He was much better than Henry in his prime and the best player I've ever seen in England was Gazza closely followed by the great Matt Le Tissier. The FA always have bump up the european players though becuae theyr'e fckinhg globalists who hate english pride and nationalism. Look what they've just done to the cross of st george as they've taken it off the new England shirt. Ryan giggs was brilliant, and he also has something like 600 plus goal and assists contributions during his United career. And for Me Man Utd were the best team every to watch, their football was sublime better than Barcelona's triangle keep the ball bullshit. York, Cole, Sherringham and Solskar were the best squad of forwards in the world at the time. All having up to 75 assists in their Premier League careers. York was a goal machine as was Cole who didn't even take pens. Andy Cole could have beaten Shearers goal record if he was also a pen taker. Ryan Giggs is always first pick on the wings for me, there was no other player better than him in that position in Premier League history.
Like him or not, Giggs could do it all.. pass, dribble, cross, assist, tackle, score and he always gave 100% United were always more of a threat when he was playing.
I had a season ticket at Old Trafford for his entire career ('87-2014), so saw a a lot of him, as Fergie played him every game he was fit. As he got older, he changed his game 3 times, to be 3 different players. Even in his late 30's, he could still mesmerize a full back. Added Phase 1 He debuted as an out-and-out winger. "Chalk on his boots" United had a tradition of wingers hugging the touchline. Coppel and Barnes, konchekskis, Jesper Olsen, Sharpe and several others. Giggs was in that mold. His close control was unbelievable, pace over 6 yards unmatched. In those days, if you were a tricky winger, the fullbacks would give you a good boot in the first few minutes "to slow you down" That was every game for Giggs. It was so obvious, and unfair, they changed the rules to protect the wingers. This was in the time was when Giggs would turn them inside, then outside, so fast that Fergie said he gave fullbacks "twisted blood" For many of his early seasons he was out injured, half of every season. Then the rules on fouls changed, he changed his car and took up yoga, and managed to play more of the games Phase 2 His 2nd phase was when he lost some pace, and couldn't get past the third defender, so had to give himself more time, and deliver his cross earlier, often starting 5 yards in from the touchline and playing an earlier diagonal cross, not from the byline, and pulled back to edge of 6 yard box or edge of box to a late arriving midfielder. Still a winger but more measured and thoughtful. Phase three He was in midfield but often in a three, not 4. The 4 4 2 formation became less successfully, especially in Europe. He could still burn one defender, but he had less stamina, and could it do it once or twice a game, so had to pick his moments. Most players had retired at his age, so he was an enigma. Fergie started using him as sub and he was good. Fergie usually subbed at 73 minutes. An opposition fullback would have had a solid 70 minutes , matching the United players runs, closing him off, and would think he was doing ok. Then the subs board would go up, his opposing winger would go off, and he would see Giggs warming up . "Oh CRP, just when I'm knackered, Ryan Giggs! " He was decent in midfield three, knew when to play a pass, and great weight, so the winger or attacker could run on to it, without needing a touch to get it under control,
Can you say a bit more about those 3 changes? I'm genuinely very interested. I have only started watching football from around 2002. At the time Giggs was still a great winger, but you could maybe say he already started declining as a winger at the time and slowly started to lose his pace. I was AMAZED later on, after a few season, when Ferguson started to use him more often in some central areas, still not as an out and out CM, but he would ofted drift there... I was amazed with his vision and the quality of his passing. I remember at first few good (I mean brilliant) passes/assists he made I though he got a bit lucky... But he just continued to do it on a regular basis. To some part, I have maybe underestimated, or overlooked, his vision in those earlier seasons. Or maybe he developed it and improved it, can't be sure. Just haven't wached enough of him in his earlier - proper winger era. Now you're saying he had THREE changes. I only know he was a winger in the 90s, early 2000s, and later started to switch to the CM position. I'm quite intrigued to know what 3 changes you have in mind and generally would like to hear more about him from the tactical standpoint, especially from someone who watched him closely for his whole career. Btw he was so good in 2011 as a CM, maybe his peak as a CM, but he was great in the few season before that too. I couldn't believe he would become a more influential passer/playmaker to United than Scholes, but that's what he was at that time. Also I think the way Ferguson used him in those late years was just genius. Kept him fresh for the most important games. Also I still can't forget that return leg against Madrid in 2013, where United should have gone through and they totally outplayed Madrid (even Mourinho admitted it), where Giggs played as a right winger, to cut inside etc, and he was still so good and quick while being 40.

