When I was growing up down there as a little girl we sang a song to draw the periwinkles out. Now I'm an old lady and I still remember it and it makes me happy. Thanks for showing us the periwinkles!
What a great shelling trip/video. The only thing I don’t like about your videos…… the always end before I’m ready for them to end 😊. Love them all…..thank you for sharing your love of shells!!!
@25:02, I am gobsmacked by that Florida Fighting Conch! You have found some beautiful shells today, but that Conch! And, the True Tulips, oh my! Okay, every shell is gorgeous. Thank you, Sharmon, for another fab day at the beach (and, the Wentletrap, Yaaaaay!). Huggers 🐚 ⛱️ 😎
Dear Sharmon, What a lovely day to spend at the beach searching for shells. That sunrise was so beautiful. Seeing the beach lit up in that orange glow. That's priceless! And the shells! Girl, what a great haul of beauties!❤ A wentletrap on Kice? I think it's the first one you ever found there. And that gorgeous pink banded tulip, and of course that huge apple murex. Kice was soo good for you! And you did very well not taking all the FFC's with you. It must have been very difficult to leave so many behind. But the one you took home are stunning! I really like that zigzag one. Almost a juvenile in adult size. All in all so many stunning shells! And of course the dolphins! 😍 Thank you so, so much from the bottom of my heart for taking us with you on your adventures. ❤️ I hope you have a wonderful week, filled with warmth, sunshine and amazing shells! Sending you a big hug and lots of love, xoxo ❤, Ilona
I always look forward to your posts! Kice was, once again quite kind to me. It's not always like that! I was hosting a shell tour today and it was rather thin out there. Still PLENTY to take home but not quite the bounty is normally is. I can't wait for the winter shells! The cold fronts are not fun as I don't like the cold, but I sure like the shells so I'll take what I get! Hugs and sunshine to you Ilona! ❤️
what an amazing shelling trip, you live in paradise part of America 🙂 Be careful when you file those shells, dust from shells are very dangerous, be cautious be safe. Thanks for letting us virtually be there 🙂❤
I absolutely love going on these adventures with you! The seascapes, the shells the sounds ,it all soothes my soul!! Thank you for showing us, teaching us, and giving us the tips and tricks! Much appreciated !! 🙏 😊
What an awesome adventure you went on. Such a great variety of shells. Here in land bound West TX I am having shell mania tonight. Truly appreciate your videos. They are soul soothing and fill my heart with overflowing joy. Thank You for filling my shell obsession..😊❤❤😊
Wow!! Sooo many spectacular shells!! The baby's ears are so rare, but I've always loved them. Spiny jewel boxes, so amazing! Wentel traps, etc, etc. Love SWF shelling! 🌊 🐚🌴
OH WOW!! That was so much FUN!! I'm glad I brought my sweater, it got a little cool on the boat trip! Thanks for taking me along on our Sunday trip!! Lots of gorgeous shells. I need a wall of shadow boxes to put them all in. I'll see you next Sunday, Shar!! 😁 ❤
Good evening 👋❤️🇨🇦…may I say the video from nov 1 was enjoyable having no voice over..it was the first time I experienced such a video 😊..it was so calming ❤
Your videos are so calming to watch, and I have learned so much from you. Such an amazing collection of shells you found on Kice Island. The size of that moon snail is amazing! My husband and I will be in Florida this coming February hoping to do some shelling while we are there.
So many of the shells that you may leave on the beach, I’d love to have! It’s time for us to see your collection again! I’m definitely planning to take a shell tour with Ali next year! Thanks for the thrills 🥰
Oh, dear Beach Angel, this is really going to be a great day! I can barely contain my curiosity, wanting to see what you've found! Ooh, that apple murex is simply delicious! It has so many bumps and nooks to catch the sun's rays! Wow! Now, 'fess up, Sharmon, did you sprinkle miracle grow plant food up and down the beach before you started the video? Those large shells are really unusual and so plentiful! Not to mention beautiful! You're gonna have to get a larger display case for all these specimen shells! Okay, I may be a mermaid, but even we dwellers of the deep get a little jealous now and then and this is definitely my day to have my brown eyes turn a definite shade of emerald! That fighting conch would charm the heart of Neptune himself and that big colorful moon snail is a real prize winner! You know me well enough, dear girl, to see past my slight moments of weakness, but if there ever was a day for jealousy, this would be it! You have been very greatly blessed by the Lord of the Sea on this lovely autumn day and I am so glad for you! I think I wouldn't be surprised if you found the Golden Fleece today! You may think I'm fooling, but as I typed those words, you pulled that golden calico scallop from the waves! WAY Cool! I'm so proud and grateful for all the junk you've cleared off the area beaches, as well as the broken glass which is so dangerous to wildlife and tourists' tender bare feet! I remember having to carry my kid sister about a mile when she stepped on the sharp-edged lid of a tuna can on the beach. Poor kid needed stitches, I believe. Thank you for lugging that garbage to its rightful place, in the garbage can! Now, my loves, I can finally surrender to sleep and dream of a beach littered with all the beautiful treasures of the sea! Thanks to this joy-filled time spent watching our dear Sharmon finding such jewels of the sea, I can rest very peacefully tonight. Here's hoping that each of you will find your own peace in dreams of lovely seashells and with the murmur of the waves echoing through your hours of rest. Much love to all my fellow shell lovers and, of course, my best love to you, my own Beach Angel Friend. May you have a wonderful week and meet me again on the next video where we'll share in another shelling adventure. 🧜🐚 ❤ Rebecca, The Lost Mermaid
That was an endearing comment Shell Sister😊 Almost as enjoyable as todays' outing with Sharmon! Enjoy your rest, will watch for another reply from you next Sunday. ❤
Sharmon you are the bomb!! Love me some Kice island!! All those True's , girl I am drooling. One of my favorite shells to look for on Kice is Gaudy Nauticas and you always find some of the most colorful ones. I squealed at that big one you found. OK it's been 2 mths since my Kice trip and you gave me the fever again. Unfortunately I have to wait till next year. Until then, I will just "drool" over what you find. Have a great week!
