I’m not a cobbler and I don’t expect I’ll ever work on a pair of shoes however, I find the work you do fascinating. Your craftsmanship is outstanding. If people get triggered by your videos, they should go watch a cake getting frosted.
I watched my wife frost our wedding cake and I assure you Steve has not said or done anything to compare with that. I've been a truck driver for 20 years and I heard words and phrases that evening I'd never heard before lol
While I’m watching this video, I get a telephone call from Steve about a pair of shoes I sent him.! We had a chuckle over that. Love the videos and the craftsmanship.
We all stand here today in memory of a great friend of Steve's. Ye Olde Burner kept Steve going for many a year, providing steaming hot coffee where no other burner could. He will be sorely missed for ever more. ⚰ RiP
If people find the prices too steep, well nobody forces you to have it repaired by Steve, but from what I see, he does more than he should do. If someone delivers quality that will take you much longer in order to repair again then it's worth it. If I had shoes that cost me 100 dollar and they would end up crap after a year then I wouldn't repair them. If they cost me 300+ and I wore them 4 years I would do it. My shoes end up dead after 2 years max, because I walk a lot and I walk fast so more wear and tear. I can appreciate someone talents and it takes years to become this good , it goes for any trade, people want great service and excellent job for zilch. If you want to be cheap, just diy.
This is more of a tribute than you know. You have done more difficult and substantial work, but these boots really show off who you are and your talent. Cudos to the patron who knew who would do these boots justice. These stand out and are ALL BECAUSE OF YOU. These are steam punk on classy steroids, and I'm 62 next month. Bravo
gotta say that is some beautiful leather, would've been a real shame if the customer had decided to stick em under the bed cuz those staples. now they're F1 Bedos!
If people don’t like your prices, the won’t give you custom. Simple as. It seems to me that you get plenty of people who are in need of your skills (which are incredible, by the way) and are happy to pay your prices. Try not to take it personal and thank you for sharing your work with us (from the UK). I always watch one of your vids before going to bed, they’re a great wind-down from the day and listening to you talk is very relaxing. Keep up the fantastic work & thank you 🙂
Another beautiful job Steveroo... Those A. E.'s are standing tall now...! When somebody can do the quality of work you can do, then they can charge what they want, but not many, if any, can...! Greg... IN
Steve - I enjoy watching your videos. You are a true professional in your craft. It is nice of you to discuss how much you charge for each job that you do. You shouldn’t be concerned with those who say you charge too much. This is a niche market and not everyone is going to look to get shoes repaired. In life, not everything revolves around money. I understand that many pieces have sentimental value to the owner and perhaps have been part of many happy memories. Please stay true to yourself - everyone has something to say. We all know that there isn’t 1 person that can please everyone. Looking forward to many more videos.
I love the personality you bring to these videos. Don't take the negativity personal - you know what they say "hater gonna hate". Your content really makes me wish there was more focus on trades and artisanal crafts in the 80's when I was growing up. College this, college that... I could have been a cobbler!
I have to admit I wondered how your poor finger got smashed and I thought, I bet that hurt bad. I was picking my brain to come up with what some viewer might have had a problem with, oh well it takes all kinds. Keep up the videoing you crack me up 😆 I love it. I needed the break from what’s going on here in the US. I’ve watched another cobbler out of the USA and nowhere the attention to detail you have. Your cork goes out to the edge so the wearer doesn’t feel that gape with their little toe, you cut for the toe plate before you stitch the leather sole on, you use a shoe tree to help smooth the badly wrinkled worn leather might have a reset, and before you adhere a rubber piece to the shoe you don’t tear up the leather sole underneath. All of your attention to detail sets you heels and toes above the rest and your price truly is equal to your quality work.
Please know the work you do makes your customers and the viewers very happy. Also, you should teach the trade if you don’t. I think you’d be an excellent teacher and mentor.
The craftsmanship and quality of the work is top notch. I like the look of the original welt and the dark color of the original sole and edge dressing. It gives the boot a more dressier look. On the other hand, the split welt and lighter edge dressing gives the boot a more every day casual look.
wish i could learn this kind of work to make it worth acquiring the tools and equipment. I've tried every cobbler/shoe repair place in the area, noone is hiring or could afford any help. So here I sit just conditioning and shining my allen edmonds thrift finds for sale on ebay, with an occasional scratch repair. Being able to re-welt some boots like these would be really awesome.
I've been going over some of your videos for some time now. The work quality speaks for itself. And I absolutely love the spirit. Please, let's trigger some more people :D
