I have a question about your breaking in of the 450SS, I got mine a week or so ago and around 300+ miles I’m hearing like a weird scratchy metal sound coming from around my left leg area. It is most noticeable when I open the throttle.

I’m picking up my first bike tomorrow. CFmoto 450ss. I can’t wait. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve. It’s all I can think about. Never rode a manual before. This video helped. I know how a manual works. Just haven’t done it.
Msf course is the best way to learn. You will learn shit you never even thought to think of or would even know. Great class for knowledge above others.
I just watched the entire series. I'll be rewatching the entire series one more time before taking a course on MSF. I plan on getting my license before March ends so I can start getting in some practice and be able to ride with my siblings.
Between you and adobo I got on my first bike today (gsxr 600) and I been practicing riding today and I was able to get it into 2nd gear and back and turn no problem. You guys are blessing people. Taking my msf course in a month.

I bought a yamaha tzr (moped) just to learn the basics, how to shift gears and steer and took it out on the road today and it was so fun! I live in Norway and i want to take my motorcycle license this summer. I haven’t gotten a motorcycle yet, but I feel like it’ll be a pretty simple learning curve for me, as I first learn to drive on a stick shift. The bike just seems to have a different orientation. Also, my previous mountain biking experience will probably lend itself well to learning how to ride a motorcycle.

I believe the best combination is the MSF course and owning a low cc bike. Started on r3 2 years later I’m on a gsxr750. MSF teaches While low cc bike let’s you work on your skills on a forgiving bike.
I have my cbt booked for 2 weeks time and have never been on a motercycle before and this video was very helpful. I want to be somewhat familiar with controls so it doesnt take more than one day and i can start riding as soon as possible

Not gonna be a dick and just save this to my favourites and not give gratitude. I'm from the UK and this video gave me so much information and helped me pass my CBT. Thank you for the time and effort for this video to help other people.
If you learn to ride, two things you must practice and practice and practice: braking and going at very low speed. Going fast is kind of easy. If you know how to ride a bicycle, it’s the same: once you understand how you must manage weight and looking far, you got the essential. Now, braking is kind of a thing when you’re a noob. The muscle memory you have to acquire (right foot and right hand) requires time. Plus, you can’t brake in curves like in a car: you’ll fly off the bike. Running at low speed is, to me, the most important thing you must acquire. You must understand where’s the leverage point of your bike. Plus, it’s about 400-500 pounds you need to manage. Most bikes accidents occur at low speeds. Learn to ride in traffic. Practice, practice, practice. Get yourself voluntary in trafic to learn faster. Get friendly with your clutch, your gearbox, etc. Last thing: don’t get scared by all the steps described in this video. It sounds and looks complicated. But once you’re on the bike, most of this will only make sense and muscle memory will very quickly kick in. Just keep on keeping on, you’ll soon enough (less than a week) get very comfortable with all of this. Enjoy!
I would have addressed getting going by: 1. release clutch until the bike starts moving and hold the clutch at that point 2. once there is some speed you can fully release the clutch (usually at idle speed) 3. by giving some gas when the bike is already rolling you can start off faster, practice without first and then try with gas.
Go take an MSF course if you are a beginner. You do not need to be "teaching yourself" or learning from your friend. Learn from a real coach, on a real beginner bike. It is well worth the money spent and so much cheaper than crashing and ruining your self-confidence.
I have to say, I took the MSF Course, and it was reassuring being on a bike I could lay down and walk away from. BUT!! They don’t have some hidden knowledge they teach you, you can 100% teach yourself, and be fine. Is all we learned in class was how to use the bike on a functional level, it in no way prepared me for being on the road.
Sadly I took the MSF and decided to not show up the last day because it didn't feel like I need it. I definitely want to take the advance course though

