I hade my rubber thingy melt too but my connection wasnt as bad so if you’re broke you can try dusting the pieces off first and then keeping a finger on the rubber for to see if it still produces heat (i mean using a steel brush/steel wool)
If this is messed up you think it’s a cause of drain battery?
I definitely would not “hit that shit” directly on the alternator with a chisel and big ass hammer.
Not the best option but I like to give all options 😂

Mine broke off where do you get the connector. It's a Cooper one .
