Thanks for the double mooring tuition. I am off to London. (Great Linford near Milton Keynes at present). A little while ago I asked you about mooring in London and you mentioned double mooring is common. So seeing how you extricated your boat will be very helpful, thanks. David.
Interestingly, if I or any Australian were to discuss going grocery shopping, we would probably only say were going to the supermarket. Rarely would the particular brand come up, yet I have noticed on many British blogs that the brand is all important. A cultural difference.

We do try and be responsibly cat owners. We were just talking yesterday about supervision on the cut and keeping them safe and being fair. It's all a learning process.
Cats and canals; perfect video. I have no idea who you are meeting, but I hope that after his long stay at mooring, he can still remember how to operate a lock.
Kath should make some box mesh screens to secure over the doors and hatches so the pusscats could spend time safely looking out. The view of the dusk sky gainst the tree line is awesome. Do you produce a yearly calendar?
We loved cruising at dusk especially after a hot day. Most boaters were moored up it was nice and cool and the scwnary was stunning with the low sun. Next time were on holiday and its boiling hot we'll relax through the midday heat and cruise as late afternoon/teatime. X

Good morning ladies....woke to the alert of your video...got some coffee and came along for the ride... It was beautiful and relaxing....about that engine...preventive maintenance! !! Open the door...tighten bolts,lube cables, watch all videos and read blogs about that particular engine and what can and will go wrong....the more you do the better. I am a bit over the top because I saw so much working in the auto industry as an advisor before I retired...it has saved me time and time again. Also wanted to mention the door and slide on the back of the boat needs attention...water damage to the wooden panels...sand and vanish before it rots the wood...living on a boat is continuous upkeep. There is a saying in the states," the best days of boating is the day you buy it and the day you sell it, everything in between is work." But I sure miss the boat reguardless...keep up the good work and live life with little fear and lots of respect.
So glad you liked it. Yes, we must look at the hatch and the stern doors. Always jobs to do. I guess we should really pull over and stop cruising and do maintenance, but it is just so beautiful at the moment.

Evening is the best time of day to be cruising. When I was boating did many trips to Boston from Bardney Lock, or Southrey, or Chapel Hill. Also did a lot after dark. Coming back from Southrey when I was moored at Bardney one night it was almost magical. A still warm night, and the shadow of the moon on the water in front. Lovely video as usual :)
Lovely video , nice to see the dear , I've seen some people take barges up the humber or across the mersey , which seems dangerous to me , with them being flat , would you ever consider doing that ? Do you think you've got the nerve to ever do it ?

Great video. There is something I love about the sunset while you're boating that is so soothing even with the noisy engine, I can imagine it gets really cold at night, so how did you cope? Sorry your title said "Late night cruise" so I was expecting the shooting of the video would last till night time.
I couldn't work out which famous actress/model it was until the sunnies came off :) Obviously you're being helped out by Mooring the Cut :) He's always careful not to let anyone know his boat name....but I can now reveal....it's The Olympic Flame. Well, I think it is...it never goes out anyway! :)
Sorry David! I can't help myself! What I will say is that you have very entertainingly documented your transition from fear of rivers and tunnels to someone who is now very competent in moving about the country on the water with confidence. I'm sure there's been some judicious editing in that ;) But joking apart, you've done a great service for the boating community with entertaining and educational vlogs. Showing how, with some sensible research and planning, someone with little knowledge of boating, can buy a boat, move on board and survive very successfully. I just wish you hadn't gone to the dark side of Vans as it reduces your time to make top quality vlogs of your boating experiences!

Hi ladies!! Who edits your videos? Both or does one like to do it more? I just ask because this vlog had some wonderful edits and I thought it seemed like you had done a beautiful job. Kath has the curse of the engine sounds!! I do the same thing. The second I get into our car its all about listening to things and noticing if something has changed. On the one hand its really required when your whole existence relies on that engine to keep you going, but if there is a down side, you really never set it aside and relax. Please kiss the cat kids, you are both wonderful. Be safe and keep having fun!!
