good one too he had went out in horrible weather and pushed himself to the limit and always come back. It's just very odd that neither one of them have never been found. My daughter went up there to the ice caves this past winter and I made her take personal protection and a GPS tracker. She went in a large group but I always worry when she goes hiking or kayaking now even in a large group.

I am a Florida native who took an interest in the U.P. I was very fortunate to be able to go to explore the western U.P. I'd move there tomorrow if I could find a job. I'm in PA now having escaped the hell of southeast FL. Although there's rural parts I really like, and it's soooo much better than where I'd been, it's not the U.P. If I'm successful at attaining my R.N., I'm heading up. There's just nothing like the U.P. in the lower 48. Take care and much blessings from central Pennsylvania!

@@lilred00051 . During the pandemic so many people from the city bought up the old cabins and had homes built on land that had been for sale for years up there and we only found out when we went up to put flowers on my grandparents grave and couldn’t get a room in any hotel or little mom and pop inn. The owners of the place we had stayed at many times told us that they were full up with people waiting for their houses to be finished and their wellls to be punched. I also read now that a lot of those people were called back to work because they couldn’t work remotely anymore 😂 and now a lot of those homes are going up for sale. The prices are high now but they will be coming down quite a bit in the future. I know that nurses are needed badly all over in Michigan but especially in the northern parts of our state. I’m keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you that you make it back because I understand how hard it is to be away from a place that always feels like you are home when you get there. Happy 4th of July.

You have a great way of retelling the stories and I appreciate the time and effort you put into them when you print out maps of the areas for us to see.

It’s so crazy - living in Michigan - no one talks about any of this stuff. I was telling my sister-in-law and mother-in-law about the Michigan triangle and they thought I was joking … and I was like, “no seriously, look it up!” They did and were BLOWN away. I was like that’s only the tip of the iceberg.
Thankfully, I live in two areas of the lower peninsula where activity is super low (or un-reported lol). But knowing what I know now, I keep my head on a swivel no matter where I am in the state {especially in the woods}.

I was listening to a video earlier about Fairies, and they were saying that the more you become connected to a place at heightened levels of emotion then the more likely your emotions will be receptive to the hidden realm. This may partly explain the unexplainable waves of connection to researching certain areas

I would be interested in knowing if the dog was exposed to the track on the other side of the river and what would have been the outcome if it had been.
The fact it wouldn't enter the thicket seems really significant to me. That is one of the most interesting dog responses you've ever reported on.

Good morning Dave, & Fellow Villagers!! Through your whole presentation, I was holding my breath, (just hoping Stubby would be found)! I really thought you was going to say they found him in the berry thicket, ( when the dogs wouldn’t move). That’s so strange. What could scare a bloodhound? Those dogs sure do have great spidy senses! I feel terrible for the parents of this young man.

The only time I’ve seen a bloodhound refuse to go any farther was when she was within thirty feet of (sadly) the body of the person being searched for. A previous dog team continued on, but this dog stopped and sat above an undercut river bank from where the person was recovered. This particular dog and her handler were the most successful team in the state. Once on a track, the most important thing is to observe the dog and never presuppose or assume you know better than the dog. I helped her with some bloodhound training and brought my Great Pyrenees along on a couple sessions. The trainer/handler worked with her and offered to train my dog as a cadaver dog which would have been helpful for winter time searches. I did not take her up on the offer, but agreed that it was an excellent idea.
    Sad story.

