I have not made a video showing the set-up of the resources for that yet! I need to though. I will put one together in the coming months as it's on my list of videos to do. If you are in a pinch - we can set-up a tutoring session by messaging me here and I can show you how: tools.pjmss.com/user/Patrick/ Essentially, you need to set your resources to $1/unit, ensure you have auto-compute actuals and calculate costs from units checked, and enter the budgeted cost in the budgeted units field.
I think about 30 minutes. Yes, I record the session and send you a downloadable version; however, you are not allowed to repost. It's only for personal use.
I don't see a message through there - Make sure you create an account and then message me. If it's not working, email info@pjmscheduling.com and I'll connect with you to set up a session.@@lcoley99
hey bro your videos are quite good , can you provide an video on how to update teh project by using a simple 4 activities and calculating the SPI , EVs etc
Make sure that the "Budgeted Cost" column that you are adding is the User Defined Field that you created and not from under the "Cost" category which is for the resources. Feel free to reach out to me through the website at pjmss.com if you are needing help.
This absolutely has value! And I specifically state at the beginning of the video that it's not ideal because you do not get to use the histograms to project future projected costs. But many projects are not interested in projecting cash flow. I've worked on MANY projects where they are simply interested in using the schedule as a tool to help process payment applications. This method quickly allows you to do that. Yes, it's a tradeoff, but if you are looking to cost load a schedule quickly, this allows you to do it quickly without the complications of resource assignments. If you are interested in cost loading using resource assignments, watch this video: th-cam.com/video/F9rZM8RboZ8/w-d-xo.html To say that this has little value might be true FOR YOU, but is not true for others.
Learnt sth new today...Thanks for this
Do you have a video showing how to cost loading that automatically updates through percent complete method?

@PJMScheduling sure. How long will that take to show me how to perform that task and can it be recorded?

@@PJMScheduling so the drop down doesn’t have udf, would one of the listed items be it.
Never mind, I got it. It’s working now. Thanks
Really helpful
Sorry, but this has little value and is not the ideal way since the cost is not time distributed. Best way is to use resource assignments.