Get rider training folks. It is ridiculous that the USA has such a low barrier to entry where biking is concerned. They are not toys and nobody is "just ready" to ride. Even the MSF course isn't that great either compared to the thorough level of training required in Europe to obtain a licence. Get trained. It is no wonder that an insurance company wanted to sponsor a video about new riders in the States. This is not a criticism of Chase or anyone else, it is just the reality of the situation. Save yourself the heartache (or ER bills) and do two things before you buy your first bike: 1. Get a full set of proper gear including a full-face helmet, boots intended for biking and gloves intended for riding as well. 2. Get proper training.
honestly i think the low barrier to entry is good cause overly strict regulations like those in europe and beyond tend to discourage people from taking up riding due to the hassle of having to jump through all the different regulations instead of learning at their own pace. i personally started on a ducati monster ( i rode dirt bikes as a kid for quite a few years before this) and others may want to start on something mid range instead of a total beginner bike but with european regs they wouldn’t be able to do so🤷🏻♂️ do agree on taking a rider course though.
As an European it's absolutely wild to think y'all there can go to a dealer, buy any bike you want and just ride it legally after some short "course", lol. We need tens of hours of both theory and practice before we can even try doing the tests for the license, which are not easy to pass. Freedom is nice but you are taking it a bit too literally in a few aspects 😅
@@nathan-ls8yw Very bad take, riders in Europe (at least the civilized countries), after a course, know all the basics how to ride and can further improve their skills on local tracks that have motorsport clubs with professionals to teach people advanced techniques. Motorcycles are taken seriously here, as they should. Not for people who just feel like riding and have money to do that :) The whole driver license course here is literally what you're saying about taking rider courses, that is the point. You don't need one once you pass all the tests here, it requires tens of hours of riding and learning theory before you even get an opportunity to do an exam. You're required to learn to slalom at a speed, to brake properly, to do tight turns (it's called an "eight", because that's the shape of the "course") and other stuff and then only if you pass, you can ride in a city and do a lot of hours there too with an instructor. This makes people who pass way safer, cause they have to know how to do all that.
This is a good quick start guide! I’d still recommend the msf course. I’m a new rider. About 3 months in. I never rode two wheels ever. Only quads so I was aware of clutch and shifting. I took the msf course and they definitely taught me how to ride two wheels. I never would’ve thought I’d be riding two wheels. I got me a 2023 R7 and it’s been the best lol idk why I didn’t do it sooner. Definitely recommend going to a empty parking lot once you get your first bike and get use to your bike. Great vid! I shoulda watched one of these before I started the journey
People say all the time don't get a new bike for your first bike but the CF Moto 450 is so enticing with the price level compared to used bikes. Would it still be a bad decision?
You will definitely love the bike, but that will only make it worse when you drop it. Also, you might not ride it for long, and the resale value of a brand like CFMOTO most likely won't be great.
Forget the people that talk about dropping it, resale value, and/or the CFMoto brand, that’s why they can’t ride, if it’s something that you want, i say get it. A motorcycle is a motorcycle 😁
My dealer through in a extended warranty for additional 3 years so got 5 years warranty coverage. Due to a few issues lost my owners manual missing strap for tool kit under seat missing 5 mm Allen wrench under pillion seat, had to replace battery, gave me a free moose trickle charger

It seems really weird to me to lean on something with a gear indicator, and a rev counter, when I think about it. When I was learning to ride in 1980 I had a green light on the speedo for neutral, and that was it. A month ago I bought the first bike I ever owned with a gear indicator.

If I’m on gear 3 and needs to come to a stop, do I just press on the clutch and hold on to the brake? Will the bike automatically change to N at that point?
No, if you’re riding in 3rd gear & brake to stop, you are still in 3rd gear-while at a stop, best to downshift to 1st gear while holding the brake. (Safest to stop in 1st in case you must take off in emergency situations to avoid a collision). If you stop & downshift to N, you could at least rest both your hands & stretch a little. (Must act quick & upshift if you need to avoid a collision). For any stop though, you must engage both clutch & brakes. (Which brakes you choose depends on how you ride or speed you’re in). Hope that helps.
How come when you stated to slowly release throttle while shifting gear but you release it quickly, instead? Wouldn't that jerk the bike when you release the throttle quickly before shifting?
I think you could have explained what popping the clutch is for noobies..that was my biggest issue when first starting... can save people from accidently looping out.

