To clear everyone's confusion here. CMF is just copying what other brands in India like Fire-Boltt and Noise do which is that they make a watch like fitness band and sell it as a "smart watch". There are big margins for this and most of these companies basically take the components from the same vendor in China and then just package it differently. So CMF will just create a better looking package and sell it for more. BTW, 4500 Rs is on the higher end for this kind of product. Products go for way cheaper here. Plus at that price point, they can push millions of these making huge profits for almost no investment which is exactly what Nothing needs right now.

I think we can see why only MKBHD is a reputed tech reviewer among them. Even MI Band series are cheaper and still they are pretty solid with a limited functionality. No wear OS so no fancy snapdragon processors to increase the price but a better battery life in return. If it do the basic stuff well with a solid build quality, it has a great potential for the budget market.

I've got an Amazfit Bip 3. I got it because I can't wear a smartwatch at work so I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something I would really only wear half the day. All in all I like it though, my needs are pretty simple, it tracks heartrate and blood oxygen ok, the pedometer is good, it's good at controlling music and volume, the watch functions work fine, and the battery lasts about 2 weeks. The apps aren't super polished and can be a bit annoying, but I'm happy with it, especially at the price point. If I end up in a situation where I would wear a smartwatch all day I would probably get a nicer one, but it is good for what it is.

Really ignorant video for a huge tech youtuber like MKBHD. There are countries outside USA who cannot affort $600 Apple smartwatches. Just look at the market size for smartwatches in India, look at the top companies, their average selling prices. There is a huge market for sub $50 smartwatches in South Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe and many other developing countries. Sure they might not have WearOS or satellite enabled SOS, but they do the basic job of calling, fitness and health tracking. Nothing just wants to capture a pie in that market, and Carl Pei already has a lot of credibility behind his name to execute this.

You can pretty much get same specs and build quality as the CMF watch for roughly $ 25-30 in today's Indian watch market. So, $55 is still on the higher side and targeting the premium smart feature watch segment. Remember, Galaxy Watch 4 44mm often goes for as less as $ 85 during sales. So, Indian watch market is pretty competitive at this point in time :)

I don't see too many people around me, with a smartwatch. It's for a niche market. I just don't like the idea of charging my watch everyday. It makes simple things unnecessarily complicated. A normal watch works better for me. The only possible benefit of a smartwatch is you can watch who is calling you when you are driving a Car. But that does not justify its price. There is hardly anything special these smartwatches can do. Probably the most overpriced and least useful device ever. I feel the same way about Tablets.

I bought the cmf watch by nothing, and I must say that I love it. I spent $25 on a new band (the bright orange was all that was available at the time - too bright for me) - almost half of the cost of the watch itself. It's a slick looking watch that has all the features I really care about. There are drawbacks like no third party apps, no Apple Pay or Google Play, but really I hardly ever used those on my other Android wear watches (I don't have an Apple Watch). I use it with my iPhone 13 and get all my notifications, answering phone calls on the watch is crystal clear audio both ways, it has an always on display option, and the battery lasts for 4-5 days on a single charge. Like I said, I love it and think it's a nice looking piece of tech to wear on your wrist.

I classify these as a fitness band. A smartwatch proper, would integrate with the OS directly, no app needed (Apple Watch with iPhone, wearOS watches with androids, samsung watches with Samsung phones).
Fitness bands, on the other hand, need an app to function. A lot of those smartwatches you see on Amazon are fitness bands, with larger displays and better styling. Those things sell for between 20 to 200USD equivalent depending on the design and screen.

If the Watch Pro feels like the successor to the Pebble, I'd be very interested in checking it out. I've been wearing Apple Watches every day for years now, and I love them, but the Pebble was my first smartwatch and still in many ways my favorite, so I'm very curious to check this out, even if I only use it as a back-up watch.

Its seems like its made for the biggest smartwatch market- India, where then market is dominated by mediocre Bluetooth calling watches, most of which are rebranded Chinese watches, and the price seems like its gonna fit. Neither too expensive, in the Indian market, like the Apple watch or from Samsung, but for the price seems like its gonna be shaka -laka-boom-boom.

With CMF sub brand, Nothing is trying to target the Indian market (Which is massively price sensitive). Considering that, it makes sense that nothing is selling it for 4500 Rupees. Additionally nothing is manufacturing/assembling their products in India which allows them to cash out on subsidies from Indian Government keeping their cost low.
Another thing to note is that 55$ is relatively cheap for American market, the same cannot be said for India. 4500 Rupees is still a mid tire product in Indian market.

i am using NOISE COLORFIT FORCE PLUS sporty colored amoled smartwatch
    i paid around Rs. 3500 (i.e. $42) for it. i
It's good, has basic functionality, calling via bluetooth (drains the battery if used excessively) and a 3 - 4 days battery life with AOD.

I bought a 34€ smartwatch not long ago... really good one Amoled, normal sensors (heartrate, steps, blood oxygen, sleep) ... no applications though, and no GPS but it works really good with a long week battery... the Hello Watch 3

I have one these Amazon smart watch and it does the job for me. I just use it for notifications and track my running. I use to have Apple's Watch when I was using an iPhone but I never used it beyond the same basic notification and running features. I think if you don't need the extra watch features then save yourself $200.

About 6 or 7 years ago I bought some cheapie Android based smart watches that looked like my Samsung one. They worked well. They tracked steps the same, they did notifications the same, the UI was more button based than touch based, and it didn't look as polished for graphics but it did the job. It had a space for a SIM card, which my Samsung one it was mimicking didn't. I found that a decade or more ago with an iPad knock off. I had more functions on the knock-off than I did on the original, and I could buy like 8 knock-offs for the cost of a real iPod at the time.

    Amazfit is not by Amazon.
It's a band in disguise of smart watch. They have really good build quality and amoled screens however the OS is not that advance .
It can make calls , show msgs , track steps pretty accurately and that's about it.

Presumably there's an SOC that does some basic "smartwatch" things (like give you 100 faces and 100 workouts), and the difference in price is the quality of the case and band, and how many get junked rather than going out the factory door with defects. But if it won't run Wear, will it have any apps? That is, be a real smart watch?
