This shows you the basic yet important things to do to help you get rid of lag and gain performance for your computer.

Many thanks for not deleting the video, you gave some great tips that I'll try out now. I've known about Ccleaner, but not so much about the other tips. I made a separate User Account and added the settings there as a test to the changes, so I hope this work for me.
This is incredible and before this, my computer lagged so much that to open google chrome it took about 3 minutes but after this, my computer has the best speed i can imagine! thank you so much!

I play an online MMO called Mabinogi which in the past has been very heavily affected by fps lag and such. I also use CCleaner, but I keep all the advanced boxes unchecked due to the fact that I once checked all of them and lost internet service and had to system restore my computer. Also the registry fix "TcpAckFrequency/NoDelay" are used to bundle data packets sent at once. For a game like Mabinogi it helps to deal with the reaction time and response time it takes for the server to respond.
if you bought a computer in the past 5 years with gaming in mind, you dont need to do any of this. These are age old techniques to push performance that I cant recall having to do since we ditched dial up.
registry and defrag are just basic pc maintenance though I dont think you need to reorder your data on a solid state drive.
if you wanna decrease visual lag, run the game with the lowest settings, things like anti-aliasing, reflections, bloom, motion-blur, shadows casting, all eat up your cards performance.
Also hit the Windows button and R and type in %TEMP% and once the folder loads up, press CTRL+A and then once that selects everything, press delete and make sure everything deletes. Some items will say that it's being used by another program or something so just press skip for those. Do the same and go into Window key+R and type in prefetch, now do the same!

Yes, this cleans up the temp files that your computer creates when running various programs. After a while they stack up quite a bit and can cause minor performance issues in some computers. Deleting them is perfectly safe and good for your computer; don't worry, you'll get plenty more soon enough.

One thing about CCleaner is it will remove any saved passwords, so make sure you have them written down or know them by heart, other than that, it's a great tool to use.
Only thing I can think of is your power supply is bad? or what are you plugging your pc in Are you using a extended outlet or just the wall outlet?

Click on "Take me there" its to the right of "Use the advanced 3D image settings" which is between the option " let the 3d application decide and use my preference emphasizing "
Don't forget to turn down your shadow volume.@Ryan McAllen did you even look at the time stamp. This video was made in 2009. I hope those system specs you have now are better then that.

Is the last part where you go to ''regedit,'' is that safe to do on your computer to change those values in your registry?

K2oProd I'm guessing by the guns in watch dogs that it makes it an FPS. But Do you do the same stuff with TcpAckFrequency and TCPNoDelay with FPS as you do with RPG games?

I would agree If you have a stock pc bought pre built. If you have a custom pc that you ordered or built yourself then you should know what power supply you have. If you have a decent brand and spec of PSU then you should be fine, but stock pcs are designed to work with the components they came with while using the cheapest items possible.

celeron is quite bad since they are basicly rejected i3's with turned out performance.
1,7ghz is quite bad but it should do for older games.
6gb ram is alot looking back at your other specs so that should be fine.
and intel HD graphics arent that great, more used in the office or lower spec games.

only for a laptop. if you clean its fan and put thermal on the parts (once a year) it'll improve a little. the colder my laptop is, the better it runs
Avast is really good. I don't have it right now but all of my friends have it for gaming and it works wonders. Keeps your pc running good and it helps a lot. I would get it but I dont have the money

nice. One question. I haven't tried this yet but by doing this. Will it help increase FPS for heavy games like planetside 2 on low to med settings? I play on a laptop. HP pavilion sleekbook 2. Yeah not to good but it works for games like warframe terraria etc... without this setting. BUt This question is for FPS fixes for heavy games.

for defragmentation, I would recomment SmartDefrag, a free program that automatically defragments you hard drive for you. It's very useful.
deleting the Prefetch files only slow your computer. just because it takes up space, doesnt mean you can delete it

ive had cc cleaner for over 3 years, its totally safe and the only files it deletes are files that are un-needed, it WILL NOT i repeat WILL NOT delete important files or programs, it just deletes the useless junk. Kind of like losing weight, but for your pc.

guys if a person doesnt like the windows 8 you can download on windows 8 classic shell its a app that is like wnidows 7 and the menu bottom will appear on his windows 8 if you dont like the menu of windows 8 so classic shell is the best app

I think you have Windows 8. If so, just press the start button, and type in "control panel" click on it. Once that has finished you click on "system and security" and click "system" after that just click on advanced system settings and go to performance. Now just look at the rest of the video (of where he's at performance and he adjusts it to best performance, really blatant of course)

No of course not, it just deletes history and internet cache. None of that will affect your computer at all. It will just get rid of useless internet files. The only chance of something messing up would be if you used the registry cleaner, there is a tiny chance it could delete something important. That is why when you press repair, you press yes to backup registry files, and if anything bad happens, just open up your backup folder.

what aero did to slow down a machine is using to many resources to operate. so switching to classic will help but the os itself is still using alot of resources.

Yeah setting it on high will increase fps but its more tasking on your computer which may lead to a bluescreen or graphic card failure.

I dont know if you can help or not but I did everything you said but now in my RPG game (Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning) all the text is blurred. Not so blurred to the point of being not legible but annoyingly blurry. How can I fix this. I am using Gamebooster v3.5 I have an HP 630 Notebook Windows 7 Professional SP1 i3 Dual Core 2.40 GHz Intel HD Graphics 4GB Ram 450GB HDD.

changing the appearance settings to windows classic will stop lag but is so dull and if you have the right amount of hard drive and ram games will not lag
im scared to do the cc cleaner because it says this will permanantly delete files, and well what if they delete some thing important????????????
