If people tell you you pick up too many shells they need to find another TH-cam channel. I think you are wonderful!! It is just what you do and we love to watch, living vicariously through you.
Sharman I do hope you see this message….Thank you so much for the package I received today! These shells are so exciting and a great addition to my growing collection. I purchased it from your online shop.
I've read other comments that people have said ur taking too many shells, just ignore them. As long as they r only shells ur taking and nothing lives in them I really don't see the issue. I love ur enthusiasm in ur finds and ur unique talent to see the beauty in them even with their faults, shells r a gift from God and if u can turn them into something that makes u and others smile keep going ❤
We were on this trip (my mom, daughter and me), it was such a great trip. You were in no way exaggerating the number of shells. I would definitely recommend this shell tour.
Every time you thank the Patreon patrons, I say thank YOU for taking us to the beach!!! I am 7 + hours away in any direction from a beach. I get to go more than the average person who lives where I live, but not nearly enough. I get so much out of these videos. Thank you for sharing your beach walks with us. I absolutely loved Kice the one time I got to go. Hopefully I can get back there soon, but until then, I’m just happy to go there on TH-cam. 🥰
Well you are so very welcome. I love being out there and sharing these beaches for those that can't get out there. I hope you are able to get back to Kice or anywhere in SWFL soon!
I brought my Mom and son with me to Fl. and we actually stayed on Marco island…making 3 trips to the Ten thousand islands ! All due to following you and loving your videos. You give such good information ! Honey we took buckets of shells ! and loved every second of it. I found that with a dremel tool I have smoothed some jagged edges of beautiful shells. My son found a once in a lifetime true tulip ! Happy shelling and Thank you so much for sharing ! I have already booked another week on Marco for January 2024 !!!
Can you imagine what the beaches would look like if no one took any shells? There’d be mounds and mounds and mounds of shells. Great beach walk. The albino lace murex and the baby alphabet cones, and the pitted murex were my favorites this week. Honorable mention goes to the Rose murex today. These videos are always a great way to end my Sunday evenings. I hope we’re with you when someday you find that elusive Junonia .
What a fabulous ending to a phenomenal adventure.. the rose murex the albino lace and the live cone! Wow.. and all the jewel boxes..and the few nutmegs..I. heaven!!
You're so fortunate to live close enough to go shell finding so frequently. You must have a large room just for your shells. You pick up some really pretty shells. Thankx for the names, for I had no clue that there were so many different kinds of shelled animals. Because of your videos, I'm learning a few names. Can't wait until the next video adventure.
I guess I’m like everyone else, shocked that you had comments complaining you took too many shells. They must not have their glasses on because the beach is packed with shells!! You could take a big bucket every week and never ever empty the beach. Anyhoo, wow what a day!! That was so cool on so many levels!! It’s so amazing when you see the Florida Fighting Conchs in all sorts of shapes and colours(Browns, yellow, ivory and purple.). They all have the same shape and spikes but some are fat, some thinner, short and long. Then when you found the albino murex, THAT was sooooo cool!! A live cone was interesting. What I find interesting is that how the shell has such a sliver opening for the resident to come out of. Great Beach walk and video!! Next week Fort Myers, Yay!!! Have a great week and we’ll see you Sunday. 🥰🐬
Awwwww so awesome!!! That albino lace murex 😍😍😍 can’t believe that in four days I will finally be in Florida and experiencing shelling on Marco, Kice, and Keewaydin! Can’t wait to put all your tips into action and find some gorgeous shells to bring home!! Thank you for this perfect day at the beach!!

Yay, the 2nd part of Kice! I have never seen so many beautiful shells. And, that Albino Lace Murex! Thanks. Sharmon for an incredible shelling adventure 🐚 😎
Taking too many shells?... They must not know much about Florida. 😂 Another great haul Sharmon! I just love your videos so much! So relaxing and fun and so happy to see your channel grow!! You're one of the best shellers!!!
My son and I were looking through some old boxes of shells, and thanks to you I was able to identify most of them. Even though we didn't know at the time what we had. We used to call olives "cigars", and jingles were "potato chips" lol. 🥰
I really appreciate that you identify all the shells! I never get tired of that, I'm really starting to learn what they are. I look forward to Sunday evenings and your videos. The cones, scallops, tulips are some of my favorites, ok, ok, I love them all!❤ BUT my favorite are the fighting conchs, I know that there are tons of them in the places that you get to go but the variety of colors and sizes in one species is incredible!
