I recomposed Death Stranding's trailer soundtrack into a proper song.
Very few things can inspire me more than Death Stranding.
I tried to stay as close as possible with the original song, without trying to overkill the metal section.
Only in the buildup, where in the original song the percussions start to give a little bit of a rhythm, I also put a good amount of metal drums because... of my ego problems. I'm not even sure it's a good addition.
Perfection wouldn't need any additional work.

@@naughtiusmaximus The instrument, circa; every synth software can make different kind of sounds: basses, leads, pads, plucks and.. drones! Drones are mostly used to create atmospheres indeed :)

@@AramZero yeah Ludvig is an incredible composer, ive been thoroughly enjoying the first games OST both volume 1 and 2, also since I want to become a producer and composer in the future so I look out for these things as well😂

@@Crusaydr Cool! The learning curve is both steep and easily adaptable based on how quickly you want to reach a certain level of production. The really nice thing is how easily you discover new things with each project; honestly, I kind of miss that feeling.
Yeah I produced few songs in few games and couple of movie trailers :)
Plus other projects which are still under NDA.
I usually produce for myself and my community, this is why I often make surveys on "what to do next" etc.

In this particular case yeah, I had to listen multiple times very short pieces of the music.
I already new it would have been tough so I prepared the project with the trailer mp3 file already imported and at sync with the project itself (same bpm).
Then it was all a matter of trying to hear the notes under the voices and fxs, which was the real challenge here. The music was so low in volume while they were talking (and they talk a LOT).
In the meantime I was picking up the best music sections (avoiding to make a 7 mins long track, I usually stay on the 3-4 minutes range) creating similar sounds to the original one :) and remain focused to go as BIG as possible in the metal section. It’s like my signature among all of my tracks.
Edit: also you’d be surprised on how me and its composer are similar, style wise.
He’s a brilliant writer tho, that piano score is something else.

I'm actually interested in game design myself, but more from the art perspective (my dream job would be a concept artist or an illustrator!), and while you can't have most games without visuals, you cannot have them without music as well. I did dabble in music when I was a kid, singing mostly, but the love of it is still there. Might pick it up a bit some time, who knows! People like you make me really inspired to do things y'know.

You're not the first one asking me to do so, but that is pretty tough, because low roar has a veeery specific voice, I don't sing yet and I don't know any singer with a similar voice.
I could use HIS actual voice recording with the stem creator but then I couldn't upload it on the stores and that would be a huge loss for my spotify page which needs to be constantly fed for the algorithm.
So I'd rather prefer invest my time to create powerful instrumental where I try to compensate the lack of voice with other instruments (orchestras and guitars, mainly 😂)

Im not sure what kinda instrument they used in the original (it might even be a very complicated synth) but this solution felt similar enough to my ears.

To produce music I use FL studio, plus maany other libraries and plugins; east west for the piano and orchestras, serum for synths and my very real 8 string guitar + kemper for the guitars.
Then there's the mixing part of the production, where I use few Izotope softwares, reverbs and so on. The list is quite long haha

May I ask what's the high pitch sound introduced at 3:47 made from? Some small concussion instrument?
Nice pick! This is a digital synth from Serum (a music production software) I bought on Splice, and it really is a good one. It's a very complex and well made synth where if you turn some particular knobs, the sound changes quite radically. (plus a good amount of personal production effects)
Consider that is the SAME synth that you hear at 3:58, where is pretty warm and soft while fading out towards the final "boom".

It's very likely imo. The song at the very beginning of the first game was simply magical, and EVERYONE who played felt the magic, and spoke about it, so I suppose that is part of the art direction of the IP itself. I hope so!

I don't really think it'll ever be released anywhere. I've been working a lot in the trailer industry and most of the time they're not released (this is one of the reasons I quitted tbh 😂)
Wait for the game launch, when the previous game launched they uploaded the whole music, also from the trailers.
