I remember watching this video, it’s actually the one that got me hooked into the channel. Must’ve been about 8 or 9 years ago now that I saw it, can’t remember exactly when I feel old now
I see the days coming when tons of people spend 5 hours clicking through thousands of videos, finding this one and commenting: "this was were everything begun..." xD
I miss this series, I remember checking back for the longest time to see if a new episode was made and got reminded of it when I saw your most recent Civ vid, not bad for a 7 year old video😂
Wow to think I was in 5 grade Wacthing you I love you and thanks for the great childhood you gave me you got my though hard time and I appreciate you thank you
Oh the old days... so different. You're channel has grown... a bit. And you've gotten a lot better. I remember watching this the when you first made it. You're current WWK vids have gotten far better. Progress!
You know, when I first saw this series on my recommendations sidebar, I didn't want to watch it, but I finally decided I would, and I am really glad I did. Excellent videos!
Thanks, I'll have to have a look at that! A damage API would be great as at the moment the 80 impact tolerance steel panels are practically unbreakable... although projectiles still seem to pass through... That's all in addition to the fact that a proper damage system would be amazing.
Yup, the harrier is a beautiful piece of work. I skipped having a second engine set because partly it would damage the first when rear-facing and also because adjusting two set in-flight could get tricky.
Why thanks you my good sir! I just pop back to this video and... wow. Like almost 200k views... that's... insane. I mean, less than half a year ago I would watch videos that got 200k and be impressed by the scale of those views! It is so weird going from that to this, going from watching Harv and Scott to chatting with them. Crazy times!
Haha, thanks man! Tbh I suck as planes, but with VTOLs it's all about having the lift and mass and vertical thrust all in the same place, lift and mass can differ a little but the vertical thrust MUST be at the mass. I'll try and fit in another one with VTOLs in future but my recent attempts to make a VTOL-flying-fortress-gunship haven't gone particularly well... *may those poor Kerbals rest in pieces*
Thank you for this, Elysium. Stansell Aerospace Division is now fully armed and totally not creating amazing TH-cam video series' like this one. Maybe someday... But for now, we've got the tools we need to dish out some serious damage. Subscribed, and thumbs-upped. Looking forward to the rest of the series, EE.
The boat is a mix of parts, I'll probably do a spotlight on the Styx Corp. vessels at some point but for now... The parts include: Guns from PiratedWeapons Missiles from Romfarers Lazor Mod The cabin from modular multi-wheels One segment from the B9 Aerospace pack Some fuselage segments from TV Aerospace so that the hull comes together at the front I think that's it... oh and of course my logos. And thanks! :)
Damn, both are great choices! With great longevity due to mods! Must point out that Notch was initally against allowing MC mods, oh how wrong he was...
Watching this in 2021, confirmed that this was a great reason to buy a great game. It’s sad to see the game come to a close but I’m excited and hopeful some form of this might come back when 2 comes out
Love the mention of the F-35. World's most expensive paperweight. My brother told me about a movie where someone insinuates that the Air Force is going to 'scramble' the F-35's. If I were the villain in that movie, I'd put the kettle on. I'd be waiting a while.
If I could offer a few improvement suggestions? You could put 2 more jets like the real harrier, arrange them in a rectangle near the nose and tail on the body. RCS thrusters could also be placed on the nose, tail, and wing tips to act as the air nozzles for faster and crisper direction change. Lastly, apart from the gatlings being inaccurate from the plane bobbing, they could be placed on angled pylons to establish a convergence point and make aiming easier. Great plane, great vid.
Possibly, however that might signal the end of the Kerbal race and it might be a little difficult for me to make videos of a post apocalyptic Kerbin... although that does sound awesome.
It was on the forum but they had a wipe recently and it seems to have disappeared and not been reposted, it's been a while and DYJ hasn't reposted it so I might well put it up temporarily until it gets reposted if I can find the original file. If so I'll mention it next episode.
I made some custom parts and used some logos I knocked up in photoshop for textures. They still cast shadows even while transparent though which is a shame. It's based on the Your Label mod, if that survived the forum purge.
I recorded a 100 subscriber special yesterday of Surgeon Simulator which I have yet to edit (hopefully this weekend). Seems like I might not be able to keep up!
Damned Robotics, specifically the Rotatron from that. The KSP forums and spaceport seem to be down at the moment however so you might have trouble getting hold of it.
Wait... those downpoint of the Harrier apply to helicopters more so. Plus 'hovering jet' is a bit of a mis-label. They can hover however if you do so for more than aiding in taking-off and landing you will find yourself without any fuel very quickly. Also. They are great for use on small aircraft carriers.
Roman mythology, Elysium being the plains in the afterlife where heroes go, hence 'entering elysium'. I tend to name all my random stuff after mythological bits and bobs, plenty of stuff to draw on.
adding motives to your objectives and using amazing mods to complete those objectives. now all i need to do is muster the strength to stop watching the video long enough to hit subscribe
I liked the harrier... but I always will love the f-22 raptor. You did manage to make a vertical take off craft... and it went vertical after a vertical take off. It wanted it's nose to sniff the sun.
I haven't reached 11 yet, it'll have to wait till tomorrow, I've got an exam at school in the morning so don't want to spend all night watching videos, but this will be my last exam, so I'll have plenty of time from tomorrow onwards, can't wait. Thanks for all the great videos.
I dont know what inspired me to come back here but the memories are flooding back. This series is what sold me on KSP
brings me back to middle school!!
rewatching now while playing ksp lol
It is kinda odd seeing Elysium without the characteristic quips, dead-pan, and overall personality he does now.
It's disconcerting. :S
AngelOfTheMad It's even odder after ten more months.
+AngelOfTheMad Yup
+StyxDominion22 he is so different now
I am speechless.
The good old days, it's been so long, I remember being young and waiting for the next video of this series.
I remember watching this video, it’s actually the one that got me hooked into the channel. Must’ve been about 8 or 9 years ago now that I saw it, can’t remember exactly when
I feel old now
Re-watching this in 2019
Make that 2020...preparing for the real thing
@@devildogradar4599 2021 right here

