Amanda’s Custom Lamps!Nice job,new lamp-matches the floor lamp. Surprised that the wind/water was so calm on your kayak adventure.Such a beautiful place.Enjoy!☮🐾
When I first saw your kelp it looked like a underwater cable to me. The kelp I know is so different in California. I thought oh no! Then the second time it came up I realized. 😂 Happy Sunday
The hi lite of my weekend is seeing what you did for the week. That’s why when I didn’t see you last week I began to worry, but I understand why you were not here last week. Gathering wood off the beach seems to be one of the most difficult jobs you perform. Too bad you don’t have a small motorized Jon boat that you could use. The lamp was cool, hope you have fun making other projects with your driftwood. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
❤So very glad deer droppings are gone, wolves have surely moved on then.Water trip footage was great girl, loved seeing more of your world .Enjoy your solitude after visitors and hope that they left you leftovers cause I'm sure you lost 5 pounds rowing home! Great project making a driftwood lamp! Your all around talents are impressive and your determination more so.And great piece!❤
What an awesome video, Amanda, thanks. I love the photography and music so much. I got tired just watching you pull that log ashore. Can you eat the kelp from the waters? Great job on the lamp, love it. Best to you and Peach!!!
I was thinking about you yesterday (Saturday), we had a good storm here at Crescent beach and I was wondering how it was at your place. The beach combing with your kayak was great! I really like your lamps, they have such nice ambiance in your place, so cozy. Peach is becoming a good grown girl now, you are such a great talent in many ways. All the best to you and Peaches in the stormy winter. I do love a storm though.
i was watching some videos of flooding in Vancouver this morning on TikTok. crazy! we've had rain here pretty much non-stop, but not THAT much!! yikes!!! thanks so much for watching!
The rain has been particularly bad on the west coast, they did forecast atmospheric rain, saw video of parking lots filled with like 80 MM of rain in the parking lots. My kid makes lamps as gifts, she uses dried kelp as the sheath for the lamp. Really nice guitar music, that is a really nice lamp you made for yourself, You have a peaceful life Amada, Enjoy! Also, with those logs, I'm sure your aware, that some logs might have nails in them, so wear your faceguard when cutting the logs.
yes, i saw some videos of the flooding on Tiktok. I hope everyone is okay! That's such a cool idea to use dried kelp!!! nice!!! 🧡🧡🧡. thanks for watching!
I made a walking stick, out of a piece of driftwood, and I use it all the time, because I am old, and need the help. Anyway, I sanded it, added some different beads, other decorations, and a deer antler, for the top, where my hand holds it. I also shellacked it, and used small lettered beads, for my name. I get so many compliments on it. I could have sold them! Anyways, it was fun. Your lamp looks great! Blessings, to you and Peach!
I love cool overcast/rain drenched weather, that crystal clear ocean and trees all the way down to the water is absolutely lovely! In previous vlogs you mentioned wanting your own island. Do you still want that or would it be possible to stay where you are? The island you're on fits you.
the water was so clear that day... it honestly felt tropical. oh wow, i'd love a private island - haha - but don't think that's ever going to happen. i'd be happy with a small piece of raw oceanfront land :). who knows that the future brings. i won't stay here forever. this is the owner's 'forever' home and eventually they will move here full time and will no longer need a caretaker :)
Your very resourceful Amanda I laughed out loud though when you tied the log rope to your calf I had this terrible vision of you drifting off with the log I’ve said it before your a great role model for women every where. Stay safe kiss to peach
Hey Amanda well done on the lamp. You’ve give me some good ideas. My off grid property is somewhat low on power so I’ll probably use a led light powered by rechargeable double a batteries with a wireless switch. Couple of thoughts on retrieving the log. Take a hammer with you. Much more effective than a rock. I personally wouldn’t tie anything to my leg while in a kayak. You might want to put a cleat or two on the kayak to tie things off to. Love your videos. Keep em coming.
hi don!! i generally don't like to take anything with me... just makes the kayak heavier and i don't want to drop anything in the water. when i finally found a good rock it did the job well :)! thanks again for watching!!!
Hi Amanda good to see you, I love that lamp you mad . Where did you get the wire set up for it? Id like to try that , your becoming very crafty and doing so very well. That water was so clear and scenery gorgeous as always .
i got it on Amazon. they're not very expensive. if you search for 'pendant light cord' it should show up :). i think these ones might be 9ft long. thanks for watching!
I guess I'm a bit of a natural scavenger, I love beach combing. Do you ever find interesting things either in the water or washed up? There is a guy on the Olympic Peninsula (i think) that has the most fascinating huge collection of flotsam and jetsam - John's Beachcombing Museum I think it is called
i'm not entirely sure, but the ones i want to really dry i bring inside. that curved stick sat by my woodstove for a season. a lot of people bleach their driftwood to kill bugs etc., but i didn't want to bleach mine :). for the tall lamp inside i dried the wood slice (base) out for 2 years by the woodstove and the long piece for about the same time, but outside.
The water is beautiful! Thank you for views from the kayak. The lamp looks great too. 🥰
Thanks for watching! The water was especially clear that day. I remember thinking that as I was rowing back from the house :)