There is however a SR-S version, comes with one single sided swing arm, adjustable front end and some extra goodies. US probably won't get them until 2024
What's the best bike for a beginner. I don't wanna get bored quick with it either. And I don't like the sport bike superbike look. Something that mimicks it's nimbleness though.
Oh! I think you’re ready to ride. Are you ready to go on the road? That’s a totally different question. I’m a big fan of “practice, practice and practice”. There’s so much you can teach. Quickly, a new rider has to get on the bike and do it. Doing it in a safe environment is the important point, here. It’s more difficult in the country to find big and wide parking lots. Once you found a spot to practice, you’ll learn very quickly.

I am not from the US, you have to take classes (12 of them) and do a practical test so you can have your license here in Europe. And since I am not 24 or older, I can only get the A2 license which you have to be at least 18 in order to get it.

Bro slow the hell down you are moving way too fast especially for a novice!!!!!!!!!! Front brake is not technically correct and using only your front brake isn't proper either, its a good practice to use both the front and rear together when initially braking then slowly release the rear brake while increasing front brake as needed.

ARC course is my favorite
I never took a course 100% self taught only dropped it three times since I bought it brand new in 2019

i found that if put a bit of rpm and release the clutch slowly, it works better for me

The 450 is my first. 2k miles in atm. Never been dropped (knock on wood) and it's super nimble/light which I love.

If I’m on gear 3 and needs to come to a stop, do I just press on the clutch and hold on to the brake? Will the bike automatically change to N at that point?
No, if you’re riding in 3rd gear & brake to stop, you are still in 3rd gear-while at a stop, best to downshift to 1st gear while holding the brake. (Safest to stop in 1st in case you must take off in emergency situations to avoid a collision). If you stop & downshift to N, you could at least rest both your hands & stretch a little. (Must act quick & upshift if you need to avoid a collision).
For any stop though, you must engage both clutch & brakes. (Which brakes you choose depends on how you ride or speed you’re in).

How come when you stated to slowly release throttle while shifting gear but you release it quickly, instead? Wouldn't that jerk the bike when you release the throttle quickly before shifting?
I think you could have explained what popping the clutch is for noobies..that was my biggest issue when first starting... can save people from accidently looping out.

What is the difference in specs between the 450sr and the ss version?
Americans get the SS and everyone else gets the SR, they're the same bike. Just different branding.
There isn't one, I don't think so at least. The SR is the EU name, and SS is for the US.
Some of the overseas variants have a single sided swing arm on the SS. In the US, the SS is the same as the overseas SR
@@avalanche7645 though i think the us does have less restrictions on power, so we get 50hp instead of 47 and little more torque
There is however a SR-S version, comes with one single sided swing arm, adjustable front end and some extra goodies. US probably won't get them until 2024

Oh! I think you’re ready to ride. Are you ready to go on the road? That’s a totally different question. I’m a big fan of “practice, practice and practice”. There’s so much you can teach. Quickly, a new rider has to get on the bike and do it. Doing it in a safe environment is the important point, here.
It’s more difficult in the country to find big and wide parking lots. Once you found a spot to practice, you’ll learn very quickly.

I am not from the US, you have to take classes (12 of them) and do a practical test so you can have your license here in Europe. And since I am not 24 or older, I can only get the A2 license which you have to be at least 18 in order to get it.

Good video, but the CFMOTO 450 is way too small for a beginner. I'd start with a Kawasaki H2 at a minimum. Maybe H2R.
H2 might be a bit too much, but a ZX-10RR would be a perfect starting point.

Bro slow the hell down you are moving way too fast especially for a novice!!!!!!!!!! Front brake is not technically correct and using only your front brake isn't proper either, its a good practice to use both the front and rear together when initially braking then slowly release the rear brake while increasing front brake as needed.
