Could we get more speculation on what happened with icarus and the other lion. What can happen to cause.
George and Yame 🥰🥰. Cannot believe those cute cubs have grown into such beautiful lions. Thank goodness Icarus and Unathi are okay. Beautiful Vayetse. I never get tired of watching him and his girls.
The way Kev recognises that Unati is a bit off and he quickly gets inside that little enclosure and closes down the gate for safety, that clearly shows us the amount of experience and awareness he had while handling his lions; and I am a bit relieved both Unati and Icarus recovered from that "tipsy" behaviour and nothing serious comes out of it.

They didn't seem distressed in any way - I saw nothing that would worry me re Kevin's safety but he obviously detected something and felt it was a good time to play safe.
pmailkeey when icarus jumped into the truck, he kept falling over. Until Kevin went behind the gate, no clue Unati was off too. Us not being right there, it’s easy not to see.
@@OriginalMomo I could see that they weren't right but they didn't seem to be distressed or aggressive or anything that would indicate Kevin was at risk. The first loaded without showing signs of not complying - just having a bit more difficulty than usual in complying.
Do they have magic mushrooms in SA ? Maybe been on the cannabis :)
Kevin says in another video that Unathi is always grumpy and short tempered so I guess he's always on his guard around this lion. Doesn't Kevin say he always checks out any lion's behaviour before he enters the enclosure?

Seeing the concern on Kevin’s face had me worried. So glad the boys recovered. Much respect for how quickly he identified the situation and exited the enclosure! My instinct watching the video was to try to comfort them like I would my dogs. This clearly shows the difference and Kev’s expertise.

I don't think 'comfort' was needed as they didn't seem stressed, just a bit wobbly. - been on the magic mushrooms !
They are not dogs. Always be on guard when dealing with four hundred pound cats.

They are wild animals and even if Kev may have raised them from birth or most of their life, he knows and respects the fact that these magnificent creatures are and will always be wild at heart. Kev clearly respects these beautiful wild animals enough to recognize when the situation needs him out of the way. Even if there is no gate, Kev probably does have some amount of caution and planning and presence of mind to act before the lions react to him being there.
I see a lot of people not respecting nature and think of lions as some domestic cat or dog, each of these felines are characters in their own right, in their own environment, they have graciously accepted Kev.

At the moment Kevin realises something is wrong with Unati, you suddenly see how incredibly skilled and aware he is at what he does. We are so used to seeing the good things that happen but as soon as something looks off we dont even realise yet Kevin acts fast. Its very incredible to see actually.

Kevin sure does know his lions, and what their normal behavior is. And tipsy lions is NEVER going to be a good thing. My favorite part was Vayetsi demanding his belly rub before departure. He and his 2 girls just make me SOOOO happy. Love those three silly cats!
How do they do birth control with these lions? Injections?

I am glad he knows them so well, he knew to back up into the shelter & close gate. Kevin, that was a close strike.
Thought so too. Next time try to catch those signs a bit earlier and not go into the enclosure in the first place please :)

This was amazing. When he stepped in the den I was confused then icarus growled and swatted and I was even more confused. Kevin knew what was on. How astute and calm he was about it. As if it was routine. It is imperative one is trained and experienced when caring for wild animals. Things could go horribly wrong so quickly. Good on you Kevin. Well done!
One of the MANY qualities that sets Kevin apart from the others is his immense respect for the lions. Kevin could sense things were not right with Unathi and Icarus. So, instead of forcing himself on them, he gave them their space. Kevin is remarkable!
Agree 100% he let's the lion guide his behavior, he goes off their cues. They are not there for his entertainment he treats them with tremendous respect.
That was amazing how Kevin knew to shut himself in the cage. 😍
I can't believe Kevin's senses, he quickly found out that somethings off about Icarus and moved away swiftly 1-second delay and he might've been injured by now

Injured? He probably would have been killed. Unless he has armed personnel keeping watch 24/7. The other Lion that was in the truck would have joined the fight.
I love George & Yame! I remember when they first arrived at the sanctuary. They've come a long way! 💕🦁🦁💕

I am so impressed with you Kevin. The way you read those two and how wobbly they were on their legs, and the way you casually slipped inside there and shut the gate. I am in awe of those abilities. I know you have many years experience with your cats, but what you just did there was instinct and no ego involved which most human beings let get in the way...brilliant.

