This is a GREAT video/game, by the way. These are 100% real world questions and considerations. More like this! (suggestion: whatever is leftover is "for accessories")
Really fun gimmick. Would love to see more iterations of this style/format because everyone prioritizes different things differently Also interesting that all 3 wanted an android phone, but like the apple tablet/laptops!
Macbook is better for the kind of videos editting they do. Final cut pro is the software they use on studio . ipad series are the best tablet since they exist. Gaming/phone/headphone they dont need apple device.
@Than that doesn’t really have anything to do with their responses; they already said that they are only picking for leisure, of which they included editing/video-making as part of work.
I love the fact that you were all serious about this fantasy shopping thing lol and you all did an amazing job- cant wait for more videos like this one.....Thank you so much for this splendid video- please Keep them coming....
Y’all showing your ability to budget is actually amazing when you have access to everything and anything. You just taught a real life skills class that I think should be in HS… Consumer tech knowledge + self-awareness of personal values.
13:30 Worth noting that the M2 isn't *that* much faster than the M1 while the lower capacity SSDs in the M2 Macs are half as fast as the M1 due to configuration changes
My personal choices with that budget would be: $1500 used acer swift 3 (sub $500), pixel 7a ($449), sony xm5 headphones ($400ish) $500 lenovo flex 5 used ($300), pixel 4a $(110), pixel buds a ($60) $2000 used m1 macbook pro 14" ($1300), iphone 13 mini used ($449), air pods pro 2 ($200)
This was an amazing game to play. When you have a "Certain budget" like 1.5k or 2k, like "most middle class" people, then you start to realise how absurd some pricing logics are. A 1.1k device like in iPad can end up 300 dollars more simply for doubleing the storage and there goes a big chunk of your budget
For the 500 Budget Im going with an old razer phone 2 because I can flash lineoge os and make it new for only 150-200 , The Razer phone actually has a version of samsung dex on it via an app i forgot the name of it . Its what they used for project linda . Then I would just used the rest of the budget on a dock, monitor,bt kbm and a pair of ugreen headphones
Electric mowers are still pretty noisy. I have the 2x18v Ryobi and it's as loud as my old corded electric. Still way quieter than my big old 6.5hp Husqvarna.
With $1500 I'd buy a iPhone 14 Pro $1099, Jabra Elite 10's $249, Mint Mobile Unlimited Plan for $45 for new customers and now I have everything to be a content creator.
Personal choices $1,500: MacBook Air M1 from Amazon: $749 OnePlus 11 $649 HomePod Mini $99 $500: (this was hard lol) Refurbished 15 inch MacBook Pro from Reeblo USA: $301 One Plus 8 used from eBay: $125 Echo Dot 5th gen from Kohl’s : $35 $2000 15 inch MacBook Air from Amazon: $1,249 OnePlus 11: $649 HomePod Mini: $99
Interesting choice to go with a smart speaker over headphones. Never really used one, but I'm also using my bluetooth ear buds less and less. For noisey environments I use my professional wired in ear monitors (I'm a musician) and in the gym I recently prefered the increased presence/focus of not wearing headphones at all.
For 1500 USD I would take: - An HP Aero 13.3 laptop with 16GB/512 GB (it has a Ryzen 6000 series which is extremely good) for 620 USD on HP website. - A Pixel 7 for 449 USD - Sony WH-1000XM5 for 399 USD
For the budget of $20,000 by the DJI Inspire series, then the Z fold five and then buy the most expensive headphones that I can find or most expensive earbuds, or just waste everything and get a Hasselblad😂
Having only 3 pieces of tech is so ridiculously limiting. For example just having a basic Desktop setup is 4 items including the desktop computer, a monitor, a keyboard, and a mouse. And that is before you factor in any USB hubs, microphones, webcams, game controllers etc. It is a fun thought experiment but it straight up removes the ability to do so many things
@@greylawson6352People are limited by budgets but no one is limited by “number of gadgets” so the latter eats into the utility of the former in the game
For the $500 Used pixel 3a-5a with graphene os installed under $200 is just a damn steal dont have to be a baller for good shit just have to be willing to sacrifice luxury and speed sometimes
ok i would totally do it this way Lenovo Duet 5 - 369 on sale best buy: tablet/ laptop Pixel 6 Pro used - 349 amazon refurb, phone ROG Ally - 699 gaming $1417
For $1500 I would get a refurbished Mac Mini m2 (base model) with a used Apple Thunderbolt display(27inch,1440p!) and a refurbished/used iPhone 12 mini
For around €950 I recently got an Apple Watch Series 6 - LTE (used but new condition), Brand new airpods pro 2 and an iPhone Mini 13 (used but new condition 100% battery condition).
$500 is easy though. For a year, that's more than all the money I'll need. My current phone is $200. I can get a Moondrop Aria or something nice like that for $75 (they're wired IEMs). And then I'll save the remaining $225 since none of my engineering student work is gonna get done on that budget anyway lol. This is an easy game. If I HAVE to buy something, I'll get a bt speaker for some alone music listening in my room. For like $50 or so. Matter of fact, my non-work things right now cost less than $300. My phone is $200 (Moto G72, charger included) , my earphones $20 (Moondrop Chu), my power band $20 (Mi 3i 20k mAh), my smartband $25 (Mi Band 5), my Bluetooth speaker $10 (some cheap local brand called Fingers), and that's it. My laptop is $800 (I got it for free though. It's a good laptop, especially for free lol) so that won't fit the budget but if you're counting that as work anyway then I guess it doesn't count.
math classes with the extra budget?
😂😂😂😂
Honestly ..😂
guys just get one more mic 😂
I say they should remove one more mic 🎤
@@javiervasquez8797 😂
exactly they all got the money. stop the cheapness lol
@@javiervasquez8797 same here. Too many voices when listening as a podcast.
I think it’s almost a running joke now and it would just be weird if they each have their own mics.
You guys should have to live in real life and vlog it for like 2 to 4 weeks. And see how well your choices were.
Agreed
A week is still good
awesome idea
absolutely! i'd love to see them balling on a budget and see how it affects their initial opinions and if they would have chose differently by the end
absolutely, make it happen
This is a GREAT video/game, by the way. These are 100% real world questions and considerations. More like this! (suggestion: whatever is leftover is "for accessories")
This is a great idea for a segment. The guy that thought it up deserves praise and a surface pro.
This was fun. Additionally would have been nice to hear some kind of "What would you miss the most while using your choices"

