error in you computer math 7000 MB is not 7 GB, 7000 MB is 6.84 GB Because 1024 MB is 1 GB so you need to multiply 1024 by 7 and you'll get 7168 then you'll have 7 GB
are you using a laptop or desktop? Are you shutting down any processes in the task manager? I have win 7 and on a laptop. Trying to play simcity 4 and I have a bit of a lagging problem.
I have 2GB RAM as well... For the paging file size, it is recommended that you keep the upper limit at say 2 or 2.5 times the Installed RAM (so keep 4096MB as upper limit)... Keep the lower limit as [upper limit minus 100MB] so that is 3096MB... NOTE: In whatever disk you are setting the paging file size, make sure a lot of disk space is free... If not then delete a lot of stuff or get a bigger hard disk...

If you dont want to get blue screens, read a manual about virtual ram pagefile. Dont just add more mb cus that makes it slower, removing mb's can make it unstable. Most of the time automatic system managed page file size is the most stable option, whats best to do is change the file to be stored on a different harddrive. You need to do some memory test to get it right, if you dont want to do some research and just want to copy paste numbers from a video you are wrong, how many mb's gb's you add for the pagefile to use is entirely up to the needs of your specific computer, so adding numbers that work great on computer A probly wont work that wel with computer B Btw alot of websites advertise about having the best virtual memory page file options, but most of the time they are wrong and are just reposting old garbage that isnt working properly.

The only thing increasing page file size can sometimes help with is if you get 'system out of RAM' messages during play, because it adds to the total amount of what can be memorized. However, data needs to be loaded from the page file back to RAM whenever it is actually used for calculating or sending to the GPU, and then written back to the page file when the RAM is needed for something else. Hard drives (and flash drives) are *much* slower than actual RAM, so you definitely lose a lot of time/speed in the process. If your goal is lag-free gaming, put enough RAM in there (or more) and disable the page file altogether. Also use a graphics card that has its own RAM, as opposed to shared. If you do want to increase your page file size, it shouldn't matter how large you make it as long as you have enough free space on your hard drive. You can only crash things if you make it too small and there isn't enough RAM.

Paging file really has no impact on performance if you got enough RAM, my laptop has 8 gigs and can do fine without a page file on Windows and Linux. The best option would be to move the page file to another (internal) hard drive.
I'm only really doing this for the sims 4 cuz I can run every game I throw at my PC - at medium settings, sometimes low - at it would work but for the sims 4 on medium settings it won't... I'm hoping this will work tho

Ram does not affect game lag it's all about the graphics ram only affects render processes as for technical terms random access memory if you want to run games better get more graphics memory

This would work bette ron an SSD but really to improve gaming performance I would just get another stick of RAM and a cheap GPU (Like an R7 250 or 750Ti) and you could be running GTA V just £99 later.

Yes but page file is for hibernation and if you spike in ram past what you have it can page the memory Topias.
On Windows, paging and hibernation have separate files, and yes, it's best to have even a small page file in case of running outta ram