Beckham wasn't a natural winger. Great as he was, and I mean great, he wasn't an orthodox winger. In today's game he'd be played inside or even as a deep-lying playmaker.
One of Giggs' traits is his incredible body balance while dribbling. in Sir Alex Ferguson book, he mentions this : "he can't fall down". even SAF said he told Giggs just to fall down in opponent penalty box, but Giggs looked at him confused, as he can't.

There's a great story about one of his early games, when he was being kicked to bits by some Right Back. Bryan Robson swapped positions with him for 10 minutes and sorted the opponent, "you can go back now, you'll have no more problems".

It's so important to separate the personal life from the player he was. On the field he was a complete visionary and as per the title of this video, he'd be priceless
Giggs is by far the most iconic player in the EPL. He transcends all eras because if he was playing today no club would be able to buy him. He should be the first name in the EPL Hall of Fame. All geniuses have their flaws but these are rather sanctimonious times. Utd would not have been what they became without Giggs. Finest winger ever and even better than Best because he was more consistent and did it over a longer period. Before the Beckham bandwagon he also took a mean free kick and like Irwin was more consistent with converting them.
Giggs is probably to this day somewhat underrated it's like people forgot how good he was. He could fully sprint the ball the entire field like a rocket and not gas out, and he supplied some of the most clinical setups in the history of the Premier League.
Giggs should be the first in EPL Hall of Fame along with SAF. Its criminal offence to have left him out. In his prime he was the most exciting player to watch.
Giggsy has that weird running style that allow him to wiggle his feet right- left right left in high speed that really bamboozles defenders.. not that pacey but very hard to defense.

I don’t know how a team has Giggs , Scholes, Beckham , Van Nestlroy, Veron , Andy Cole , Roy Keane, and York and other legends doesn’t win the champions league at least three times?!!

Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, Running down the wing, Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, Running down the wing, Feared by the Blues, Loved by the Reds, Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs Really was the age of Legends in the 90’s
Modern wingers may score more but they have half the intelligence of this legend. That's why they're retired at 30 while he played another decade at the highest level.
My earliest memory of Ryan was when i was probably 5 and my Auntie saying she fancies him. I have a ball signed still he signed with the rest of one of the mid 90's squads.
Glad I watched most of those matches. Back in the day when footballers knew how to kick pass and cross. Nowadays, they can't even kick or cross proper.
this is the era where winger know when the time to dribble for himself and when to pass,, era where winger are to be love or hate love cause can take out defender or hate cause to many losing ball but giggsy always love cause know when to do both at right time, he can score and he can assist

@@magicfc1000 Ryan was a unique package but keeping your head up, looking for a pass is basics.
Most players would dream of 10 seasons in the premier league. Giggs played in 24 (including pre-PL first division). You can count how many players did that on one finger.
No other player shall ever manage that
Giggs with the perm hit different, lightening fast
Lightening is faster than electric, 🤣
what a player giggs was. loved growing up watching him. every game he played he never had a bad game was on fire every game. we will never see it again at utd.
Great man
A complete player. People forget what a monster he was.
I'll make sure they don't forget them just like that
Legendary Giggs can do everythings for all his teammates. My favorite!
Thank you 💕
Greatest left winger of all time ❤ 🔥 😊
Agreed 💯
Nah, Stalin.
@@DannyBoy777777 😂
he is up there. so he was my idol in south africa....early 90s..... but i was always like hey im seeing things done by me and my contemporaries thats more intricate than that in South Africa........ then i saw ronladhino..... and messi... but now as i get older, that giggs, beckham (not scholes) was really underated... i loved cantoner, but giggs was the the throw back winger, the guy i could identify with on tv to the genuis i might play on the saturday. on a saturday reg Giggs, he had hes lean years...and he became more of a midfielder.......showed he had an actual brain for football.... long live ryan giggs
Ronaldo
people were too young, they watched him in his mid 30s, it’s like watching ronaldo at 37 at saudi. not an accurate representation of what giggs in his very best could do. he was as quick as mbappe and this is what people werent aware of. how good of a slide tackler he was. even at 39 i saw him defending against top players. absolutely one of kind
Rashford, Garnacho and Antony should be locked in a room and made to watch videos like this until they understand what it is to be a proper winger.