Love your work man - showed a friend of mine (who lives in the DC area) your videos a while back and he actually brought some shoes in for you to repair. Of course you did a phenomenal job!!! True craftsman - God Bless!!!
Beautiful job😍👍 Much better than the factory model‼️ Steve, keep these awesome video’s coming our way & don’t let the people that are jealous of your amazing skills bring you down, so many of us think you’re marvelous 😉👍🥾🤎🥾
Caramba!!!! My god!!! You make it look so easy that I was tempted to redo... "Bedo style" an old pair abandoned around... Thanks for your time to show those details... Big salute from Bolivia- South America
I appreciate your attention to detail. How many times have we seen you do extra work just to “do the right thing”. As for your prices, if people are willing to pay for great craftsmanship, you can charge for quality work. My mind goes back to the lady almost in tears with her “new” slippers. She had an obvious emotional attachment to the memory of what it meant to get them back like new.
Beautiful work as always. Remember it is the little things you do such as fixing the toe and cutting the angle on the mini lug that make you a true craftsman who is not only proud of his work but enjoys it and those are 2 things that are rare to find these days. You seem to always go the extra mile with the repairs you make and that is what people are paying for
WOW, not just a repair, but a VAST improvement over the original disposition! And that toe flaw...good save! Now only be seen if one is looking for it...way at the end of this guy's leg!
Magical as always. Allen Edmonds must hate selling shell cordovan at a discount due to a flaw in assembly. No matter, you fixed it and the boot is now better. Surprised the customer did not ask you to trim the edges off the vibram lugs as is so often done. Looking forward to your next project.
You should do some live streams sometime I’m sure people would love to see things getting done in real time and its like we’d be able to hang out with you in the shop while your working...
When you brought out the mini-lug and said you would be adding these to the boots, I thought, "ugh." Then I saw the new welt; the lugged sole fits perfectly!
My father and ancestors in Labrador (Canada) were fishermen. When measuring ropes and fishing line with arms fully extended like you did with your sewing twine, it is said to be one fathom (approximately). Old time fisherman common terminology. (NICE JOB ON THEM BOOTS AS USUAL!)
Not F2 anymore ! Great Job Steve this is probably my fifth time watching this over the last year and I rarely comment, but I figured since I’ve decided to watch it this many times I better comment
They were a stunning pair of boots and like always a stunning job being a boot and shoe lover I can appreciate the time and effort that goes into making and redesigning classy boots like those Allen Edmond
Great craftsmanship and pride in your work Steve. Charge whatever you can get since it requires a special skill and experience to get something to turn out that beautiful.
The work done here... my God I would pay $400 for that in a heartbeat. You sir, I would be honored to have you repair my White's when they need work. Great job.
Beautiful shoes and you are right, they have a great look to them. And the lug sole really makes them stand out. I think the split welt also makes them a really unique looking pair!
Awesome job as we all expect and enjoy watching. Personally, I like the split welt on those boots. Gives it a little something extra. If I’m ever in the area, it would be an honor to have a cup of coffee with you.
Well done Steve. Loved the repair job you just did. As for prices - man oh man - just inserted that for the benefit of the triggerfish hehehe. Prices are fair and set up between you and the customer. Nobody else. Just you two. Cracking job sir. Looking forward to the next one. Shine on
Beautiful job on a beautiful pair of boots, and you made them structurally better so they'll last much longer--not to mention that you did all this with F2 boots. I've read past comments saying that current Allen Edmonds shoes and boots aren't the quality they once were, but once they're in your hands, you make them top quality again.
While I was watching I was thinking the black welt was too striking and looked out of place assuming the sole would be black as well. But when you went with the dyed sole and the strata of all the different leather layers came out - it's a really striking shoe. Amazing artistry as always Steve!
IMHO the boots were a little plain before the resole, but they became something really beautiful afterwards. The slight contrast between the uppers and the heel and sole made them come to life! Very nice!
Really nice job on these boots. If you price your work to customers and they're ok with it, So be it. You sure do turnout a quality product in the end. Excellent work, in my opinion.
Sharp looking boots! So the unassuming "office" guy on Friday, wearing his stock Allen Edmunds, turns up on Monday wearing his quasi-Commando, door kicking, grenade tossing, jungle trotting, desert patrolling, mountain scaling, urban assaulting Allen Edmunds "Bedo Special Operations" version F2s, transforming him into The BadA$$ Office Alpha-Male. The cost of this work? PRICELESS. Was surprised sanding the toe didn't damage the leather. Good work.
I’m not a cobbler and I don’t expect I’ll ever work on a pair of shoes however, I find the work you do fascinating. Your craftsmanship is outstanding. If people get triggered by your videos, they should go watch a cake getting frosted.
Well said bro!