This was a tragic but awesome Special Missing 411 segment David! Thank you so much for doing this one.
Do not worry so much about other people trying to copycat you. As frustrating as it is remember people always try to copy the great ones!
Tragedy in the case of the four-year-old nickname stubby! First off let's talk about how the hell he actually got out of that truck? I don't know how many people nowadays remember the way vehicles were back then. Door handles required a little bit of strength to open they weren't easy like they are nowadays heck it took some strength just to roll down the window. Let alone open a car door or truck door in those days. Probably more strength than a four-year-old had. That being said how the hell did he get out of that truck?
You said that this was an open Hayfield. I just bet the farmhand could see in all directions and plainly see the truck. He probably could also have seen the kid get out and start walking around the Hay field for that matter. The farmhand cleared his name so that excludes him as the abductor.
Now the Berry Factor. There have been a lot of kids go missing picking berries. This time it was unusual that the Berry crop was so abundant this season. Which may have led to his strange circumstances. The ones who are found have strange tales or interesting stories to tell. Often times the " culprit" ( so to speak) sounds like or acts like a bigfoot. I know you don't like to pin it on them but if not them something very similar was abducting them. From what I gathered from the children's account of it all. They've also been fed berries by these entities while being held captive.
I'd like to say that bloodhounds are damn good trackers! Also that first dog on the scene was one hell of a dog good dog good boy! He may not have found him but he gave it one good effort!!! I bet that canine faithfully tracked many a coon and possibly found missing people in it's day! If that dog didn't want to go in that briar patch there was a good reason.
Just to mention this, that was a great father. He really did look for his son. And I don't blame the Uncle. I would have sold the place to after that happened.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU DAVE, YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR FRIENDS, AND ANGIE, & HUCK!! HAVE A GREAT WEEK AHEAD SIR!! ALSO I HOPE AND PRAY YOU ARE HAVING A GREAT 4TH OF JULY!!!
    I'M A VERY PROUD VILLAGER!!!
P.S. I HOPE ALL VILLAGERS HAVE A BLESSED AND SAFE FOURTH-OF-JULY!!!💥🧨🇺🇲🇺🇸🎆🎇
P.S..S. I JUST HAD A THOUGHT DAVID WHAT IF THESE BIGFOOT LIKE CREATURES ARE BEING ORDERED TO ABDUCT CHILDREN BY EVEN HIGHER ENTITIES?!

I was picking berries at about 13 or 14 years old in the mountains of north Idaho above the town of Wallace close to the state line up Burke canyon when I wandered maybe 30 or so yards away from everyone and felt so creeped out I ran back to the group. I told my uncle and step-dad there's something down there. So they grabbed a gun and looked. They didn't find anything but looked a little shaken themselves when they got back. That experience creeps up in my thoughts now and then. BTW you don't pick berries up there without a gun unless you want to be grizzly food.

He wasn't berry picking with his ready to pop pregnant mother, he instead went with his father to go help cut his uncle's hay and give mom, still at home, a needed break from intensive care of a young one to watch over. I don't normally leave comments on anything. But I have to say Dave, this is the most interesting and thought provoking video you've made. And I have seen all of your videos that are on your U.T. channel. Now don't get me wrong. I am a big fan, follower and sharer of all the 411 videos that I have seen thus far. As well as your films, which were all captivating. So much so, that I've watched them all numerous times. And they all seem to leave me with a question or two. But instead of asking you those questions, I usually discuss them with the friends and/or family members that I have shared said video with. But this one leaves me with far more than one or two questions. With it's conflicting stories of Stubby disappearing while picking berries with his mother, to him disappearing after being left with a young and careless farm hand. From the child size track on the opposite side of the river, to the child size shoe print in the meadow or field. I can't recall where you said the shoe print was exactly, just that they found a shoe print. And it was nowhere near the track they found. From the blood hound tracking his scent twice to the river, to the blood hound tracking his scent to a thicket of berries. Very conflicting reports to say the least. But even with all the questions those things provoke, the one question that I can't seem to get past or let go of is why didn't they check in that thicket for Stubby? I know nothing of thickets, so the answer may be obvious to some people. But I don't understand. If it was too thick to go into, why didn't they just cut it back/down and look for him there? If it were my 4yr old boy that was missing, that thicket would have been a thicket no more. I would have chopped it down to nothing if it took me forever. I wouldn't have cared about any thorns or stickers or whatever it is that makes it a thicket. So why Dave, why do you think they didn't check in the thicket for that poor little 4yr old child? I'd really like to know if there's a good reason they wouldn't. Because I don't get why they didn't. Hopefully you can shed a little light on this for me. And thank you for all your hard work and dedication on all of your different social media platforms. You are so knowledgeable on so many subjects and it's wonderful how you chose to share that knowledge with us. You are greatly appreciated and loved by us all.

Can bloodhounds track if the child was carried and not put down? What if someone carried him all the way across the land mass and then into a boat in Lake Superior? Maybe the shoe print was just a reposition from carrying him? This is horrible- that poor family. There is nothing worse than a child’s disappearance.

