  • Fishing with worms is probably one of the best fishing methods out there. It's great for beginners and it can help you catch huge fish. You don't need complicated rigs or baits to enjoy a day out fishing. You can simply go out in the garden or find a grassy area, and find your some worms to put on the hook. Graeme gives you some Totally Awesome Fishing tips. He goes through his simple float fishing set up, as well as how to hook the worm. We hope you enjoy the video.

    Hi Graeme,
    Another great video. Seems like the weather was good for you that day. Its been horendous up here in Scotland. Very frustrating when all you want to do is get out there and enjoy time on the water whether you catch or not. The wind is the worst. Nice video. Worms are obviously a great universal bait and will catch anything but is there any reason to want to fish with them instead of maggots? and while i like the worm and maggot cocktail you did in this video to catch those fish, you can still catch them on just a single or double maggot. Making that cocktail just takes longer, more time spent fishing and less time on the bank means more fish you catch.
    I like your videos and you're a good guy, a true character of an angler! you look a little bit and sound like Bruce Forsyth lol.

    With the colder weather coming, how far into the winter will I be able to do this? Are there any tactics I need to know to catch fish in very cold conditions. I've been out trying dropshotting five times and have only had one take, and that was a bream that took a spinner and got off. The Norfolk broads are of course tidal with salt water getting in during spring and higher tides , do i need to plan for this?

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi David,
      Worms can work all year round. They are one of the best baits for Perch fishing so definitely give it a go. Even legered worm works well, using just a split shot or running rig. As for the dropshotting, I would use small plastic lures, not spinners. As spinners are generally designed to be jigged or pulled through the water quite fast. A small soft plastic lure about 2-3" will be best for dropshotting. Hope that helps - Mike

    • @muskie2543
      @muskie2543 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey David, and TAFishing, wouldn't thé famous DropLob work too in the winter? David seems to have some dropshot gear, I reccomend him to go and check out your DropLob if he Santa to use worms

    • @davidharvey5672
      @davidharvey5672 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TAFishing Thanks everyone. Mike I have been doing mainly dropshot as per your instructions but wasn't having an luck and just tried a couple of casts with a small spinner. After loosing the fish and not getting another take I went back to dropshot. I have tried a lot of worms including on a ledger and one time on a float rig and a lot of hours over 5 or 6 sessions with various size and colour lures. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or just unlucky at this time. I will be trying again soon.

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +David Harvey It sounds like the Perch just aren't there. Perch are shoal fish, you need to keep moving around different areas until you find them. There could also be Pike around the area and Perch won't necessarily feed if Pike are there. I would say keep moving to different areas until you hit into some fish

    hi graeme, I would a lot of sea fishing but we're I live it can be very very weedy, after seeing your pop up rig I was wondering could u use that in the sea just to lift the hook out of the weeds a bit as well as giving the worms more of an attractions be cuz of the current?

    That stonework around the bay like that is really awesome. Looks so nice, like you can just get yourself a few drinks at the pub and right next to do some fishing. Is the water pretty clean? Do you keep them and eat them at home?

      +TAFishing I would agree, so underrated. we use fresh cut or live bait but we always bring worms you never know when you need them and often not, when the fresh cut is scarce worms turn up action. Not to mention, worms catch us drums pretty quick and those get turned into fresh cut. keep a few dozen in the fridge all year. fantastic video once again.