That would be impactful
Rashford is a kid when compared to Giggs.
Ferguson team would be over billion.
Especially young beckham with so much influence and stardom.
I agree on this one
Not Beckham. But Giggs Cantona Keane Schmeichel.
@@aathamazhiqi3481
u right about that.
beckham high price due to commercial and image brand.
girls and woman crazy about him.
tv will pay sky high, any showtalks have to give him alot of cash, etc.
in old days, how many commercial giggs + cantona + keane?
its lower than beckham.
@johnl6852 but for football fans giggs Cantona Keane schmeichel give better value
And you never included the Semi Final goal V Arsenal !
Whaat! I downloaded a bulk file. I don't know where the Arsenal one went.
But still a great video ! Thanks @@magicfc1000
Arsenal really thought they were favourites that day. Nice
That’s his most famous goal lol
His pace on the ball was frightening. As the commentator said. "it's like a Mini trying to catch a Porsche"
🤣🤣🤣
There isn't a winger in the world right now how could run and dribble like that
This is the truth beyond doubt
Kvaratskhelia
then make accurate cross while on top speed dribbling
I’m a scouser and even I can tell you that giggs was an animal. Amazing talent
The angel dancing at the left flank ❤ damn, the good old just getting better and better when you look at how we play now😢😂
It's embarrassing but one day, it will be fine
There was no showboating or silly tricks just end product time and time again. Truly up there with the greats
That's Giggsy for you!
Giggs and scholes, all managers dream player to have
Very true
Glory Glory glory Man United!! Thanks Giggs for all the memories! Legend 🙌
He brought all glories to the stadium
Giggs on the left, Beckham on the right, Scholes the midfield wizard orchestrating the play and keano swearing at everyone and spitting, the perfect midfield.
That was a dream team
People tend to forget how good Giggs truly was.
Sure, but I'll keep reminding them
He runs like a wild mustang on the plains... The pitch is his to enjoy. And he's in total control of that ball. Messi wears Giggsy pyjamas.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Interesting
"like a dog chasing a piece of paper on the wind" Sir Alex Ferguson
Did he say this?
@@magicfc1000yes it’s in his autobiography, del pierro cried whilst watching him play , he was marking him at the time no less , said it was the most beautiful thing he’d seen in his life .
IMO Giggs and Sharpe were the best winger pairs of all time. I love Becks but man Sharpe was Giggs' equivalent on the right.
I didn't watch Sharpe properly, but I agree that Giggs as a winger was more clinical than Becks
Best left winger ever. Second best left foot winger Bale. United have never ever replaced Giggs.
They tried with Di Maria but didn't give him enough time
the greatest player thats never been to a major international tournament, as a scottish liverpool fan that hate man utd, i loved watching Giggs play he was phenomenal
the original wizard after george best
Very true
Maybe not that much but he'd definitely be up there. He was unstoppable at his peak.
Exactly, very true
Could add to this:
Free kicks against Southampton 92/93, Newcastle 93/94, Portsmouth 07/08?
Quick thinking free kick against Lille 06/07
Brilliant goal vs Spurs 92/93
Wonder goal against QPR 93/94
Wonder goal against Arsenal 98/99
Near wonder goal against Charlton (I think) 2002ish
Great goal against West Ham 2012/13?
It's so important to separate the personal life from the player he was. On the field he was a complete visionary and as per the title of this video, he'd be priceless
Thank tou very much. I must make part B of this and include all these
Agreed but Paul Scholes is an absolute f machine the volleys that he did back in the day is elite , both are very good players:)))
Very true also
£850 Million? No chance.
At 17 he was worth that.
And he got better with age.
Go figure that one out.
Therefore you agree
Giggs is by far the most iconic player in the EPL. He transcends all eras because if he was playing today no club would be able to buy him. He should be the first name in the EPL Hall of Fame. All geniuses have their flaws but these are rather sanctimonious times. Utd would not have been what they became without Giggs. Finest winger ever and even better than Best because he was more consistent and did it over a longer period. Before the Beckham bandwagon he also took a mean free kick and like Irwin was more consistent with converting them.
