Guys, you are both an absolute inspiration. Hands down you guys and Graeme from TA Fishing make the best fishing content on youtube! This video made me go out and use some worms on the canal today and I obliterated my pb for Perch,I have only had wasps up to today, until I caught a 1 1/2lb fatty. Not up to your standards yet! Please keep doing what you are doing, creating amazing content. Your parents must be exceptionally proud!
Some times this is one of the most fun ways to fish, on a small stream with such a natural bait and boi oh boi can it do wonders! There are some cracking fishing in some of the small streams
The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel th-cam.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.
Hello. The river there is about the same size as my local river the Ouzel in Milton Keynes. How I envy you with your clear banks and what looks like relatively weed free waters. The Ouzel is from 1’ deep to 5’ or 6’ deep, wide and narrow, but on 90% of the stretch I’m allowed to fish the water weed is as high as all that weed on your banks. There are just a few places to fish when it’s not raging through the narrow gaps.
Brilliant. I always wondered how you put a dropshot onto your line. I have never done any drops hotting because of that. I'm definitely going to give it a go. Cheers.
Hi Carl, hope you are well. Just curious how well this tactic works if your casting out a longer range into deeper water in say loch for instance? or is this method strictly better for closer-range fishing?
I tried going out for perch here in Sweden yesturday after a 2 week very cold period where the lakes were frozen in ice. Dug up some worms in my garden went down to my closest lake and caught a decent perch on my first cast on the drop shot with worms 😀 They didn't even nibble at the artificial lures but took the worm instantly
I just have never really got into drop shotting, in the main because I just cannot tie that knot lol! And I've had such little luck with ready tied rigs too where I kept losing weights. Looks a blast though! :-)
Hi mate, I live in Brighton so, not too far from you really, and the nearest stockist I can find to buy worms is in Pevensey Bay, do you get yours more locally? If so, where?
@@fishingtutorials Absolutely mate, I fish Saint George's Park lake and I'll try Bodle Brothers, it's not too far from there, although I've never been there, I might go this afternoon actually, it'll be a nice suprise for my wife who fancies a ride out somewhere, apparently!😄
@@fishingtutorials No, we had unexpected visitors,🤨 so It'll be later in the week, probably tomorrow, thanks for the head's up about Bodle Brothers, have a great week mate!
I haven't fished before. Do you have to plan in advance and get a permit? Seems like a pain in the ass and expensive. Is there a way around this? The idea of just wandering aimlessly and have a fish is nice, but the planning and paying puts me off
Nice video! Can u please make a video on how to bottomfishing with just simple worms or other baits for bream and other fish? Love ur videos keep it up! 👍
I use line instead of braid. I stretch it. Wind on reel tie to a fence and walk 100 m then stretch it you will be able to feel it. You no yiu got it right when you wind in.
Cut the worm in two and hook it in the middle, like this you can catch more fish with the same worm. I started to raise worms in my cave because of the price (and i have a very good salary, but 3 pounds for 10 worms, it's abusive)
Such small stream fishing is awesome. I started fishing that way and caught lots small fish of different species (barbel, roach, asp, grayling...) but now theres and invasive species which pushes the local species aside :(
I use a short side line, around 15- 20cm on a kickback rig... about 0.5 to 1gram of weight on the end. Some maggots on a hook 14 or 16. Works amaaaazing.. even on the top 30cm of the water, just less weight and the tip high in the air and fishing it faster
For fishing like that in Poland I would go to prison for 3-5 years for poaching 😂 Really. Can't use organic bait when fishing with this method, it's soo illegal :| Love your rod and reel btw.
Ownership of the two channels is still 50/50 and the editing work is split between us. However I really like fishing so I often ask Alex to let me fish whilst he films haha :)
Good lads you keep up the great work. I know all to well how hard it is keeping a good relationship between brothers whilst working together. Love your videos lads highlight of my weekend.

From a cold December day the look of that golden summer evening sun is just what I need to warm me up.
Great easy to understand explanation.
Nice video guys! dropshot fishing is great fun with worms!
Nice one Carl. Looks like great fun and a brilliant way to fish if you can only spare a couple of hours. Btw what a cracking Perch.
It’s a lovely, old school and active way of hunting fish, and what a perfect location, lighting, and location, nice bit of virtual fishing.
Love it, cheers Geoff!
@@fishingtutorials looks a cracking bit of river, had my first carp today on a centrepin so I’m happy 👍
Good work!! Well done!
Great bait worms. Nice you’re showing people how to use them properly Carl 👍 another top show
This is the sort of informative adventure that hooked me. THANKS !
That was a cracking chub mate. Good Work 😊
The whole video was so peaceful. Thank you.

