wow that's one I saw coming as soon as he turned it on. I studied safe radiation levels for eyes for visible and near visible light for my thesis ( I had infrared light pointed at someone's eyes, it is invisible but still radiation). That mask is too much. They could put sunglasses instead of regular glasses and the problem would be solved.

you forgot the words "risk" and "of" - but no matter. Every way you twist and turn it, light masks are a useless scam product like any other miracle cure. This is coming from someone that tried these as a teen (with "pizza face" levels of acne).

You see green as the light from the mask is causing the cones in your eye that sense that light to keep firing signals and you become "desensitized" to those colors for a short time after you take it off, thus when you look around every thing is more green as you are not seeing the blue/red side of things very well.
The sight of your glowing pink eyes staring out of the screen was horrific!
Basil is sitting there like yup, he is wearing a glowing pink mask....it is best to not encourage his madness by giving him a reaction. Just act like he isnt there

As a licensed esthetician, I wouldn't recommend this. This mask is literally just lights in a welding mask. This wont have the same affect as a medi spa or dermatologists clinic because you have to have a specific license and classes to use actual light therapy devices and apply them to patients.

It sounds fake snake oil salesman speech but trust me. I can send you articles if you want, real scientific articles. My friends' thesis was about it. I believe it took a long time since research started on light therapy for some product like this to emerge, but i think it is because it is a tough sell.
You must have just blocked out the horror that was the Rejuvenique, because I'm surprised you didn't draw any comparisons at all in the vid.
This is actually less creepy than the Rejuvenique mask. It's further up the left side of the Uncanny Valley, almost outside of it.
I think the device makes your face look really smooth and glowing, until you take it off again.

I bought one of these back in February. Just read in the comments they’re being recalled. Good job I only used it twice in the end. The lights in it are ridiculously bright
This feels like they started with a UV/IR setup and then shifted wavelengths to make it "safe".
And from what I read in the comments, it's still not safe. The green vision is also not a good sign. What were they thinking?

at keast while your using it, it really brings out your eyes. on a very creepy level, but the thing looks even more creepy in the dark with your eyes standing out like that. Great vid and nice to see Basil~

The "Everything looks green", reminds me of the time I used the old Red and Bluegreen 3D glasses as sunglasses. One eye could only see red and the other saw everything tinged bluish green, for the next two hours.
Your vision going green makes perfect sense. Your red and blue cones are being bombarded when the mask is on. Once you remove it, the relative levels of red and blue in the real world are so much lower than the mask, you are essentially "blind" to those wavelengths until your eyes readjust. That leaves only green light visible to you for a while, since your green cones were not being bombarded by the mask.
Also, I've no idea what clinical trials they're citing, but simply shining red and blue light on your skin would do absolutely nothing to treat or prevent acne. If it could, simply going out into sunlight every day would treat and prevent acne, as there is exponentially more energy from sunlight.
The only way "light therapy" would work to treat acne is if you were using a laser to ablate dead skin cells and unclog pores. This mask is utter nonsense.

I've looked into it while watching the video and multiple articles from reputable sources have dermatologists saying that LED powered light therapy works, just don't know if it works with that cheap toy looking thing by neutrogena
Also Mike, those are definitely LEDs, LED means Light Emitting Diode, which those are, don't know what you expect LEDs to look like...

it’s weird that the light is pink. Blue light is proven to have anti bacterial effects, and red has shown some healing/colleges improvements. But i don’t know if it works when you mix them.

Huh, blue lamps (not UV, just with blue lightbulbs) were used in USSR (maybe are still used somewhere) for medical purposes, including treating skin conditions. They are blue because blue light is less hurtful for the eyes through eyelids when lamp is used as a source of light and warmth.

Blue light triggers melanin and vitamin D production or something along those lines (but it also makes you basically sleepless, since your body constantly thinks it's day). Or something like that.
Aren't there glasses for tanning beds? Anywho, any bright light regardless with or with out UV is going to be damaging.

I think you should put it on the back of your head and turn the lights on.
I couldn't see ANY acne on your face while you were wearing it, so maybe just wear it outdoors if you're a bit self conscious about your acne.
I think the sweating from the heat probably did more for your skin than the purple light show did.
Apparently it not only burns away pimples but also the receptors in your eyes. Two for the price of one!
