- One of the greatest players in Champions League history, Ryan Giggs is also the all time leader in UCL assists, along with his former Manchester United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo. In this video we compiled all the 40 assists of the famous welsh player from beginning to end, following the Opta method (no rebounds, passes with deflection or penalties suffered).

I'm not sure he never made an assist from 93-97, but it's a great video nontheless, about the greatest winger of the 90s\early 2000s, along with Figo; surely the most complete if we count the insane work rate. And also, he shags who he wants. A total legend.

@@EmeWesley First link you should look around 4:24, the defender does not touch the ball at all.
While the second one is deflected, Opta's definition of assist (the most strict that is really used) says it is still an assist as long as the deflection was not too heavy. The deflection is very slight, the pass would have reached the same player if not for the deflection. According to Opta criteria it should be an assist.

These are his all 264 assists for Manchester United. It includes his 46 assists in the UCL (Ofc, 2 of them are in the play-off stage)

They only started the count around the year 2000. If you look at their top 100 most assists you will notice no player who retired prior to the year 2000 appears.
