- This place in North Siargao blew our minds, we've never seen anything like it! In our hunt for home inspiration we discovered NoaBangka, an airBnB home rental on a stunning patch of land in a remote part of the island. The owners built the whole place by themselves and we are super impressed with how it looked. Definitely one of the most Instagrammable places in Siargao and the perfect place to stay if you find yourself at the top of the island.

Our names are Jmayel, Sacha & Story. We traveled to Siargao island with Jmayel's mum & Story's grandma just before the Global pandemic that sent the whole planet into quarantine. We got stranded for months and fell in love with island life, now we want to make that life more permanent.

That is a nice looking house, quite unique as I have not seen anything like it.
I started appreciating concrete counters, we recently stayed at an AirBnB in a very rural Pennsylvania. Almost like Philippine-like, and the road is just gravel for miles and miles, although the main road is still asphalt.

Stop associating everything you see in Siargao to BALI. Siargao is siargao, BALI is Bali. I understand you are a sweet family and loves to compare, but dont take away the pride from Siargao…. Please see and understand where i am coming from rather than allowing other commenters to tell me i am an idiot and then delete my post. On another video where you stayed at a resort with a pool and stargazed at night, you associate the house and its wall decors to BALI and even the ladscape you referred as “BALIesk”… and you (correct me if i am wrong) have not even been to BALI.

love that shape of the cottage and yes it does remind me of a chapel. I thought it would be nice to have a screen on the open areas just to limit the bugs coming in at night, but again it might ruin the vibes of the area. I hope you have a nice comfortable sleep and hopefully less mosquito bugs. i remember seeing that place build at one of the Canadian vloger, and it is great to see the final finished product. Love the style, let us know how your evening went and what the advantage and disadvantage of the type of design.

It’s a beautiful fresh cool house but what I am worried when typhoon hit the rain will get through to the not close windows and walls.But yeah for good weather is perfect.
The openness by the ceiling of certain traditional houses (and an indigenization of the Spanish period "Bahay na Bato") usually has openings or slats close to the ceiling as a tropical feature / to facilitate breeze and airflow between rooms. :)

Wow, it truly is a beautiful place. I also love the design. If you were to build something similar you would need more bedrooms/workspace, plus also some more storage space. If I was building in this design I would build two buildings, one housing the bedrooms/bathroom, and the other your kitchen & living/work space.
That is definitely a beautiful house and quite unique, too, and to think that it was built by the owners all by themselves...wow!
The tall roof allows the heat to rise up and be replaced by a breeze from the ends of the house and from the roof edges. The internal air will remain cool and rain water will drip off the roof down to the edges. The outside shower pipe allows one to rinse off easily after a dip in the sea or after walking on muddy soil. It might be possible to add an internal loft for a sleeping platform with an extra foam mattress and mosquito net.

With this beautiful design they could have add a loft to have anther room. It's a great idea nonetheless.
Cool house. Kinda reminds me of a church but also of Morocco minus colorful tiles. That space feels zen, calm, peaceful and cool too. Whoever made that was ingenious blending the elements like that.

I can think of some problems if not dangers with the house -- intrusion, as in any place but maybe much more in light materials,
termites, so attracted to bamboo, you will do a lot of repairs but you can grow fast growing bamboo( all of the
kinds), lack of privacy and and sometimes peace and very importantly, fire safety ( that's why a lot of houses in the Philippines are now concrete). I am a bamboo grower and would like a nipa hut for relaxing but my house is fire safer. Look for the young Filipino whose design with engineered bamboo and concrete house won top award in UK among 1200 participants recently. Google CUBO MODULAR

The typhoon videos past few days ago keep making us cry and sad but this one is exceptionally have a funny side like the showering thing and etc. It’s nice to see that Story’s cheerfulness always prevail in whatever situation your facing. She’s such a happy kid and we love her for that. She’s like a sunshine after experiencing that destructive storm. We’re also glad with the kindness of your landlady bcoz she really takes care and look after with your needs guys. I have visited Santa Monica two years ago. It's a very nice place. But if you're interested to build a house it should be concrete to protect you all for a typhoon might arrive. The strongest typhoon was 1984. It happen when I was teaching at Surigao City for 10 years.
I'm watching this video on January 9, 2022... nearly a month after Super Typhoon Rai or Odette obliterated Siargao..

i dream of a life that you are experiencing right now. far from the city life. peaceful yet surprising. you don't have to wake up early and go to work. You don't have to deal with your boss. Your boss is your own self. i love to have a life like yours, simple.
Nice rest house. Those small coconut trees planted beside the house could grow much taller
w/in 5-10 years and could produce young coconuts..but it could be dangerous if its Buko fall on the roof of the house.
It's a good thing that you guys including Story are not afraid of dogs..🤗🤗🤗

It's so nice "cathedral house design". I'm always watching your blog and I love your cute princess " Story " it reminded me of my grandchildren although they are both boys (matthy 12 & lucas 4). By the way I hope you won't be offended I just have a suggestion this is because every time I watch your blog and seeing Story wearing her 'spaghetti' style dress, it always fell off from her shoulder I just pity her like that, kindly tie the two string at the back portion like ribbon style so it won't fell off.
