I am surely that “one person” you have managed to inspire. I’ve forever been stuck with the “ambitious but lazy” title. Stumbling upon your “I drew for 1000 hours straight” video , I have realised how sheer consistency and dedication towards your goals can yield you remarkable results. I admire your resilience and hope to reach the same. Thank you really!
Currently i think I'm at the step of I'm doing art as a hobby, drawing (which objectively I'm worse at) and music, i want to learn drawing better, i've been doing music for 11 years now, i really want to learn to draw better for myself, not for anyone else, just so i have that skill so i can draw my mind out if i want to, just like music, i don't do it specifically for anyone else than myself, sure i share it and everything but the main motivation is: "DO FOR YOURSELF, NOT FOR OTHERS" and it works, for me at least.
I just watched the last video of learning how to draw, im really planning on doing it (21 days late) but this is rlly giving me the motivation to pull through on it
You inspire me I saw one of your previous videos and seing this one rly made me think "wow he rly IS still doing it!" You rly got the habit down to the core man :)
I learned the lesson of want vs need when i decided to travel across the county on a motorcycle carrying only what I could and unsure of where I would be sleeping every day. Humans will always take the easy road. I found that I needed to put myself in a position where the easy option was to do the hard thing. I have now been drawing every day for about 5 months now and it has become such a habit that even days I dont' feel like drawing I have the urge to draw and end up drawing. I would describe the urge as similar to a sugar craving. It doesn't go away until it's satisfied. Some days I draw less, but I don't consider that failing. Every day I draw is a success even if the art is bad or I am not mentally there. Just keeping that habit is the need, studying and developing the skill to achieve my own goals is a necessity.
Low-key picked up drawing and started drawing everyday cause of your 1000 day vid and I'm now approaching 50 straight days. Just commenting to say that you've inspired me to start working on things outside of school and work life.
I've been trying to find ways how to "make" myself draw because I want to take it more seriously. I wasn't sure how to do that, but watching your video gave me inspiration on how I can finally approach it. The idea "That's simply just me. I need it" and "I won't survive without it" is a great way of expressing how I feel about art (or anything creative). I can't stop doing it, because if I don't do it, I feel miserable. But I don't always feel like I can do it either (shortage of time, studying, other responsibilities). Thanks for the video! I believe that watching your artistic journey is a great motivator not just for me, but for other people too.
Unique videos the feel different from the rest . love your vids, this style of vid is perfect. I accidentally got the i need to draw mindset after drawing for a around 6 months everday with intetntion, then i missed a day and realized . This mindset is neccesay and not a lot of videos on it. Honestly these vids motivate me a ton, thanks for this goated content.
Dude I had decided at the beginning of this year that i would finally draw every single day even if all it was was a few scribbles as longas I filled up a page in my sketchbook. And watching this video I realized that I had somehow done what you just described in order to get myself to draw everyday. Before i was always complaining about having no motivation to draw a bunch, but I was looking at it the wrong way expecting myself to bust out full on illustrations everyday. In reality spending just 15-30 minutes at any random point in the day works really well as long as you're practicing something. even for me as a full time college student I open up my sketchbook and fill one page in it before I go to bed and just post it on tumblr so that i can hold myself accountable (not like i have enough attention for a follower or something to do so) but I can't wait to see what I'll be drawing after a year or even more! TLDR; Don't worry about what it looks like as long as you get something on the page once a day you're making progress and keep that up and see how far you'll go! You can do it I believe in y'all!
My motivation for art is progress and i do this trick where i paint the same thing from a simple thumbnail to a full fledged painting, it helps me a lot because I get to see what change, my weaknesses and what I improve in and it reminds me that I’m actually making progress and not stuck in a loop
I can't tell if I have the need to draw. I've definitely missed days here and there this month and try not to stress over it. I did think to myself on those days I wish I could draw on my phone, but the brain is weird. Old dude with depression so idk. I have a plan for the next few weeks so I'll probably be drawing mostly every day for a while. I did burn out last year though, drew 100 days and then fell off for nearly as long, I don't really want that to happen again.
you're content is really great, it has basically motivated me to draw more. Becoming an Artist was the dream my young self wanted to achieve, but for me personally it seems to be more "hard" to achieve it due to High expectations the people I know have to me.
Honestly seeing someone who has drawn for 1000 days makes me embarrassed to share this but ever since the beginning of this year I’ve been drawing might not sound crazy but 20 days in a row I’m honestly pretty proud of myself so far and one thing that helped me out was keeping track of the things you do in the day even if your stacked with homework a project or studying for an exam I try to leave at least 20 minutes you can even try less maybe like 10 minutes do a couple sketches some gesture or quickly do a little anatomy at this point in time I’ve been doing gesture for the past 20 days and there is a couple sketches on characters that are interesting to me and I hope I can do it for 365 a little fun fact I think it was the 6-7th day I was about to go to sleep and forgot to do it so I stayed awake for another 30 minutes at like 11:00 and fell asleep right after I laughed it off the next day but I was quite scared of losing my streak wanted to tell my freind at the end of the year and 350 days wouldn’t sound as impressive to me 😂😂
Very inspiring stuff and the work schedule you posted earlier has genuinely has motivated me to get back into drawing again this year which feels great to do again after being out of it for so long. But did you win the 50/50???
Well that's true I was also feeling burnout or i can say that not wanted to draw but i kept myself to draw daily for 17days and during my periodic test so me the lazy one can do u can also be consistent and try to keep one thing in your mind that you will be able to draw in ypur style or whatever you see so be patience 😁
To do something forever, you shouldn't do it all at once. This is an interesting sentiment, mostly because of its implications. A bit off topic, but is the idea of living forever so dreadful because we consider the eternity that we would experience in a single moment? If we were to consider "eternal life" as an eternity of "now", would it be so hard?
hello! It's a very cool video. Made me think and tell myself: - That's what I'm doing, damn it. or- he's doing the same thing as me! in general, thank you very much for your motivation and help. I've been drawing according to your plan every day for 11 days now. I draw 6 sketches a day and every time I feel like I'm getting better, and sometimes even worse. But anyway, I've signed up for you, and I'm going to follow your plan with you all year. Thank you from CGDreamer!
I ask any of you who relate to this feeling to watch, What "follow your dreams" misses, here on youtube. There's a lot of views on discipline that I didn't hear until that video. In short though, the desire to create for this reason is very relatable. Thanks for the video End point though I should add, that speech I mentioned above has a quote along the lines of "Motivation is the result of discipline" sometimes you just need to make to feel the reward
Some of your art pieces reminds me of Aleksander Rostov art style, Art Director of Disco Elysium. He also inspired by Craig Mullins iirc. I know this is off topic, I just had a feeling if you study their art style you might discover something that can help improve your art even more.
youre doing great !! your video format Is such a nice watch

Also I'd recommend splashing in some of Marc Brunet's 1 year plan to draw

Very good and well explained video you managed to deliver a not so easy to understand concept good