First experience in kerbal warfare
@@thedrunkenknight trust me, WWK 3 is the best series although it was cut short
ahh... memories :') i remember subscribing after watching this video, the time where he only had 100-200 subs
Some of you are quite obviously lying. For example, brandon
I also subbed as one of the first 1000. :D
The Flying Gasmask subbed between 2000-3000 subscribers
The Flying Gasmask subbed between 2000-3000 subscribers
I was subbed at 120 k
I'm the odd one out again

The best reaction to having a multimillion dollar plane destroyed by missiles.
Yea, I had a good laugh at that, too.
Most amazing acting ever I felt like I was really there!
swumprat (no emotion) welcome to another attack by the Styx corps and this time, a doomsday device went off(screaming in the background)
Jason Ross To be far it was his early recording career
+Jason Ross ahhhhh the old EE
Elysium, Please, please bring back this series! It was such a good series! This is what actually got me into your channel, it was just so good!
it's 2023 and this still makes me smile
I see the days coming when tons of people spend 5 hours clicking through thousands of videos, finding this one and commenting: "this was were everything begun..." xD

Of course imperator. Naturally I shall fall on my sword immediately.
Very well. The Grammar Gods grant you back your honor.
TheJCprogrammer Luna *The recently deceased Alex Breeze* : Thanks.
11 is good, my favourite so far. :D Glad you like mate, it's nice to know people appreciate it!

Chris Shot Actually this video is from 2013 so you need to pay more attention.
Hi! Im in 2063! We just launched The Pheonix!
Omg I'm watching this again in 2016. So nostalgic!
Same 2016 Summer!
Me to!!

+Jeremy Mackles I'm watching it in 2017
Sure
And to think this whole war started over Styx being jealous of their funky jet liner...
Quarantine has me looking back at this series and how neat it was
Awwwww, he was so cute when he first started out!
I can't help but imagine what the people on the boat were thinking when they saw your plane testing.
Also, good timing with the missile thing.
That wing was like: Fuck you gravity!
I miss this series, I remember checking back for the longest time to see if a new episode was made and got reminded of it when I saw your most recent Civ vid, not bad for a 7 year old video😂
The memories
Haha, thanks man. Honestly I've only been doing this less than 3 months so far... and I seem to be growing scarily quick! Welcome to the Empire!
Three letters for all your piloting needs: S.A.S.
yes but with S.A.S on he cant steer
Rory Gordon yes he can, have you tried it?
***** you couldn't in old versions of ksp which in this vid he is using
Joe Patterson Ah, sorry, my bad.
A.S.S is better
:D
Although I have to admit I make some mistakes later on when talking about 'flaps'. My apologies in advance!
watching this in 2024 is wild
I love going back to this series when I'm bored. It's probably one of my favourite things on TH-cam. :D
crash landing is still a landing, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
These old videos are so cheesy, I love them
So this is were it all began...
I remember watching this towards the end of 2013 and since then you have been my favourite creator since, keep doing what you do EE
Looking back, Elysium wasn't that good at acting
You say that like I have got better! :P
You have.
EnterElysium you did
ninjacy15 the killer
You have just replied to a comment 2 years old.
wow
WOW...i just watched the latest WWK video...and...coming back to watch it all again...its...wow....

