- Today we are house hunting! We are touring a gorgeous 1800's dairy farm. This farm has been in the same family, it started as a dairy farm then turned potato farm, now it is a corn farm. This property is located in Upstate, New York. It is on 116 acres of land featuring 4 houses and multiple large barns as well as beautiful views of the mountains!

Yes! It would be such a dream!! Connor and I are in! One of my families is hesitant because it is about 50 minutes from where we live now but we will see!
Oh my goodness!!!!!! This property has so much potential 😊. I could totally see you having an apple orchard in the fall with pumpkins, a small building to sell fresh apple and pumpkin pies, hot apple cider, etc. Down the road a Christmas tree farm with hot chocolate and cookies for sale. Having your parents on site would be amazing too and a building to home school the children would be ideal. Your dad and Connor would each have spaces for their building and automobile projects. It would be a lot of work but incredible projects for the future......even an Air BNB potential for a couple of the buildings. Just trying to think of potential income ideas for you all 😊😊😊💖

That looks like the perfect place. It does seem like so much work. However you guys are young and that on your side. I am 60 and it overwhelmed me. That is my dream to have all my family live on the same property with each of us having our own home. Good luck and God Bless!!!

I love "old" homes, they have seen so much! I cannot help myself but always wonder how many things those walls have heard, how many steps the floors have felt and how many people have looked through the windows. There is so much in such a simple things as a house how families grew in there.. their stories and adventures both bad and good.

I think with some of your abilities you can refresh this house and turn in it into a dream home, especially the parts that have been let go! You can literally do so much!

I can just see all the families that used to gather on the lawn, drinking lemonade, talking about who will host the next gathering and easily see the future families. When we looked for a first house, we saw a farmhouse in Washington County, MD so much like this one. It seemed like there was a bedroom every time you turned a corner and it had so much character. I quickly shut down thoughts of pursuing it when we found it only had 1 teeny, tiny bathroom accessible thru the main bedroom and, when we saw the attic and basement filled with so much junk. I was so overwhelmed thinking about having to clear all of that stuff out. Needless to say we didn't go for it, but every day that I had to drive by it I had a tiny bit of regret cause it could have been such a dream house but with both of us working in Rockville MD, we would have a little time to do all we wanted to. Knowing your talent for making things over, I have no doubt in my mind it would be something special when you are done.

I love how you take us on the entire showing every time. This one reminds me of that other huge farmhouse. With the long gravel drive way and endless rooms. Whatever you decide, consider that the wetlands from the last video will be mosquito central, which will not be ideal! Best of luck

It would be a yes for me and my whole family's, with my Brother and sisters and their families and their families. The way things are going,at least we would know everyone would be together. But living in their own places on the land.

There is a fungal disease called histoplasmosis that comes from bird droppings. I would think twice about building in a bird house.
My mom’s lungs were messed up with histoplasmosis from growing up around chickens.
we will definitely look into it. if we did everything inside would be completely gutted

Farm land: Are you farmers?...Farming is a lot work!
Double check on how they're growing their corn. If they're using GMO corn and glyphosate, the land is pretty much ruined for any organic farming you may want to do in the future.

Yes! 💕 NY state!
Be careful about buying wetland, really do your homework. It doesn’t always mean just because you may not see a lot of water doesn’t really mean anything. I would talk to your zoning commissioner or someone about building before you purchase. There’s a reason why it hasn’t sold yet. IMO 🤷♀️
100%! They've had engineers come to the land and the next step would be a higher level team. So much to think about!

Im not able to see it. I can only think of how toxic this place would be for our young kids to be living in. Lead for sure is in there, Asbestos maybe also. The electrical would freak me out. It seems charming like in a photoshoot type of way but I'm no contractor so maybe they see it all differently. The land and scenery however is very beautiful.
It's a trade-off. If this was move-in-ready it wuld be significantly more money, considerably outside her price range. At least she knows it's a lot of work. Like it's not hiding anything, lol.

Not trying to be a debbie downer but those houses and buildings have a lot of damage, deterior destruction, water damage and mold. My husband and I have remodeled over the years and it's very expensive, more so now due to ports backed up and consumer demand. Economy is not in anyone's favor at this time. Just really think about the task your getting into taking on a massive project as this. Good luck!

People don't actually live in that house do they?it looks derelict.. you will need alot of work doing and the idea of a tiny house...hmmm it doesn't look safe to be honest,you can see out of the walls /roof to outside between the huge gaps...
The only house being lived in currently is the farmhouse. The one with the paint chipping/tin walls hasn't been lived in for 30 years and the cottage was occupied up until a week ago.
Loved the drive up to the house, loved all the bldgs. and the farmhouse itself. The property is gorgeous. But seriously, how many more times could you say "wow" and "cool"? Ruined the video for me.