Excellent video Dave. Lived in Michigan all my life. UP of Michigan is very remote and easy to get lost even in the daylight. The state with the must lakes at 12,000. Anywhere in Michigan you are less than five miles from any water source.

Great episode! I like the way you are dividing your videos up now. I've always been a fan. I was introduced to your work on The Unexplained with Howard Hughes and then Coast to Coast. I purchased all your movies and the Vanished show on Amazon when they first came out. Thank you for all you do to explore these puzzling cases. I hope you keep up the good work and ignore the "trolls" and "negative Nellys."

This is such a sad outcome for the poor family and to try to pin it on Vincent is disheartening too. Thanx, Dave, for the detailed investigation in this special
edition and bringing little Stubby's news to the forefront. I pray for that family. God bless you All. Stay safe. Peace.

Very strange… I’m not sure if you’ll see this Dave, but have you ever investigated the case of Finn Creaney? A bush craft expert, bush craft teacher with a TH-cam channel and loving family man. Missing without a trace from the highlands of Scotland on the 25th March 2022. Another very odd case.

Dave, I will keep watching you either way you decide to do letters/disappearances, but I like the mix--perhaps fewer letters would keep it shorter, but I really like mixing it up. It helps my brain get into the intricacies of the stories. Peace, on this day.

Wild berry thickets usually have thorns. When you are picking wild berries, you are focused on the bramble bush to avoid the painful thorns, concentrating on picking the berries and you've just dropped your guard around you. That would appear to be the most convenient time for any unseen predator to get with range of attacking and disposing of you in some manner. There must be some kind of intelligent life form who lives in wild areas but can live there undetected if not invisible for the most part to humans.
Time and space in the same area are possibly being distorted at some point during the encounter, and this may be producing violent weather disturbances a day or two after the incident happens. Why the track of the boy's footprint on the opposite side of a river which he couldn't in reality ever get across? Most of this isn't logical and can't be explained with our rational knowledge. Yet it happens, and it will continue to happen for the foreseeable future.

You know how when a human is out in the woods or fields and we see a baby red fox, coon, bobcat or other baby animals. What is the first thing we think? Oh, I am going to take it home with me. I think sasquatch see’s young children the same way as we see animals and they take them back with them just like some people do with wild animals. That explains most all of the questions, track across river, dogs, and no signs. Sasquatch has been seen lots of times in berry patches. Just my opinion. Good video my friend

Another very intriguing case! I finally was able to afford to purchase your latest movie and it was great. A lot of integrity, research and honest people relating real experiences. Today while watching this video i thought about how i cant remember ever hearing about missing babies. Like children less than 2 yrs old. Sure there are sadly too many cases of missing children but i cant think of any that meet your criteria. Infants would be harder to snatch because they are not walking around and parents are usually close but there are some crappy parents out there and you would think that there would be situations where a baby would be left unattended? Im just curious if there are unusual cases involving babies? Maybe infants don't fit into the unknown reason why people are taken? I don't know, just happened to cross my mind.

Hey David, I've been following you for years, since your first book and before I moved from Denver to Orleans, it's been quite a journey, I hope that sharing yours has helped you, I know you've helped take my mind off of things from time to time. I've recently moved back and driving by the old diner on Federal reminded me of a lot of things. don't really write, I think once I emailed about a missing girl, before this channel, but I just wanted to say thanks. I've never had trouble w utube notifying me perhaps there's something else that gives folks trouble. And as a wise man once said "keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars!"

The child tracks on the other side of the river were not Stubby's. The body was never found because it went into the river. That's the logical conclusion. But what do I know, looking at this case over a hundred years in the past ? Very interesting case, David.
Happy 247th Independence day, everybody !

What IF Stubby fell into water, was spit out downstream, 3 miles, still alive. Not impossible.. Especially when Dave mentioned the Bloodhound ran at 45° able With the river, stopped downstream across from where footprint was found ... This starts making more sense,, No ?

Very interesting, makes me wonder with the way the bloodhound ran for 3 miles straight to the impenetrable Thicket that if after the fact they went back and hacked through the Thicket searching for anything inside of it. Especially since they took the dog to the other side, and it refused to track. Maybe it was still saying that what they were looking for was in the thicket. Very good case Dave, and you are correct that people will pile on this band wagon for sure.
