The biggest indicator there's no audience in the close ups is when Lin first comes in after they sing "what's your name man?" No one screams or claps. People always cheer in this part.

Marquis Lafayette, Hercules Mulligan said We fought with him indicating they fought with hamilton in the war, and also indicating in act 2 they fought with him acting Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. John Laurens said Me, I died for him, and also in act 2, he died for him as Philip Hamilton defending his father against George Eacker. Eliza Hamilton, Angelica Schuyler, Peggy Schuyler or Maria Reynold in act 2 said Me, I love him.

the live performance is SO good there's just so much talent from everyone including all of the background singers and dancers. this song remains one of my favorites from the musical its such a fantastic way to open the show and it's so so catchy!!
Totally random fun fact! During her epic number “Satisfied” Angelica has flowers pinned to the neckline of her dress, but in one of the three performances they forgot to attach it. So a little continuity error to keep an eye out for - sometimes it’s there, sometimes it’s gone! . 😜

As far as I understand it, there were 3 filmings, one of which didn't have the audience therefore allowing for the close-ups

It’s a recording of 3 shows spliced together. 2 shows in front of a live audience, with the 3rd show without an audience for the closeups
This was done over three filmings, two with crowds and one without. Then they cut shots from them together into this one film.
