I picked up both of his books the day before yesterday, as a beginner artist it overwhelms me but the knowledge there is applicable for most situations of any struggles with characters. Just to comprehend the knowledge in these books will take someone at least two years, one year for each book. I intend to study these books religiously.
I've had Loomis book for...many decades!...but never used this trick in life drawing...I would just sort of wing it, and we didnt have much time for faces...and I can do all right with model or scene before me and time, like hours and hours!...but I've never been good from just imagination...had a friend who could just like trace out what he imagined...this in grammar school...but this clip shows me how to turn a face really well...thanks!☺
Life drawing instructor wants students to see closely, a figures uniqueness, the fall of light, the perspective, the later being very hard to do...nothing quite like human skin and limbs to challenge one's skills...this to say, there's something to be said for not using these Loomis tools...watch sometime how Picasso looks a long time, then says, 'I have you,' and off he goes...but I like very much this instruction clip too...it takes a lot of practice...☺
@@jekesan4221 I can render, and with enough time, make like a photo...an acomplished artist can it seems, draw any scene, figure, off the top of their head...what an observor doesnt see is the storehouse of experience they "draw" from...with practice, study, I can get to that spontanaeity...but then there's that scene in movie Amadeus, where Mozart wows the King...I had a friend that could draw like Mozart could play music, that in grade school, 5th, 6th grade...to have a "knack" for something is a gift...and I'm adrift, not sure of the inference "skip to chapter 10"...☺
He has probably been drawing longer than you’ve been alive. Practice makes perfect! Just draw as much as you can as often as you can and you’ll be a master before you know it

Thank you so, so so much! Now it finally makes some sense. I tried to draw different angles by myself, but I couldn't figure out what I did wrong, now I know! Thank you so so much!
I just found this and it does help Good job Master Pereznieto the music and your calming voice is both calming me down as well as raising my Focus while drawing
I love your pleasant, encouraging tone of instruction. You explained and demoed this clearly and concisely; thank you! Would like to see vids on drawing the figure in perspective.
Same with me! But what I am still Not really sure about is where to put the middle line of the face, which divides the left and the right side,is it maybe the same distance like the oval is?

Thankyou for respecting Andrew Loomis. So many use his techniques and pass it off as their own. He taught the world to draw. Respect.

@@dsharpness Then the instructor must not be good, you can't just skip to Step 10 without teaching the basics first.