As usual that was an amazing trip that you allowed us to share with you. Cannot wait to go find some great shells. Winter needs to come on. I have more luck in the winter. And you are correct about learning what shells are. After i got the book you recommended and sat and learned, I can now name a lot of them. Not all but wow a few. Thanks for the beach walk.
Love, love, love watching you every week Sharma! I find myself looking at all of the treasures in the background while you do your fantastic explanations and identifications. At 6:49 or so, would you say the dark gray possible old lions paw looking shell may be a fossil??
That was fun! So many different shells and some real beauties! I can't wait to see that live apple murex too! Thanks again for a wonderful stroll down another beautiful beach!
The "trip strip" - good name for parts of HISP!😊 Wow, I guess there's never a bad shelling day at Kice!! You scored huge again! At least you're getting better about not picking up all the FFC's!😂 It's all good Sharmon. They're beautiful. Thanks again! xxoo
Hi Sharma. I agree with other comments. You did say you would clean some of them at the end of the video, That part was not there at the end. I still love your videos. Your awsome in so many ways. 👍👍👍🥰🇨🇦
It’s so funny, one weekend I found a bunch of golden olives over here at Canova Beach on the East Coast (dog beach because our pup likes shelling too) but I can’t find a single fighting conch. Lol but there’s always something new on the beach. You can go to the exact same one over and over again and you find something different every time. I love beach combing. But I enjoy your videos so much and all you teach us! I like identifying the shells we find now too! Thank you so much for your amazing content!❤️🐚🌊☀️
Hey Sharmon....what a lovely shelling journey with so many treasures. I went nuts over that fighting conch that had the colors of fudge ripple ice cream. If I get to come to Florida, I'm going to have to have a shell bag for just fighting conchs and another for everything else! I also really enjoyed that bright orange - yellow calico scallop. (Oh yes, I'll also need a bag dedicated to bivalves)! The true tulips were very beautiful too. I must confess I struggle with lust when you find those gaudy nauticas. I can't even find those in shell shops on the coast out here in the west. Well, my friend, have a wonderful week and thanks for sharing.
I would bring an extra bag and pick up Fighting Conchs when you're about ready to leave the beach. I was telling another couple about how I carried my bag of FFCs off Tigertail once like I was carrying a sleeping 4 year old. The bag was easily as heavy as a toddler! 🤣
Great “going shelling” with you again! Would love to see more of the shiny jingles… 😊 It might be fun to find one of each color (pearl, orange, rose, black, creamy yellow…)?
Do you get near the Snake River? (I know it’s primarily in the western part of the state.) Or go to any of the lakes? I’ve heard shelling can be good near fresh water, too. Can even find beach glass.
Hi Sharmon, I'd like to see a pear welk & a paper fig next to each other to be able to tell them a part from each other. Still learning my shells, cause when you showed the pear welk, I said it was a paper fig b4 you said it's a pear welk. ;) Ty so much dear Sharmon. :)
Someone else wanted to see the difference in those 2 shells so I went and made a short about it! th-cam.com/users/shorts9Dey5LzbASY?si=2jgAMKu6340Cqc-z
Ohhhh Sharmon! Beach friend. Ahhh. Another wonderful trip to the beach. Thank you. I have a question. Are you adding more to your Etsy shop? Ok. 1 more. Do you do special requests?
Yes! I have a new desk and in theory I should be able to add more shells to the store quicker. I used to do special requests but they were taking me so much time. If it's an easy one I bet I could accommodate :-) Just shoot me an email swfbeachlife@gmial.com
10:37 What a wonderful day to go find more great seashells, oh Florida Fighting conch shell 🐚 you found it great job 👏 don’t you know that Florida Fighting conch is my favorite? Well it’s my true/ only favorite shell, anyway do you have any favorite seashell yet so far? 😊 Thank you for showing us some more new seashell yesterday and for taking us on a seashell adventure it was so fun 🤩.