* Hurricane & Red Tide.. Poor Creatures of Florida. Can't wait for next Video.. ~ Thank you again for theGift of your knowledge & showing us the Shells.. I like Jingles & bubbles. Gaudy Nauticas (sp) were bountiful. Yay!!
The pitted merax, the 1st one i have ever seen. The spiny jewel box, moon snails , and all the other shells are so beautiful. The top shells are to cute, I enjoy the lighting whelkes, pear whelkes and the banned tulips. Just really enjoy all the shells. They are so beautiful. I really enjoy the beach sounds. The water , the waves, the animals you hear. I am able to relax and calm down from my day. Thank you so very much.
Another beautiful Sunday video, thank you ☺️ had to watch it today though 🤭 I always feel like the Sanderson sisters in Hocus pocus lol when they looking for children.. that's how I get when I'm looking for seashells and shark teeth 😂
I realized today that I want to be alone when I shell! I went to the beach this morning and got to chat with a few people but I don't like the "competition" aspect of it so I try to stay away from other people 😂
You are so fortunate in your search for shells.. I collected shells for years on NC beaches.. For probably 20 years now, I have found very few to roll up on our shores..
I have a place in corolla and just a few varieties to find here. I do like to pick up the oyster shells types in various coloring. Just picked up a large blow fish which I have never seen here before. Of course it was drying out already. I do like the dark blue scallop shells too. I have been to Sanibel and Captiva a few times and loved the shelling. I wonder when there will be fewer shells washing up in the gulf areas. When I watch her videos I feel like I am there with her. I am just amazed at what she can find in one day. I also purchased shells for my pleasure and decor since I have a VA home and a NC beach cottage.
Your beach hunts are so soothing.....the shells are so interesting, thank you for educating us along the way.......I could imaging ending up with too many shells after keeping the best of.......but they are all beautiful parts for Angel Ornaments. Or a shell wreath.
Absolutely awesome video, shell friend! I loved, loved, loved that live Alphabet Cone - it's so wonderful to see live creatures in their natural habitats! Shell well! 🐚
I was so happy to finally see a live cone! I'm slowly getting to see all the critters I'd like to meet. Thank you for watching! I'm hoping our paths will cross down here in FL one of these days!
Love love love this trip to my favorite place , Kice. I could just stay there for days! I'm counting down to my Sept trip. That live Alphie was precious and the albino lace murex was gorgeous. Like I have said so many times before, Kice never disappoints. Thanks so much for taking us along. You keep me sane between vacation times or I would go crazy. Have a great week, Hugs!
Fabulous trip again today! I'm so glad to see not all the beaches in SWF are getting that sargassum seaweed. Goodness knows, your area doesn't need any more issue to deal with for a while!
I am so excited to finish this adventure. That pink scallop you showed is gorgeous. I love lace murex. They are my favorite shell. Wow that pitted murex and rose murex are just beautiful. OH my goodness that albino lace murex is breath taking. Thank you for sharing your adventures. As I am land locked and can't physically do all that walking I so appreciate you. Stay safe and keep shelling.
That is only the second pitted murex I have ever seen and unfortunately neither in person, love the albino lace Murex and the Rose of course. The live alphabet cone was a real treat too. Since I am allergic to bees I have to be especially carsful around cone shells. Thanks Sharmon, have an awesome week.
You would definitely not want to encounter a live cone! I got stung by an urchin once (in Jamaica) and that was more pain than I'd like to ever experience again!
Awesome part two of Kice Island. Spectacular shells to find. Thanks for the info on the live Alphabet cone. I knew it could sting you but didn't know if it was the deadly one. Good to know that the ones in Florida isn't. Great shell collection!
Wow. A pitted murex. I would have guessed it to be a weathered lace. Now I'm wondering if I've seen one and didn't know it 😮. Great find! I believe that's the prettiest rose murex you've found!👍 Beautiful albino LM! You're right about the "different white" for albinos. Sharmon, people that think we take too many shells just don't know the beaches here. It's impossible!!! You're right about the great scallops. Gorgeous! As usual, Kice was well worth the trip. Thanks, Sharmon!💕
Marvelous day on Kice Island...gobsmacked at the amount of seashells on the beach right now...would need to drag along a large trash bin for all the Florida Fighting Conchs, hard to leave those behind !!! LOL, just kidding, but they are so lovely. Wonderful diversity. Thank you so much for our beach-time today !!!