A woman of many talents! Love the lamps! You & Peaches continue to be well & safe!
When I first saw your kelp it looked like a underwater cable to me. The kelp I know is so different in California. I thought oh no! Then the second time it came up I realized. 😂 Happy Sunday
it does! i never thought of that, but probably b/c i'm so used to seeing kelp like that everywhere here!
Love the lamp idea. A coat rack and chandelier would be awesome as well. Hi Peach!!
ooh good ideas :). so much cool driftwood washes up here!! the possibilities are endless.

Great to see you and Peach doing so well. Beautiful views around your area :) . Good to know the wolves may have moved on. Love your little lamp !
What a great idea for a lamp. It’s always such a feeling of accomplishment when you make things for yourself. ❤
hey, thanks :)! i mean it's not gonna win any home decor awards, but it's good for me - haha!

i was invited to turkey dinner, but on the day of i didn't feel 100% so i ended up spending it cozying up with Peach :). i enjoyed myself.
I love your lamp. I’m a wood worker and I might have to make one of those. Very creative.
a woodworker?! oh man, i feel embarrassed that you saw my 5-minute lamp - haha! i bet yours will be amazing!! 🧡
@@AmandaOffGrid Your lamp looks great. Mine will probably tip over:)
Love the lamp. Hi Peachie!
thanks! once i get a lampshade i'll show everyone what it looks like :)

Yay!!!!!! I was thinking about it and also saw the flooding in North Vancouver. Hope you stay safe
yes, i saw the flooding on TikTok... very scary!!!
Hello. I'm a new subscriber. Thanks for sharing cool life in the woods.
Looked like a bowline knot you made for towing that log? Very good!
The water looked amazing in the beginning drone footage ! Tell me , do you wake up with a sense of peace ✌️ like everyday ?! Thank you 😊

Love the lamp. Do you even need a lampshade?
i guess if you got a really old fashioned looking lightbulb it might be cool, but i like a softer light... we'll see if i can find one i like :)
You are working hard ! Kayaking with a log in the sea is difficult. How many cameras are you using ? I count 3 for that shot. Impressive !

Hi how about using a c clamp to hole your projects down while you work on them. A couple different sizes would be handy. 😊
One tool name I can remember haha
Per drilling great if you don't have a bit you can use the screw just start hole then do drill loke your taken screw out it will make a hole

How long do you have to let the logs dry out before you can chop them up?
i'm not entirely sure, but the ones i want to really dry i bring inside. that curved stick sat by my woodstove for a season. a lot of people bleach their driftwood to kill bugs etc., but i didn't want to bleach mine :). for the tall lamp inside i dried the wood slice (base) out for 2 years by the woodstove and the long piece for about the same time, but outside.
@@AmandaOffGrid the lamp looks great! You’re talented.
The kelp home with you and have an a meal with it