Wow, fantastic analysis. Thank you
His challengers could only knock on his door after they come back with 13 Premier League titles…
They can't compare
Giggs is probably to this day somewhat underrated it's like people forgot how good he was. He could fully sprint the ball the entire field like a rocket and not gas out, and he supplied some of the most clinical setups in the history of the Premier League.
That's very true. Stats don't speak of these
850, that's only 10 Anthonys. Surely more.
I just did approximate amount 🤣🤣🤣
Why just Antony? What about Maguire's unjustified price tag
@@mellyyoungestincharge1589 Maguire is a better center half than Giggs.
@@chris2003ize whatever man it's not even funny
Giggs should be the first in EPL Hall of Fame along with SAF. Its criminal offence to have left him out. In his prime he was the most exciting player to watch.
Alot of politics in this
Most of the squad of today ain’t fit to polish his boots
Starting with Antony
Giggsy has that weird running style that allow him to wiggle his feet right- left right left in high speed that really bamboozles defenders.. not that pacey but very hard to defense.
Fantastic explanation
Unforgettable moment FA CUP 1999 versus Arsenal. The greatest goal I ever seen🎉🎉
Wtf, I didn't check the FA section. I assumed that no good moment can be found there.
You are the third person to say this. I think I must do a part B of it
Giggs is a true Manchester united legend.
No questions
Garnacho needs to emulate this. MORE running at defenders.
He's trying though
He should watch these videos and practice, but the balance and speed is a gift.
4:00 that ball for Cantona 💯❤️👌🏼👍🏼🏴
Calculated before the ball arrived
Great player….no doubt. Would you trust him with your brothers wife?
dont like my brother so.....
No words
Old football was always interesting. Not too tactical like now. Just played ,run and made a trial shoot, share happiness together
850m is too less
Really 😂
How much would he be worth
Both Scholes and Giggs are so underrated. United were a different team without these two
They made many achievements possible
I barely made it to the bench in grade 6 to 7. After stumbling upon "Ryan Giggs Soccer Skills" one afternoon on TV, I was always selected.
His skills were simple and straightforward, copy-able easily
I don’t know how a team has Giggs , Scholes, Beckham , Van Nestlroy, Veron , Andy Cole , Roy Keane, and York and other legends doesn’t win the champions league at least three times?!!
It could be because of injuries but it should, however, Yorke and Cole left before Ruud came
Barca
My first experience watching giggs was the chanpions league game against real madrid on 2013.. he was 39 and yet still play better than some of the current players now. My generation only cares about asissts and goals
Absolutely a legend who is in any all time man utd 11.
Very true, he can't miss
Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs,
Running down the wing,
Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs,
Running down the wing,
Feared by the Blues,
Loved by the Reds,
Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs
Really was the age of Legends in the 90’s
🔥top commentary
Ryan Giggs, Soccer Skills, Channel 4... If you know, you know. Legendary career.
Consistency also stood out across his career
WOW he was electric in the 90s. I wish I would have been around / cognizant to watch it.
I'm glad, you enjoyed
He was so quick and had no weaknesses. And almost no decay in speed, stamina and technique until retirement.
Modern wingers may score more but they have half the intelligence of this legend. That's why they're retired at 30 while he played another decade at the highest level.
Very true, your analysis brings out the greatness in him
My earliest memory of Ryan was when i was probably 5 and my Auntie saying she fancies him. I have a ball signed still he signed with the rest of one of the mid 90's squads.
Wow, you so lucky
That Mark Hughes Ipswich game at Old Trafford was on my Birthday ❤
Wow, congratulations. Great memories there
@@magicfc1000 Thank you! Sure is!
Glad I watched most of those matches. Back in the day when footballers knew how to kick pass and cross. Nowadays, they can't even kick or cross proper.
I don't know what they do in the training
I like your joke that he would cost 850 mill :) . He was good bit even then there was better wingers
Mention some
this is the era where winger know when the time to dribble for himself and when to pass,,
era where winger are to be love or hate
love cause can take out defender or hate cause to many losing ball
but giggsy always love cause know when to do both at right time, he can score and he can assist
He was a complete playermaker
That pass at 4:00 if that was De Bruyne everyone would talk for ages about it, giggs always played passes like that.
Yes, it was his ordinary performance
That's what makes MU exciting in those days.
Giggsy would of played with Brazil, he was a phenomenon.
Very true, he with a genius
This best dribble i have ever seen. I was stupid enough not to recognize it while Giggs was playing.
Which particular one