The lioness is so smart. She knows she can get food if she refuses to get in the truck. I just love her mind. Lol
This video has restored my faith. I recently viewed footage of carers in a Pakistani “zoo” trying to place two lions in transport crates by lightning a fire in the enclosure. The lions died. Expertise, knowledge and a personal relationship is the difference between how Kevin treats his lions and those who shouldn’t have these beautiful animals in their care. Thank you Kevin for being the example all carers should emulate 🙏❤️

animals are scared of firre, it really shows that the lion would rather die than follow the person to the crate
How awful these lions died so unnecessarily in the hands of uneducated keepers. Thank goodness for our wonderful Lion Whisperer and his keepers and volunteers at his sanctuary. All the beautiful lions, leopards, hyenas and all the other animals in his/their care are in very safe and loving hands. Much respect 🇦🇺
So happy to see George loading and off-loading with no help. George so confident, eating the camera lol and not even worrying about his back legs. Just nice to see how far he and his brother have come :)

Kevin, good catch on Their behavior. Was focusing on Ick being stumbling, ... didn’t even see The other one acting wrong... your experience shows through in all situations. Fast work getting behind the gate.
You didn't see them wobbly because they didn't show it to us as Kevin was there many minutes beforehand observing them before going into their enclosure. A lot of footage was probably edited out.

Another brilliant video. Your knowledge and reading of body language of Icarus and Unathi was unbelievable. To know to get outside and away was proven when he attacked. I was wondering why you were doing this, as you have such a strong connection to the lions. You knew he wasn't knowing you and took no chances. Kevin you are amazing.
I love how they look so big! But once they see and sense you they act like domesticated cats! Totaly shows how comfortable they are towards our Dear Sir Kevin! Sending positivity to everyone in this channel🦁🦁🦁

@@ankitnolastname3776 it was moving day today.. I believe Kevin's INTENT was to move ALL THE LIONS that wanted to be moved. We got to see MS Meg, Siam, Echo and Niobi, George and Yamme and Vyatte, Livy and Ginny and was loading Icurus who was acting funny couldn't keep his balance and he looked sedated while he was in truck, then it was time to load Unity and he seemed sedated too kind of out of it...so much so Kevin who was in the enclosure quietly without alarm went into night pen and slowly shut the door and just like that Unity pounced at the night pen door. Kevin noticed Unity acting like he couldn't recognize him and it was a Great observation. So Kevin continued loading Unity from outside the fence and got the 2 woozy boys to their new enclosure. So Kevin could TRY to get to the bottom as to WHY they acted drugged. He checked the feeding roster saw they ate cow and several other lions ate same cow so that wasn't it. And then he checked their enclosure couldn't find anything strange they could of ate to make them look medicated. Couldn't find nothing. So he said he would do more to look into it...and by the time the video was over, they had put on bottom screen that Icurus and Unity were looking MUCH BETTER by the afternoon. So let's pray all is well with Kevin's babies🙏

And yame as far as I know he was acting like a male protecting a female which was george😁so the vet took some hormone tests.but I don't know if yame got back to his normal self by medicine or on his own.....

Everything that this man does, Mr. Richardson..is TRULY important. People need to realise ,how quickly a species can become extinct...The preservation of the Lions is vital.

Always AWESOME to watch moving day...then we get to see others we don't normally see for periods of time. It makes my not so fun week WORTH IT for Friday's to see Kevin his crew and his babies😍❤

Watching Meg not get in, and then get in the truck (with food) reminds me that all cats of all sizes train their masters more than they themselves are trained.

Was very concerned for the boys, glad they recovered without a hitch. Hopefully it doesnt happen again
I know. That was very odd. I thought about that and could not come up with anything. At first I thought they got into some plant, but lions only eat grass for their stomachs, and nothing else. Then I thought maybe they got a hold of some venomous reptile, but they'd both have to be bitten; not likely. Kevin's thought that some horrible person laced some meat and threw it over the fence seemed the most likely, but the sanctuary is pretty remote and I can't imagine someone targeting those two lions. It really is a mystery, but I wouldn't put another lion in that enclosure until I'd walked every foot a couple of times, looking for something. I'm truly happy both lions are well and have had no after effects.💕🦁💕

I often think of you alot, and I never worry for you, because I know you are awesome at what you do.
