I REALLY like this video style. Fantastic job!!
Great vid as always! Rowboat shenanigans are always loads of fun, but I’d be lying if I said the tedious act of rowing them for so long with so little distance covered, wasn’t a good way to go insane LOL
I was literally just watching one of you older videos, and as I clicked onto your channel I was saying to myself "Cliff, you gotta make a new-". And that's when I saw this gem. Thanks for the awesome content! :)
Honestly this guy deserves more subscribers and attention than he gets. This is some the best content I’ve watched and it got me back into sea of thieves after a year of me quitting
I would suggest doing the treasuries, the spawn is set to the dungeon itself, so you can row between them. You can also increase your survival by bringing someone else. You can rez each other, also you can skip the flag as well so jumping reapers cant find you. You just have one of you return to the ship after you have a lot of loot and the other rows to the nearest outpost. You meet at outpost and raise flag then dock the rowboat. Enough loot should get you to instant 5
After a while watching cliffs videos, I have found new love and kinda obsession to this game, these videos made me want to play sot, only thing he should be ashamed of is that these videos always has to end, the great story telling and humor is perfect
The supply crates despawning is a result of unfortunate bug with rowboats: if you went away from them for 15+ minutes the loot in said rowboat will start despawning in a simillar way it would despawn on islands even if it's docked to the ship or to the new docking spots on the outposts. I've learned both of the aspects of this bug the hard way: I was stacking vaults in Devil's Roar (3 keys on ashen reaches and 5 on fetcher's rest) and was leaving my ship far away from any volcanoes and just sailing with harpoon rowboat to the vaults to do them. The problem was, when I did it with first batch of keys (5 on fetcher's rest), I did an unfortunate mistake of mermaiding back to the ship and sailing it back, but I've rammed a skelly galleon that was behind the rocks my ship was docked at and decided to sail right in front of me while I wasn't expecting it. I've spent around 15 minutes fighting since i was solo and tried to preserve my emissary flag and when I was finished and returned to fetcher's rest, part of the loot (inclduing one of the chests of tributes) have already despawned. On my second batch of keys, I left the rowboat docked to the ship and just swam to the island manually with 3 keys, did all of them, returned back to my ship... and all of the loot except for a couple of chests I've touched recently to be able to use oars were gone. In hindsight, I should have just sold the first batch of loot before doing another 3 vaults, or just used rowboat to sail around instead of leaving it, but at least I've learned a valuable lesson.
I enjoyed your streams a lot. Ohyeah, attempting to fight the sloop that just spawned at the end was probably a bad idea. I laughed a lot when you listened to the chat on your stream and sadly failed. Great video!
I am super glad your TH-cam Channel is doing THAT great! SUPER good content, with that good quality soooo frequent. I am now 3 weeks subscribed and watched every god damn video - Man I watched some even twice. PLEASE stay motivated to make this content.
It's a nice idea and a fun challenge but there's a couple problems: 1. If you do die, or are away from the rowboat for any significant amount of time, it will despawn along with all the treasure on board. 2. The crates disappearing (along with some of the treasure, likely) is due to the fact that loot left on a rowboat is treated the same as loot left on an island in that it will despawn after 1-2 hours. You have to cycle/juggle the loot to reset that timer. Only loot placed on your ship (excluding the crow's-nest for some reason) is protected from despawning. Still a fun way to switch things up though.
@@CliffTheStoryGuy I don't know the exact specifics but I know it's not protected from despawning the way loot onboard your ship is. SoT mechanics are an enigma and it's difficult to differentiate the bugs from the game design
Going on rowboat adventures are always fun. Especially if it is twards pvp and being sneaky while keeping a close eye on another ship. It just gives a whole diffrent experience weather or not its pvp related
I hate when these videos cross my feed. They make the game look like a lot of fun, makes me want to play it again. Whenever I play it though, I inevitably end the game angry and miserable from either toxic players (90% of the ones I encounter, though some people claim to be luckier in that regard), or if I manage to avoid that, a skeleton ambush/Kraken/Megalodon right as I'm trying to finish my session. Last time I played I spent what felt like two hours trying to kill the Emissary of Flame or whatever he's called, the Stitcher Jim guy from the adventure. Finally killed him, I'm tired, I just want to sell my loot and log off. Then cannonballs start flying despite the dense fog that had rolled in. Can't see shit. Turns out a skeleton sloop appeared and started shooting me with unfair accuracy when I couldn't even see it was there. I had no supplies left but somehow managed to sink it. Added to my treasure but it was so not worth the headache. And to anyone who might see this comment and think "sinking ships isn't toxic", that isn't what I said. I just wanted to explore the map and fish. I seem to have the most rotten luck. I finally gave up one day after being grieved for three hours straight. I was at the outpost selling off a handful of fish and checking out the merchant for the customizations for your character. When they decided to destroy my ship, which had literally nothing on it. They proceed to shoot me the back while I’m literally in the merchant screen and then proceeded to all teabag my corpse. Cliff how do you keep coming up with amazing ideas?! I mean you really do creative effort into every vid. If you haven’t done already done Pirates Life Tall Tales could you make a series about that? Keep up the amazing work bro
I've been using this method since this video came out. It's not efficient, but it's my favorite method for gaining gold. Simply because I don't play for pvp, and I don't care if anyone here hates me for saying it!