Y’all showing your ability to budget is actually amazing when you have access to everything and anything.

I love how unphased David is about this, "I love used stuff" 😂.
short answer: not the Pixel Fold
13:30 Worth noting that the M2 isn't *that* much faster than the M1 while the lower capacity SSDs in the M2 Macs are half as fast as the M1 due to configuration changes
Id buy the cooling block from LTT
hahaha
This should be done every year! This says a LOT about what tech items are the most amazing real world value!
My personal choices with that budget would be:
$1500
used acer swift 3 (sub $500), pixel 7a ($449), sony xm5 headphones ($400ish)
$500

$2000
used m1 macbook pro 14" ($1300), iphone 13 mini used ($449), air pods pro 2 ($200)
I like your choices, but I'm not sure if I'd spend more on headphones, when on a tighter budget
1/3 of the budget for headphones is definitely a lot.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Crappy choices, getting a MacBook Air with a pro iPhone is the best choice.
@@AnonN-sr6uu why a "Pro" iPhone? That's super unnecessary, when on a budget
You could customize your base m2 air and add the 512gb storage for $200. The model that’s $300 more includes a gpu upgrade
One of my favourite Waveform vids so far!!!
Andrews face when that AI-generated music played 😂😂

Mkbhd the humble channel we always knew and loved as the best
Tax department: “Are we a joke to you?”
At 6:02 should’ve made the under budget amount green in stead of red. Would make it clear that MKBHD is in the green.
You guys should put Marques face in the thumbnail for a good algorithm 😂

can we get a vlog of Andrew cutting hit grass with a pair of scissors 🤣🤣
This challenge should be done by the whole studio crew!
Once you know, you can't unsee the wooden picture covering the ugly thermostat over Marques' left shoulder.
I feel so much better about not being able to do math in my head after watching Marques calculate.
Electric mowers are still pretty noisy. I have the 2x18v Ryobi and it's as loud as my old corded electric. Still way quieter than my big old 6.5hp Husqvarna.

For 2k, Could get m2 air, pixel 7 + pixel buds pro, sometimes there are bundles
There is a black vertical line on the camera pointing to the guy explaining the video
with the recent sale prices for $1500, Pixel 7, m1 macbook air, pixel buds pro brings you in at $1340
Putting sound quality and battery life as the key things to look; Which are the three best headphones that range between $150-350?

S23 ultra (marques loves the dex so laptop issue solved) + good Bluetooth earphones + good keyboard/mouse combo
how’s he gonna use dex? he didn’t have leftover budget for a monitor, mouse, or keyboard
For the record, it’s $200 for the extra MacBook storage. That $300 increase was also including the chip upgrade from 8 to 10 GPU cores.
At least the guy in green got a gaming setup, respect.
What headphones are they wearing? It's not the ATH-M50 right?
Get the Bowers and Wilkins Px7 S2’s I’m listening on them now and they are amazing! The noise cancellation is like almost too good sometimes 😅lol

$349 for a beeline mini pc 16gb ryzen 7. Plays like 85% of games with the other 15% on potato settings.
A nice alternative would be a Steam deck, second hand is about 450 euros for 512 gb with a wireless keyboard & mouse
pixel 7a
0:33 wait why?
8:39 but will the Pixel 4a be slow???
Not a new one for $160.

Which software do you use to make AI generated music. I want to try it out.
Marquez looking like he wants to go back to bed tbh

So Marquez is trying to tell us that he doesn't game at home? No racing sim or anything? No tv? You'd be happy with the iPad?
Marquez could have gotten the whxm4's from Sony and stay within budget

This question would have been better if it was a set amount for everyone so we could get a better idea of how to buy on a budget across tech.