I've seen them "stuck" to other shells, but I don't think you'd be able to actually see the critter drilling into the shell. Bummer as that would be cool to see!
@@SWFBeachLife I guess Sharmon that would be how they do it, if you find a drill stuck to another shell, could you possibly show us, I find that fascinating.
Wonderful finds! I just got home from a trip to the beach in South Carolina. I did pretty good identifying the shells that I found though they were scarce and so many broken ones. It prompted a question or two. 1. Can you tell us the difference between kitten paws, lion paws and even oyster shells that look like paws. Are lion paws really oysters? 2. I also found jingles of different colors. Gray, light almost white and a pretty peachy orange. Some were more domed looking not as flat. I was wondering if those were really jingles. I found 3 baby ears amazingly. I was amazed they were not all broken as most shells were pretty beat up. One had a chip out of one side. I also saw a little boy so tickled to show me the shell he found. He found the only lettered olive I saw on the beach the whole week. There were many broken pieces of them but he was blessed to find a whole one of good size. It was fun to encourage him in his hunt and tell him what the shell was! Thanks for taking us along on your beach trips. The colder the weather the more glorious your beach trips become!
Lion Paws are a type of scallop, so they are not oysters, but I know exactly what you are talking about with oysters, and the kitten/lion paws. I will make a short about it in the future. I too find domed jingles and don't know what the heck. It's the same jingle material, just a little tiny bowl shape. I assume it's just a different shaped jingle but I do not know for certain. And that a is so wild to me that other places have a multitude of really desirable shells. I'd like to shell the Carolinas for baby ears and knobbed whelks!
What a great day for shelling. I saw a few things you didn’t pick up that I was curious about. They looked purple and thin, long, and very iridescent. Just curious 🧐 Thank You for another wonderful day at The Beach !!
That auger had something in it,I'm assuming u saw it but just pointing out! It's usually pretty hard for me to tell with those so much that this rookie stopped picking them up lol
I kept hollering when you were in an ocean of orange FFC’s you kept on walking “ What’s wrong with you”But like you said you didn’t need more. I still bet it’s hard not to pick them up
Ooh, was the crown conch at 18:53 in good shape? I know you don’t have time to show every shell you take. But I have to tell you, every time I watch I vacillate between being so happy for what you are finding and wishing myself down there. Haha, one day.
There's nothing like finding these treasures for yourself! I went to the beach on Saturday telling myself I wasn't going to collect any shells but that lasted about 10 minutes before I was busy picking up shells. It's just so fun!
I would love to know your opinion on which island you think is the best to find driftwood that we can put in our two year old landscaping? We haven't gone shelling yet that we take a boat, but that's on our list for next year. Love your shows!
Oh shoot - I don't really hunt out driftwood because I don't see it that much. I did see someone with some pieces coming off a shell tour to Dickman's Island and Kice Island. Sorry I can't be of more help!
My favorite part of Sunday? Hearing, "Let's go to the beach!" 🏖️ ❤

I look forward to that short! It would be fun to bump into you on a SC beach. Happy shelling! Now I have to look up knobbed whelks. : ) @@SWFBeachLife
I am so wanting to come to Kice! The zig-zaggy fighting conch was so😍. Lov periwinkles-they inhabit the intertidal zone.
You should come up to ft Macon Atlantic beach nc for the wentle traps..
It would be great to see the beginning shells and then after they start getting larger, so us beginnersknow what to look for.
I'm hoping in the future I can do different types of videos when I have the time. For now I just work with what the beach provides me!
What a great day for shelling. I saw a few things you didn’t pick up that I was curious about. They looked purple and thin, long, and very iridescent. Just curious 🧐
Thank You for another wonderful day at
The Beach !!
That was nacre. Its mother of pearl made by Pen shells. I show it from time to time. I'll try to remember to show it in a future video.
That auger had something in it,I'm assuming u saw it but just pointing out! It's usually pretty hard for me to tell with those so much that this rookie stopped picking them up lol
I kept hollering when you were in an ocean of orange FFC’s you kept on walking
“ What’s wrong with you”But like you said you didn’t need more. I still bet it’s hard not to pick them up
Is there any big piles of vegetable if I am not there will be more big piles and January?
Ooh, was the crown conch at 18:53 in good shape? I know you don’t have time to show every shell you take. But I have to tell you, every time I watch I vacillate between being so happy for what you are finding and wishing myself down there. Haha, one day.
There's nothing like finding these treasures for yourself! I went to the beach on Saturday telling myself I wasn't going to collect any shells but that lasted about 10 minutes before I was busy picking up shells. It's just so fun!
@@SWFBeachLife Completely agree! Addicting and fun.
Paper figs remind me of the pattern of linen material.
Yes, they do have that burlap kind of texture going on.
Look at all those alphabet cones !!! I’m hoping to land one when I get there 😂
I hope you do!
I would love a mirror of just gaudy nauticas.
🤔 I have this little mirror that I am going to cover with shells. Maybe all colorful moon snails would work.