If you cannon as far away as you can from the island and mermaid back, it'll reset the island and respawn enemies. Just repeat the process until you see a captain spawn. Always best to stick to the smallest islands so you clear it faster (ie see if a captain spawned and find the treasure dropped via the "Captain's Orders" note). If you really want to be paranoid, then don't dig up your loot until you're ready to cash out. That way if you get ganked by another crew, you can come back for your loot, and they won't steal it after sinking you.
While on a row boat with loot you will shine like crazy to anyone passing as they see the glint of the loot. I can not imagine the time it took to row to each place
Hey I have a question, just finished a FOF and juste had enough gold to buy my own ship so I left the game to go to “my ships” but it won’t load and nothing seems to make it work like restatrting my Xbox, leaving the game closing my Xbox but nothing is working
One of my greatest adventures was stacking 12 Fort of the Dammed for a pay of 6 million on community day. I haven't seen you do it yet, so maybe one future adventure might be sailing with a massive amount of loot including stronghold kegs and gathering a crew to fend any greedy pirates.
perhaps a video idea based off this methodd: sail to a bunch of close islands (preferably small ones) an get a lot of Skelletons orders voyages. do not complete these yet! after you have a lot on the same few islands, raise an emmasery and dig everything up. you should be able to get dozens of high-value cursed loot from a single island and reap the benefits while having only a fraction of the risk (as you are only a target once you are effectivley on your way to sell)
Bruh I’ve literally been doing this when I solo for months due to needing to hide the ship while I do sunken kingdom breath of the seas with the emissary bonus still at 15/30 but honestly I feel validated because cliff used the exact same spot to hide the ship
I definitely earned more that that though after I get the breath of the sea and loot from the shine/treasury and the emissary 5 flag I just Island hop outpost to outpost earning a pretty decent amount while picking up whatever emissary flag I’m running making decent gold while looking for another coral message in a bottle
@@AceBountyHunterRex not that long at all barely an inconvenience but certainly helps a lot when your doing anything with the sunken kingdom on your own just wish there was a button to auto row the boat on Xbox instead of hitting both triggers over and over again also works as a good method if your doing fishing commendations and want to be left alone
@9:18 "I'm not sure if somebody was messing with me or if this was a bug, but when I was getting ready to leave I noticed something was missing..." You got Rare'd. Again.
Seems like a good deal of fun haha. Though it'd be best to stick near fortresses to look on the map for reapers every now and then, as once they get lv5 they'd see an emissary boat hiding up there!

@@StruggleBusAqua i see but wouldn't reapers see your boat in the corner and come and investigate it?
Hi cliff your so close to 200K I’m so excited
Getting there!
Best sea of thieves youtuber
Damn so happy to se new video ❤️❤️
Almost 200k? good job Cliff!
Cliff; *digs up stronghold keg* "Yeah not every map can be a winner.."
Me, an avid kegger; "Today is a good day, today is a VEEEERY GOOD DAY."
I'm glad to see rowboat voyaging seeing some use. I've spent more hours than I'd like to admit doing stuff from a rowboat.
Before I even WATCH this video I already know Cliff is gonna be like "But that's lame!" And do something dangerous and stupid instead.
Okay I was wrong
@@breadcat2990 good guess tho
Currently 4 levels away from PL, super excited
ayy lets go
@9:18 "I'm not sure if somebody was messing with me or if this was a bug, but when I was getting ready to leave I noticed something was missing..." You got Rare'd. Again.
Thanks Rare.. Didn't want those supplies anyway..
Literally every Athena on the sea of thieves rn:
:
damn guess i missed that part of the stream, but it was a good one!
That random lvl 4 merchant alliance sloop : i am not in danger i am the danger
Seems like a good deal of fun haha. Though it'd be best to stick near fortresses to look on the map for reapers every now and then, as once they get lv5 they'd see an emissary boat hiding up there!
Yeah there are definitely ways to optimize this and make it slightly less inefficient
What hull do you use cliff, love your content keep it up what is that hull though
merchant alliance emissary ledger rewards
ah another episode of the Sea of tales, I'm going to enjoy this.
