Back in the 1980s i met murray at the autosport show. I bought his 1987 f1 review book. Very nice man. Did you know he had a full time day job in advertising ? Motor sport commentary was just a weekend hobby for him.
Two things come to mind. That 2ltr Formula 2 was good but it started to go downhill when they introduced non-production based engines as the Honda and Renault V6s. Secondly, I actually quite liked that old Silverstone. It certainly had some corners for grown-ups.
@@zebop917 what a missed opportunity. The 136 mph laps round old Silverstone are incredibly quick. Like F1 speed from the 1970s with only 340hp. Can you imagine how fast a turbo ground effect car might have been in 1984. That Ralt plus 700 hp.
Thank you for this video ,i was a Mike Thackwell fan 😀

Those Ralts were beautiful and what a battle!

Wow. That was a finish.
I was there..Woodcote grandstand
Wow F2 in the Snow. How could they race on slicks in a snow storm ? Which month was this race ? March ? November ?
Why didnt other teams buy Ralt Honda cars ?
If only it was that simple. It was the works team and they didn’t produce replicas for sale.