Loving your channel Carl, a great find for a newbie 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice n simple , great explaining
Hey I love your vids man I’m 12 and
they have helped me so much so keep up the good work
Cheers Elliot :) I'm so glad, tight lines mate!!
Classic loved that. An similar. Edge in a way to working a fly through the water
Another cracking vid lads keep up the good work 👍
Meanwhile it’s 30 degrees and snowing here in Germany, but dropshotting with worms can be effective in the cold water
52cm Perch my first 50+ ever :D LG from Austria bud
Nice. This similar to my main way of fishing. In Australia I often catch eel, carp, red fin and crayfish with this method
Brilliant. I always wondered how you put a dropshot onto your line. I have never done any drops hotting because of that. I'm definitely going to give it a go. Cheers.
Good explanation on drop shot rig Carl I bass fish and that works great for bass also
Something I’ve never tried but definitely going to! Great video 👌🏻
finaly another small stream video
great vid lads.
is Alex's twin sister in the bumble advert that keeps popping up on TH-cam?
another great video boy's, thank you

I've waited all morning for this 😂🐟🐟🐟
My first freshwater trip was on a tiny stream and I thought I was wasting my time until I caught a lovely chub it’s the best👍🏻
Honestly small streams can hold some cracking fish and they can be quite fun to fish as they are so peaceful
Ggs mate great vid keep up the great content
Love your videos guys keep it up
Awsome video guys much love
Awesome video, as always. Mega inspiring and informative 🙂
Thanks so much Johnny :) Glad you found it helpful!
So when you pass the line through the hook is it floro or the line on the reel
Nice epic video guys
I like this for perch , I also like to add a small 1/64 oz split shot above the hook , gives the worm a bit more action
Hello Carl hope you're well, just wondering what type of rod and reel you are using there. :)
Great vid 👍
you help me with all my methods when i am fishing

Hi mate! I get mine from Bodle Bros near Burgess Hill is not far from off the A23 north of Brighton :) If that helps?

What happened to your Swedish Perch drop shotting video from several years back, as it seems to have disappeared?
I think it got copyrighted for the music :(
That’s a shame, I really enjoyed that one and it got me into the Lunker City Ribsters 😉
could i do this with a 15-40g rod in ponds for perch and rivers for trout? using a 1oz weight
Yes! But you might find you’d be better with a 1/4 or 1/3 ounce weight as it’ll make less splash and will be easier to cast
@@fishingtutorials what other methpods should i use to catch perch and trout in ponds and rivers with this rod?? thanks for the reply
'Let it sit on the bottom and jiggle it around gently'
We need an out of context carl and alex quotes page
Nice to see you taking a leaf out of Chris's book
Another amazing video!
Great content 🔥
How do you find your fishing spots for winter?
Amazing video, where is the place?
Grate vid keep it up
Thank you! :)
Fair play, still learning 👍
What would a chub be called here in America? Because I don't recognize that fish. Or does America even have those?
Nice video

The idea of just wandering aimlessly and have a fish is nice, but the planning and paying puts me off
Yeah. Sit on the couch.
1 question, would a spinning rod work for dropshotting?
Yes, however they are often less sensitive in the tip, so harder to spot bites. It will work fine for sure, but not 100% efficiency!
@@fishingtutorials Thank you for the info!
You're welcome! :)
What a vid well done 🔥🔥👏🏻👏🏻
I was fishing this method the other day I hooked into many twig fish I felt like a landscaper haha
How many grams do you prefer to fish with?

Are you guys fishing in the UK? Because the weather sure as hell hasn't looked like that for months where I am.
Im from the states and thats whats i though.
Better day fishing then me well dun buh
If you want a next level knot for your braid to leader look up the FG knot and practice practice practice!

Let’s appreciate everything they do do for us rather then something that they havnt!🤷🏻♂️
Noice vid 👍
Thanks mate! :)
this must be a old recording because this is not the english weather right now
Yeah a couple of months ago!
Why do you pull the head off the worm before you hook it tho? Can't figure that one out 🤔.. Nice video and fish!
It’s to let out some scent! The fish find the worm quicker in murky water if it’s broken. Think of sharks finding blood or something haha :) 👌

Take a few. Weights incase you lose 1. Ye Or 3 weights In ya first five mins lol