Fantastic! just absolutely fantastic. Thank you. So many beautiful shells. Makes me want to hop a plane from my home in Scotland and get over to Florida right now! One day soon I hope. Can't wait for your next video.😊
Your name looked familiar and I double checked Etsy - I just packed up your shell tray! Thank you so very much for watching my videos. Now you have some of these treasures for yourself!
The reason that cone shell with inhabitants white parts look a slightly darker white colour is because the foot is darker grey usually, this gives a different tone thru the shell. I bred aquarium Mystery Snail and Rabbit Snails, with mystery snails there’s a colour list. The shell can be a yellowish gold colour but depending on the colour of the foot (which can either be dark or light) it then f]defines the outer colour which is what it’s colour coded by. A gold shell with a light foot is a Gold mystery snail, a gold shell with a dark foot is a Jade mystery snail (as the tone of the dark foot thru the shell makes it appear greenish. A purplish shell with a light foot is a Magenta, or Candy and a purplish shell with a dark foot is called a straight purple. There’s several more colourations also. They lay their eggs about an inch or two up out of the water on either aquarium glass, the lid or anything above water level. The clutches must stay dry for babies to develop n live. If the eggs are laid in a awkward place you can gently remove them and place them on damp paper towel in a plastic takeaway food container and float it on the water, this way the humidity will keep moisture around. The clutch of eggs looks like a bunch of pastel peach colours caviar, lol….after 2 to 3 weeks they will hatch and you can expect anywhere from 150 to 300 minuscule baby snails(snaibies as aquarist snail keepers call them ) they will Shloop or fall back into the water and grown live. I ended up with so many clutches of eggs that I gave them away to other fish keepers to experience hatchlings. The most ever snaibies out of one clutch was 309…😳🤪…yes I sat n counted everyone as I gently placed them back in the water after hatching. Not all will survive, but maybe 90% do. It was fun breeding them aswell as rare Rabbit snails (google them everyone they are awesome) Rabbits only have like 1 or 2 babies every 6 weeks or 2 month and they actually lay a live baby that starts as I small white thing then emerges out over the next couple of hours or so (I think it’s hours?) I did get to see a teeny white dot being laid by a rabbit snail but wasn’t really sure what it was. The next day I fin this wee lil pointy shell baby snail about 2 mm Long I that…it’s just magical . Wonders of nature always make me smile. 💙🙏🏻🐌🐡 I no longer have mystery snails and I sold my colony of Rabbit snails apart from one juvenile that was hiding n got left behind. Il either have to find it a buddy or pass it on. Sorry for waffling, I got excited when you were talking snail talk…lol Lisa Here a link to a snail colour chart .. www.fwgna.org/dillonr/MSCGP/mscgp.pdf
FASCINATING! I've actually been thinking about looking into getting an African land snail. Or an apple snail. I'll have to see what they eat and if they are easy to care for. Breeding snails sounds so fascinating! We used to breed love birds ❤️
Hello my lady 👋🎉... I have not been in the greatest of health and been sleeping 💤 lots...we still have not moved in a new house yet...I have seen some of your posts and know that things seem much better there...I am glad you are able to get back to your old shelling ground...I can't wait to get moved and unpacked so I can send you some pictures of the shells my GG left me... ✌️❤️😇🙏😎🌞🕺🎶🧩🧑🦽🥳🎉
You should try Morgan Key. Watching Laura and she is finding so many of your favorites. Bring a big bag! She went around the mangroves into the Gulf side. 😊
@@SWFBeachLife I just love watching your show! I live in Minnesota and right now we just can’t get away from the snow. Your shows brighten my days! Thank you
Hi Sharmon! Looks like an amazing time on Kice Island. Such incredible finds. I loved it all. How cool you found a living cone. And it was so neat to see the Osprey. We have quite a lot of those along the the Columbia River here in the Pacific Northwest. We do see the occasional bald eagle too. When I was a park ranger in the Columbia Gorge, I could count on seeing this big Osprey nest built on a pier post along the river but near the freeway every time I went to work. Glad you have them in Florida too.
