    I know the customer wanted something different and that's great. I also understand that Steve talked to the retailer and came to an arrangement. Steve did an amazing job, way better than the original! That said, Alden should not be getting away with this shoddy quality control!!!

    It's unbelievable that Alden has the nerve to put out an $800+ boot in that condition. A paper heel too! People need to start returning shoes that have QC issues like this. If people accept mediocre quality they will continue to get it. Steve, beautiful work as always.

    One of the things I miss very much about living in Falls Church, VA is having Betos Leather Works repair my shoes. Steve is awesome at his craft and even more so he’s an interesting and nice person who taught me a lot about how to keep my shoes lasting. You don’t find places like this in the burbs. Am glad he has his own TH-cam channel. Kudos Steve!

    Never am I bored! Lol. No matter if we seen it many times.......show us again..and again....I love watching you put the welts on! I love the machinery! I love it when the soles get sewn on! Lol Every step of the process! It's therapeutic.

    Hello Steve, very nice the white shirt looks so Kool and professional... keep it on.. it's a shame how a brand new pair of shoes 👞 can be so poorly finished... I love your work, I like watching a artist at work... I got a pair that needs your kind of craft, don't worry I being saving my penny's in order for you to hammer them down for me with new leather... been watching 👀 for some time now, have seen your best everytime keep it up...

    Steve: All your viewers wish you nothing but the best health and prosperity for you and your family. Not just during this holiday season. But all year round. You do not realize how much joy you give me (us) by sharing your craftsmanship. Giving joy is a rare gift. My deepest thanks.

    Steve, I get such a strong sense of deja vu when I watch you, you share so many skills and techniques with my farrier and the way he used to shoe my horse. The way you hold the shoe but keep your fingers out of the way as you tap in the nails, just as a farrier cups the hoof as he nails on the shoe. And fitting the French Tips, the way you offer them up to the shoe and check for fit on the outside edge with your thumb, it’s uncannily similar to the way a farrier assesses the fit of a shoe on the hoof. Right down to the way you unconsciously sweep a thumb across to check for smoothness after completing the nails. Really interesting! Love your work!

    I am a relative late comer to your channel... but I live in the same area as your shop, I've been here since 1977 ...I like the local retailers so you are a rare find indeed:). I plan to try to come by one day and say hello and get some work done on a pair of boots I had made :) Keep up the great work!

    I think we love hammer time because it just a catchy phrase (kinda of like "Let's continue"). It also goes into the work you put into everything you do: calling the manufacturer and talking about what needs to be done for the customer; not everyone does this. #nicerepair #hammertime

    • @edd2771
      @edd2771 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I remember the day hammer time was introduced. Not as big a fan of it as “let’s continue”, but my new favorite by far is “HEY MAN….”

    I loved the closeup shots of you sewing the welt. I never realized it but the jerk needle looks like a very pointy small crochet hook. I could have spent 30 minutes watching you sew the entire welt. It fascinates me. I would also love to learn more about how you do the stamping on the sole. Oh, and NO WAY you stop Hammer Time! 😊 It’s a Bedo’s tradition! (Great slo-mo shot) You love to joke with us and I love your sense of humor. You are a true artist, and a craftsman with excellent ethics. As always a beautiful end result. ❤️👍

    I find Bedos to be the most comprehensive and entertaining without the blah blah of others and no product advertising.
    Some of the restorations are so incredible that, normally, some of the items that he restores would otherwise have long been in landfill.
    Genius worker and super experienced with reversing disaster amateur bodges.
    You can tell he is a very proud business owner.

We especially like your taking the time during each project to explain what your doing to each shoe/boot/bag and why you do it. Clearly you take pride in doing what you do. Very nice job on re-crafting these boots!

I can't wait to go to my IN-LAWS with my BEDO'S REWORKED shoes covered in plastic and then rip it off when i get inside ON TO their IMPORTED INDIAN RUG,flown in from the maharajahs palace 50 years ago.GOING to the OPERA will no longer be an issue when checking in my overcoat and galoshes. Now i can just check my coat like everyone else {they all arrive in LIMO'S and i have to walk. That's why the galoshes.have a good thanksgiving .

    Another amazing job! On another unrelated note….when you said “y’all know what time it is nah” it sounded like Al Pacino in Carlito’s Way. 😂 Specifically when he was in court….”That’s right, sir, five years. And look at me. Completely rehabilitated, reinvigorated, reassimilated and finally going to be relocated, and I want to thank a lot of people for that.” Maybe it’s just me, that’s one of my FAVORITE movies ☺️
