Es una excelente selección de discos maravillosos que han sido las melodías que han recreado musicalmente las historias de películas fabulosas. Felicidades por compartir tu bella colección estimado Nick Anderson.
Awesome records! I thought I might mention that although the audio recording of a written text from a book is in the public domain, that doesn’t necessarily mean the text from the book itself is in the public domain, so it is possible that the audio/video transmission of the copyrighted text may be a violation of copyright law. I may be wrong, and you would probably be better off talking to an expert in copyright law, but I just figured I would let you know, to keep you out of trouble.
I used to listen to quite a lot of those old time radio shows. That were great. This reminds me to listen to more, because there’s so many of them available in the public domain that I didn’t get around to. Oddly,I haven’t listen to enough pulp radio like Tarzan and The Shadow. I do remember that Fawlty Towers was fairly popular here in the UK. Remember hearing it a lot on the radio as a kid.
Ah man! You need to watch Fawlty Towers. It's very visual. And it's fast. John Cleese instructed the cast never to stop for the laughs, just barrel through. And it makes it so much better.
@ Used to watch it all the time. It’s ingrained into the British sense of humour. I don’t think you can actually call yourself British if you haven’t watched it. And we can all understand being so frustrated with machinery (in Basil’s case his car) you end up taking a tree branch to it. It’s British and yet, universal 😄
Very cool! I dont "collect" records but i have some 200+ non-music records that i used for scatching bizarre vocal samples over jazz beats. Kid Koala was my main inspiration. The album "Some Of My Best Friends Are DJs" was what i was going for.
I have radio shows as well mainly on CD and audio cassette . My favorites are Jack Benny and Sherlock Holmes , bill sterns sports news reel , and green hornet . My brothers favorites : Mary foster the editors daughter, and the super man radio show and Lum and abner . Also I like the bbc radio shows the goon show and navy lark and dads army .
Sorry for spamming but you might want to be on the lookout for a certain episode of the Jack Benny episode called the Fiddler that’s a parody episode of the Whistler. Also you can get reprint of the mysterious travelers comic. I just thought you’d like to know .
Spamming is something that is worthless so your comments would never be spam! I'll have to check out the Jack Benny and try and find some Mysterious Traveler comics.
These old time radio broadcast records are gold -thank you for sharing them.👍

Hearing those would definitely be cool.
Any preference?
Definitely the Tarzan or The First Man in the Moon.

Do you have anything online that we can check out??
@TheBookGraveyard Naw, that was all just for fun. Maybe I'll put something together sometime.
I know nothing about radio dramas. So this was really cool!
I was obsessed with them for a little while about five years ago. It's like taking a trip to another time.
@TheBookGraveyard yeah color me intrigued

The only ones I've heard of those is the Sherlock Holmes. There is an awesome BBC Maigret radio drama. It's my favorite.

I know I'm playing to type here...but I desperately want to hear grandpa Tolkien singing his hobbit songs.
haha do you have a record player? I'll send it to you if you want it. My gift to the professor.
