First flight of Duo Discus FES 001 D-KXLF

Beautiful day with amazing people with Schempp-Hirth and LZ Design team. I managed to capture some beautiful moments with these passionate and determined people and would like to share them with you.
I had the privilege to fly it that day and it is an amazing sailplane, soft controls, perfect CG, and the FES system is working perfectly.

Chapeau - another Schempp-Hirth masterpiece - i flew already so many of their gliders over the last decades - including flying tow with that 40 plus y/o wooden construction Robin Remorquer DR-400/180 they still use for glider tow to the day ;-)

Actually I wrote this before noticing the glider was towed by a petrol towplane. Does FES not offer self takeoff?

It does on the lighter gliders, but not this two seater.

That was filmed during the covid pandemic, not because of air quality in the glider or anything like that.