I love hearing their piercing calls. Before there was construction on the Sanibel causeway there was a good chance you could spy one on the railing of the road looking for a meal. ❤️
Sharmon, such beautiful shells and amazing creatures! I've been studying the Florida's Living Beaches book. I try to guess the shell before you say it. ☺️💖🐚
So much fun!! You are blessed!! You live in heaven :) Cannot believe someone told you that you pick up too many shells! (mad face) girl pick up as many as you want :) I love it. Have a great week! See you Sunday. XOXO
Thank you sooo much for this video! I'm in Indiana and it's indy 39° !!! Your video helped me to feel warmer and as always, I learned so much. Have a great week. ( ; ♡
Omg I can’t believe people would comment about how many shells you take! There are plenty!! I love watching your videos. Is there a ride over to live that will leave you longer then two hours? That wouldn’t be enough for me lol, excited to go someday!! Would definitely be like a kid in a candy store .. giddy just watching you
Most of the tours are around 4-5 hours long but you can take a shuttle over to Keewaydin and stay just about all day if you like! www.hemingwaywatershuttle.com

LOL, just kidding, but they are so lovely. Wonderful diversity. Thank you so much for our beach-time today !!!
It's insane how many seashells we have down here. I love it!!
That albino lace murex is breathtaking!! Very interesting to see the live alphabet cone also; thank you!
Great shells! Kice island always has the prettiest shells. It was a pleasure virtual beachcombing with you tonight. ❤
Fantastic! just absolutely fantastic.
Thank you. So many beautiful shells.
Makes me want to hop a plane from my home in Scotland and get over to Florida right now! One day soon I hope.
Can't wait for your next video.😊
I hope you can too! Your shores are beautiful (I really like the Apple TV screen saver of Scotland) but the shells we have 🐚🐚🐚
Thanks!
Thank you so much Stacey!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Love the video this week, Kice is always nice! The Rose Murex is probably my favorite, but as usual everything is gorgeous.
Great shelling adventure, I look forward to your videos so much, thank you for letting me tag a long, have a wonderful week
Amazing shelling and thank you for sharing your tour and your knowledge with us.

Delightful to watch and relaxing
Thank you!
My bucket list is Kice! I’m a teacher so maybe I can do it this summer! I Live just a hop skip and jump from Central Florida! Ahhhhhh….
Love, love, love all those spectacular gorgeous shells, as always!❤ You’re awesome Sharmon!
I no longer have mystery snails and I sold my colony of Rabbit snails apart from one juvenile that was hiding n got left behind. Il either have to find it a buddy or pass it on.
Sorry for waffling, I got excited when you were talking snail talk…lol

FASCINATING! I've actually been thinking about looking into getting an African land snail. Or an apple snail. I'll have to see what they eat and if they are easy to care for. Breeding snails sounds so fascinating! We used to breed love birds ❤️
Excellent shelling, I’m obsessed with the albino lace Murex! ❤
Isn't it so pretty!! 🥰
I love the spiral on the inner nutmegs and the tire tracks on the spiney jewel boxes between the spikes
Nice trip again, found some fun stuff!
Hope you feel much better very soon!
@@ittybittykittymama7582 thanks
Feel better soon beach friend!
so excited for this video, I swear I sleep better after watching you on Sunday night!
I totally agree!! 🥰
Seriously? Some people complain you take too many!? Like you just showed, they sure don't understand Florida's beaches! Wow! LOL!
You should try Morgan Key. Watching Laura and she is finding so many of your favorites. Bring a big bag! She went around the mangroves into the Gulf side. 😊
Noted! Thank you!
@@SWFBeachLife I just love watching your show! I live in Minnesota and right now we just can’t get away from the snow. Your shows brighten my days! Thank you
9 more days until my first shelling adventure , and am just so very excited!!!! I am hoping to book a trip to Kice 🤩
Good shelling luck to you!!
That book has taught me almost everything I know!
So much fun!! You are blessed!! You live in heaven :) Cannot believe someone told you that you pick up too many shells! (mad face) girl pick up as many as you want :) I love it. Have a great week! See you Sunday. XOXO
The people who tell me to put the dead sand dollars back because they are alive are really the ones that drive me nuts!
@@SWFBeachLife people! lol
Love this. Thank you again.
Thank you sooo much for this video! I'm in Indiana and it's indy 39° !!! Your video helped me to feel warmer and as always, I learned so much. Have a great week. ( ; ♡
I hope you have great week too!
That fighting conch at 18:30 was neat. It's top was all white. I thought for sure you were gonna pick it up but you held strong! 😊
It's a good thing it's really not feasible for me to bring a wheel barrow to Kice...🤣
What a great trip! Enjoyed all your finds on Kice.