Wow to think I was in 5 grade Wacthing you I love you and thanks for the great childhood you gave me you got my though hard time and I appreciate you thank you
Yeah its sad to see his channel dead now
Fuck! This channel has changed!
ikr i subscribe ages ago but still can't believe how much he and ksp have change
ya he deleted WWk ep.2
Oh the old days... so different. You're channel has grown... a bit. And you've gotten a lot better. I remember watching this the when you first made it. You're current WWK vids have gotten far better. Progress!
Good times
Man, these were the golden days
At 0:00 a master was born!
You know, when I first saw this series on my recommendations sidebar, I didn't want to watch it, but I finally decided I would, and I am really glad I did. Excellent videos!
Why was ep.2 removed????
Wow, I remember when this came out, and I'm still subscribed!
If jebb is pioliting anything is a take off.
The memories, I hope he does a small WWK series for kerbal space program 2
How did you make the boat? :o
building it in vab/sph and driving it to water and entering the water.
Build it in VAB OR use a mod in VAB (boat mod parts) Then drive it to the water somehow using wheels or any stuff then Shoot stuff
I like these more than the new ones.
Thanks man! Although considering I only just started I'm really jazzed about the responses and number of subs already! :D
Why thanks you my good sir! I just pop back to this video and... wow. Like almost 200k views... that's... insane. I mean, less than half a year ago I would watch videos that got 200k and be impressed by the scale of those views! You are literally the best, commentary is brilliant, ideas are brilliant, your voice is brilliant, the game is brilliant. 10/10 :D

I love the jet engine at the beginning that uses it's dying moment to go for the dramatic closeup shot.
Such nostalgia, this series was the reason I ended up subscribing.
What a good time to be watching you tube
Also thanks Elysium for making me buy ksp for $30 years ago it’s served me well
Wow you have changed so much since this came out, I am glad I have been watching you since. :)
Thank you for this, Elysium.

Back from the good ol' days. Years later I'm still playing KSP.
Fantastic first video for a fantastic channel
Man I remember being a kid waiting for all these episodes to come out! What a fucking time man
Uploaded this on my birthday, one of the most entertaining KSP videos i've ever seen.
Only so far as 'let's try this today', the ending if completely up for grabs. And grabs often ends up meaning falling over on our faces.
Damn, both are great choices! With great longevity due to mods! Must point out that Notch was initally against allowing MC mods, oh how wrong he was...
I had no idea this was his first video, I remember this being the first series I watched from him and its pretty damn good!
I just came back to watch this it's amazing
Rewatching again in anticipation of a ksp2 series
First video i've seen of yours, and as soon as you called it an aileron roll, i knew i had come to the right place :D
Just finished episode 9, really enjoying it and I can't wait to see what future episodes hold for the Elysium empire.
i have stead up all night to watch all of your world war k vids they are all epic
I've been suddenly brought back to middle school. Jesus Elysium you are the reason I'm so interested in aviation
Thanks dude, glad you enjoyed!
Just subscribed watching your Rimworld playthrough and found out you do loads of Kerbal... mmm... a day wasted already! Thumbs up!
Glad you enjoy them! :D
Wasted...? :P
Wow, the fact that this was before the F-35 really puts the age of this video into perspective
Your voice, as well as overall style has changed so much
Watching this in 2021, confirmed that this was a great reason to buy a great game. It’s sad to see the game come to a close but I’m excited and hopeful some form of this might come back when 2 comes out

Thanks very much dude, I should have another up early next week!
Possibly, however that might signal the end of the Kerbal race and it might be a little difficult for me to make videos of a post apocalyptic Kerbin... although that does sound awesome.
lol im wacthing this from boredom since i have already wachted all other episodes XD
Haha thanks man! Someone asked the same boat question a few posts below, have a gander down there. :)
It was on the forum but they had a wipe recently and it seems to have disappeared and not been reposted, it's been a while and DYJ hasn't reposted it so I might well put it up temporarily until it gets reposted if I can find the original file. If so I'll mention it next episode.

The wings that were flying on their own were hilarious!!!

Omg this is adorable
So much change for one elysium.
Roman mythology, Elysium being the plains in the afterlife where heroes go, hence 'entering elysium'. I tend to name all my random stuff after mythological bits and bobs, plenty of stuff to draw on.
The last few seconds of the video was amazing
oh my god you have grown super fast in 4 months congratulations on that
God I remember when this first came out. It has been a good 5 years for you EE.
adding motives to your objectives and using amazing mods to complete those objectives.