😂😂 well said!
How dare you!
I can Honestly say, You're a true Craftsman and Artist of our Time.
While I’m watching this video, I get a telephone call from Steve about a pair of shoes I sent him.! We had a chuckle over that. Love the videos and the craftsmanship.
Right?? That was perfect timing.🤣🤣
Let's all have a moment of silence for Steve's old burner.

You can buy them at Wal-Mart.

You deserve a high price because your work is high end. If someone has expensive shoes he will think of you first
Steve, I wish everyone had the pride of workmanship that you do.
If people find the prices too steep, well nobody forces you to have it repaired by Steve, but from what I see, he does more than he should do. I may be part of a small group that understands your pricing. Your passion is labor intensive with no room for mistakes. I enjoy watching your videos.

I’d pay the price! He clearly has passion in his work to bring loved items back to life. love the content! “Let’s continue”! ☺️

A master craftsman at work. These boots are beautiful and they just received a more durable makeover. I'd be over the moon if they were my boots. 👌👍
Nice look with the split welt. I'm currently working on a pair doing the exact same thing. Great job as always Steve
Hi Steve, don't let the trigger trolls trigger you. Superb craftsmanship as always. The boots came out great.
Another beautiful job Steveroo... Those A. E.'s are standing tall now...! When somebody can do the quality of work you can do, then they can charge what they want, but not many, if any, can...! Greg... IN

Makes you want to get on the website & buy a pair of “seconds” & ship them straight to Steve to do his magic!

I once paid $300 to have rotor rooter unclog a toilet and the guy was at the house less than thirty minutes. You have nothing to apologize for
Awesome. As always. Love your work. 9:23 mark, “ Yeah this is my thumb” showing the pinky.

It's enjoyable watching all types of repairs , from bedo , so skillful.

It's neat the customer knew what he wanted. I think customizing new shoes is cool. Made to measure.
Steve you are not a nobody, i for one love your work and your video's keep it up

Love the work and the shop. Keep Noah singing!
I think this is my favorite improvement you’ve ever made. I think those boots look much better with the chunkier soles.
Now that pair of F2 from Allen Edmonds are a F0 meaning a pair unique on it's class. Something that the owner could be very proud of showing.
Caramba!!!! My god!!! You make it look so easy that I was tempted to redo... "Bedo style" an old pair abandoned around... Thanks for your time to show those details... Big salute from Bolivia- South America
One of the nicest pair of boots I've ever seen. Great work.
Your not just a cobbler you're an artist, Great Job!
They look alot better now you have done your magic to them!
Love listening to you, your voice is so calming!
R.I.P old burner. The boots look amazing and yes A Edmonds should produce them that way Stunning!

Dan Tring shoe repair recommended your channel! Glad for that. This shoe repair was just awesome.

That would be fun! He would need some help because it would be hart to work and then see what everyone is saying with a small screen.
Coffee time livestream. Dude!
I picture you on a prairie in settler times, cobbling shoes and boiling coffee on a fire. 😄 Great job sir!
Lying in bed trying to sleep ... Now I want some coffee. Thanks Steve !!!!
I can’t get enough of your videos?!?!? Need to post more please lol

Loving the split welt. Nice color match..

very nice work. I like the way you tailored the lug sole onto the leather. These touches are what make you a great craftsman. Great video.
One of, if not THE best job you have done IMHO. Beautiful job
Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with us.
The work done here... my God I would pay $400 for that in a heartbeat. You sir, I would be honored to have you repair my White's when they need work. Great job.
Thanks for close-up of weld stitching. Now I know how it's done.
Worth Every Penny, and the boots look better than before, Great Job Steve 👏
13:34 ... Amazing fix on that toe! Such great close up camera work in your videos!
Beautiful work as always, Steve.
Great job! Liked that part with the coffee 😊
Wow! 10 pair of Florsheims. What a lot of work! Rest up Steve.
Great looking shoe. That's awesome how you worked around that factory defect.
I have no idea why i like watching these videos so much, but i do! Great shit steve!
Lovely job again Steve.
Keep it up and split welts will become so popular that factories will make them standard on their models.
Absolutely beautiful Steve! Another project finished better than from the factory.
That stitching machine is impressive it goes through leather and rubber combined.
Beautiful shoes and you are right, they have a great look to them. And the lug sole really makes them stand out. I think the split welt also makes them a really unique looking pair!
its art, you need to be talented to do things like this
Awesome job as we all expect and enjoy watching. Personally, I like the split welt on those boots. Gives it a little something extra. If I’m ever in the area, it would be an honor to have a cup of coffee with you.

Hi Steve another job well done Lets continue.
Your hands may shake, but you are as steady as a surgeon!

Thanks Steve. You're work is the best. the shoes are beautifully done
Shell, good coffee, new welt....I'm very happy to watch :-)
Another great video and result. Super stylish shoes, but also "winter friendly" in terms of ice traction. Great stuff!!
Sharp looking boots! Thanks for the black finger nail explanation.
