Nice bike, I have a 2012 burgman 400 and I love my bike, very comfortable. I like when people on bikes give me a second look when I'm riding on the highway, often get asked what kind of bike is that. Scooters not common around here in mid-Michigan.
I don't see many motorscooters when I travel around in the USA. Actually quite weird as Americans do know that riding a car with automatic transmission is comfortable, so riding a motorscooter with CVT should be as comfortable as well. OK it is not the same as riding a motorcycle but going from A to B and the possibility to bypass traffic jams by doing some lane splitting (don't know if allowed in Michigan) while riding all comfortable and all, this is a great choice. :) I own a 155cc motorscooter and 650cc twin cylinder motorcycle. Had a 2007 berg 400. On a windless day had it up to 94mph. On a very windy day I passed several semis with buffeting but it was no problem.
The Burgman 400 pre-2017 are faster.

I'm 6' tall and don't want to feel like I am riding a child's bike....hate how they design these scooters and don't put foot pegs or whatnot out front so you can stretch your legs or use a flat seat so you can scoot back as far as you want......
@@jeffquickle3793 I don't know if it is a good deal, really depends on what country you live and you have to check other 2nd hand Burgman 400's to compare. For 6' this is fine and with the Burgman 400 you can put your feet forward.

Had my 2016 up to 105 mph. Very steady.
The older one is faster. This one slower probably do to emission stuff.
@@MotoSnax In this review he but they limit your speed in the 2017. Which make sense. My old 2008 could do about sorry 93 with me on it. I did it twice in 6 years. It was extremely stable up to like 80 - 85 mph.

for 400cc is not less 145 ? at least should reach 160 or more same like before generations of burgman? what do you think?
Yeah, the Yamaha XMAX 300 can reach 156km/h with less cc's. So for a 400cc it is a bit slow. You can't say it is because of Euro4 regulations, because the XMAX 300 also has got an Euro4 compliant engine. But for commuting it is fast enough.
That is true. Now I want to try both X-Max 300 and Burgman 400 to try the 0-100km/h and see which one is faster. Burgman 400 should be faster if it has a different ratio more based on torque than top speed.
You did and it was 0.9 seconds faster the suzuki at 0-100. Obviously picked a quite short gear ratio to make it accelerate fast enough sacrificing the top speed.

@@PoweredByRedstonecom Most people don't get the 650 because of the stretched out design. Crazy thing is the 400 does 5MPH less than my XR 650L...
I loved it. At first that bothered me. Then I got a good seat cushion.
Great bike a true blast to drive. I would take 400 -500 mi trips and it would be stellar the whole way.

@@jeffquickle3793 I owned a 2007 Burgman 650 Executive and rode it till a couple years ago. I am now going to buy a Burgman 400 because it is lighter and gets better gas mileage. To me the single cylinder vibration is like flying in an open cockpit "rumpler" biplane. Like the KLR650, there is nothing wrong with a single cylinder motorcycle.
How stable does it feel at speeds above 100 km/h or so?
It feels stable at all speeds, except for higher speed corners at 120km/h, I wouldn't go that much faster. Probably also depending on the wind and road conditions.

Perhaps next year or so. This year the SYM TL 500. I try to do at least one motorscooter test each year. I do think the XMAX 400 will be faster than this Burgman 400. I was kind of annoyed it stopped at this top speed. Even the XMAX 300 is faster.
hoe voelt de burgman op lange ritten ook op de snelweg ?
Op lange ritten goed te doen wat mij betreft, al klagen anderen over het zadel. Op de snelweg komt het best goed mee, maar de top is 140km/u, dus dat is vrij laag. Maar straks met 100 km/u max overdags, maakt het allemaal minder uit. Persoonlijk had ik liever dat deze een iets hogere top had.

The older 400 is faster. Probably the Euro4 regulations over here in Europe.

Yeah, probably because of Euro 4 laws. But then again, I think the old Burgman 400 should be able to reach 160-170km/h on the speedometer. The X-Max 300 is faster than the Burgman 400.
Most likely it feels so alive and ready to pull hard from low revs, because of shorter gear ratio? I 've seen your 0-100 tests both on XMax 300 and this one, XMax being like 40kg lighter, and this one has considerably faster acceleration.
Alexey would you recommend a 400 for two up driving which includes steep hills? Does it struggle two up on inclines?

Que no pase de 145kmh de velocidad máxima y de marcador,real igual no llega a 140kmh. La velocidad máxima de una Yamaha Xmax 250i año 2007 es de 150kmh de marcador.
Es vergonzoso lo de esta última Burgman 400.
Xmax 250 = Euro2 or Euro3, Burgman 400 = Euro4. But XMAX 300 is also Euro4 and reaches 156km/h, so yeah.. something could have been done better. But like I said in another reply, for commuting it is fast enough.

with malosie clutch and dr pully 21g rollers you will go 90 at 7k rpm instead of redline
That will probably be true. But this 400cc should be going much faster with stock parts.

The Burgmann 400 speedometer is 14% ahead reality, seriously ...
I could not test it but 14% is a lot. That is what you see on Chinese bikes.

I've ran my gnss to test my burg 400 and it's about 7mph off at speeds over 50mph. (70mph = 63mph)

is there any gadget to make it faster?, my brother had a burgman 400 older model, and it does 170kph. my 2018 only goes up to 140kph.
The older Burgman 400 has a different engine. This one is euro4 compliant. Maybe you can change rollers / weights. Or maybe another vario (Dr. Pulley). Not sure why Suzuki made the engine this way, as the X-Max 300 goes up to 155km/h with a smaller engine and that engine is also euro4 compliant

For me they are easier to ride. Only gas and brakes, lot of storage space. The maintenance is higher though. I like both.

The 2017 model is different from what you have, as 110 mph will never be possible for the latest model. What year is your bike from?

It has a rev limiter, but the engine will of course last longer with lower revs. :)

Menuda mierda, 7.000 €, 400cc, 31 cv, 145 kms/h y entrando en la zona roja. Mi scooter kymco de 300 llega a 155 y tiene 32 cv. Me costó 4.500€ con seguro incluido

新型バーグマン400でも145辺りまでしか伸びないんですね。バーグマン200でも138㌔くらいは出ましたが、なんでだろ。
スクーターだからじゃないですか？プーリーの構造は原チャリと一緒なんで最高スピード上げれば低速、中速がもたつと思います。M/Tならスピード出るんじゃないでしょうか？ちなみにバーグマン400ABSは町中やワインディングロード、高速道路もストレスなく走れますよ。

A ver, solo tiene 29,9 cv no llega ni a 30 cv que para ser una 400 es ridículo, existen 300 con mas cv y encima pesa 220 kilos, es normal que no llegue ni a 140 reales, es por los gases, les quitan caballos para poner la euro 4, las primeras burgman 400 tenían 10 caballos más y. pesaban menos

Yep this new Burgman 400 is slow for a 400cc. It is probably restricted somehwere.
