Removing hook from finger (Warning Graphic)

- In this video I get hooked past the barb for the very first time.
I was fortunate enough to get it out.
I recommend to do what's best for you if you ever come across this situation.
If you do decide to get the hook out yourself.
Remember it's always best to reach out to your doctor and get put on antibiotics.
Here's a list of the gear I used below.

My man! Many of us out there feel your pain! I took an ewg to the leg a few years back. Had to do the same thing, push it through and cut the barb. You handled that like a champ! I didn't have a channel at the time, so no camera and plenty of cursing! HAHA Thats's a nice looking blade. Good luck to all!

Yeah this summer's been a strange one. Seems to be obstacles after obstacles. It all started with the Canadian smoke fires. Then waiting a month for GoPro to send me a replacement camera. Mine got water damage. Then I receive the camera & then felt crappy from that damn tick bite.

I'm really surprised it took that long for it to happen to me. As much as I fish. I always took pride in being able to say never been hooked past the barb. Every dog gets his day.😂

It happens to us all man don’t feel bad about it. I hooked myself in the corner of the eye where it meets your nose when I was 6/7 years old. That was probably the worst pain I’ve ever felt when the doctor pushed it through to cut the barb off.

I was just like you up till this incident. Been jabbed by the hooks scraped but never passed a Barb. It definitely was painful. The most painful part was pushing it through the rest of the way. Surprisingly skins pretty tough it's not that easy to push it through. It takes quite a bit of pressure.
Smart idea to definitely keep something in the car.

@@neilbonefishing That’s good, I remember getting a rebel craw snagged across a creek one time. It came flying back towards my face, I caught it in the palm of my hand. Wasn’t juicy, lol.

Neil just as a tip for the future since I've been hooked a ton lmao. When u do the piercing trick u don't have to cut the whole hook point off just crush the barb and u should be able to bring it back thru u almost turn it into a barbless hook. Which is pretty much like a needle. We crush most of our treble hook barbs when going striper fishing for that purpose. Cause getting a 3x hook in the hand is not so easy to push thru lmao.
I did attempt to crush the barb in the video. Then started second guessing myself. I started to Think 🤔 💬 Man if I pull it and I get it halfway through and then it gets weird on me I'm going to regret just not cutting it. Hopefully it does not happen again but if it does. I will try to crush the barb down. Very good information. Thank you very much for Sharing 👊

Not in the trash if that's what you mean. I threw it around after I got the hook out my finger. Then went out the next day and caught a bass on it.

This must be the year of finger hooking. Damn about a month ago i caught about the same size but a smallmouth and shit i went to er and had them push it threw
That sucks to hear that. I know it happens fast. Probably a good thing you went to the ER. I'd imagine they gave you some antibiotics. Did they at least numb your finger before pushing it through?
