honestly, I'd like to believe that, but even if Axil is to be canon, Axl was alive at least 300 years (prolly more), and 2 nearly world ending catastrophes before, I don't think Axl was famous enough to be know by then. Sure, like X and Zero, he is also a superprototype of a new generation of machines, but unlike those two, his generation was mostly discontinued, and even if didn't die, he did'nt participate in the whole Neo Arcadia debacle.
Since I haven't seen anyone mention this. According to an interview (search Making of Rockman ZX Part 5), the reason Model A is simply based on Axl's design and not related to him storywise is because they didn't want to add any new development to Axl that could impact his involvement in a future X entry, since he was still a fairly new character with a lot of mystery, and had a cliffhanger ending in X8.
@NovaZoneTV MegaMan was still huge when ZXA was made, the franchise was just incredibly bloated, and this ulitmately led to its demise. It was a great time...
Since its 99% unlikely we will ever get a sequel to ZXA, I'm personally just gonna put that secret ending into the "non-canon" bin for the sake of my sanity since at least the normal ending wraps up everything left over after Weil's death fairly well. XD
@MC Flurry I mean I don't really see the similarity between the two, plus albert is kind of dead after ZXA. Maybe ZX3 would have been the events that lead to the world flooding, but I have a feeling there's still like centuries to go before carbons became the new species.
@MC Flurry One thing there, the Master never wanted to destroy the Carbons, that was the system's decision if their numbers grew too high, the Master was weary of his immortal life as the last human and created the carbons to in a sense regain his humanity, and was more than happy to tear down the system so they could inherit the planet. The rest feel I would say are more generic megaman tropes. Angelic forms are nothing new, both Lumine and Copy X had forms like that too. Albert's dying words came off as typical "you stopped me from changing the world" that most megaman villain's do when dying. As for Ashe, at most might be a nod to diggers but still way to early for anything to really lead into legends beyond the obviously timeline placement of both spinoffs.
most of the time, when i see people complaining about zxa, its because they cant rush the entire game using a single boss form. which, like you pointed out, kinda miss the mark on why those forms exist in the first place.
I'm glad that I got into an extreme Castlevania kick after finishing the ZX1 video. It helped me with looking at ZXA in comparison to those games a bit more. Might do a Castlevania video later in the year but I wanna finish going through them so I can pick which one I'd wanna do.
@@NovaZoneTV i think the only igavania i think is a chore to play is harmony, the others, circle included, have so much fun mechanics that are far more fun to play. you could start at grandaddy symphony and go from there. as a side note, the most underrated igavania is curse of darkness. 3d jank, but ALOT of fun.
@@marcosdheleno I got 200.6% in Symphony between the two ZX videos. I love it immensely. Hadn't played it in years. I tried Harmony, got about 110% map and decided I was done. Loving Aria right now. I'm skipping Circle for the moment since I'm just going through the ones Igarashi did, but I might come back later on if I'm not burnt out by the end.
@@NovaZoneTV aria is amazing, even compared with its sequel, dawn of sorrow, and the other 2 ds games, it can stand on its own as one of the best igavanias. that's not to say order and portrait are bad, they are amazing in their own ways, even dawn is a good game that is dragged down by a MASSIVE design flaw. but no need to spoil.
This was really refreshing to watch. Hands down the most level-headed and competent review of the game I've seen, sorely needed in the sea of misinformation and bad-faith criticism. Kudos.
Thanks, I always try to keep things fair between my own opinion and more informative bits. What also helped was that I got on a bit of a Metroidvania kick after the ZX1 video and completed all of Symphony of the Night between the 2 videos. Which I think gave me a better understanding than if I went in solely with a Mega Man mindset.
@@NovaZoneTV I think you'd have a more enjoyable time with ZX in a future playthrough. It can be a bit opaque at times, especially if you're new to it, and I'll never defend the menu map - that thing shows you how the world is laid out, but is worthless for navigation - but once you're a bit more familiar with the world and routes, the game flows like any other Mega Man, and is playable in a hundred different ways depending on the order you get your new abilities in.
10:09 Wait a minute, i.. i saw that Brazillian meme, don't try to fool me :v Fun fact, i was there when it happened. For that reference and for talking about the game that made me a Megaman fan, i give you my gratitude ^-^
Hey! This is one of the best reviews I've seen on ZX Advent in a while! Your criticisms were fair and balanced with less nitpicky, you were mature and concise with your points, you acknowledge your flaws in your mistakes like a Chad, and you got the story right without messing anything up! Glad I waited for you to post this! Best review on ZX Advent to date! 😁
ZX:A is the only game I've ever imported from Japan. It's my favorite Mega Man game period, I played through the entire thing 4+ times despite having no understanding of any of the dialogue and only getting the story explanations from questionable translations from the internet (until it released in America of course), and I can't tell you how many nights I went to "sleep" just to play through the boss rush over and over and over in as many self imposed challenges as I could pull off. TL:DR: ZX3 wen?
As one of small circle of fans of Megaman ZX/A I still say that YES, on DS touchscreen option for changing forms was so convenient, during my game, it was the main screen with map being called only when I really needed it. Being able to change form by single press on the screen was such a good design choice, I cannot praise it enough and the fact that there is no support for this function on ports (especially on touchscreen equipped devices such as Switch and Steamdeck) feels like a crime.
For the soul thing, I think it's not supposed to be literal, she did make Copy X after all, so the way I see it is that the metals are just reminiscent of the originals
Hey there it’s been a while. Just figured I’d share some details you may or may not have known. Grey sharing personality traits and mannerisms in common with Megaman X goes beyond a surface level. Grey actually has the same voice actor that Megaman X had in X7. Also there are audio dramas that detail Prometheus and Pandora getting kidnapped by Master Albert and having their bodies permanently fused with fragments of Model W as part of an experiment of his. There was also an occasion where the two siblings attempted to escape if I’m not mistaken in said audio drama but I could be wrong. Also Inti Creates revealed in an interview somewhere that they had planned for the final (or 3rd game at least) to get called Megaman ZXC I believe. I don’t know all of the details of said interview as I have lost track of it since. And it can be inferred that Master Thomas is responsible for the creation of what would eventually become the Carbon Units found in the Megaman Legends series based off his dialogue and stated goals in the secret ending.
on a music note the game over theme from zx is remixed and used the serpents tower in the same game. and zx advent boss theme slam down is slaps so damn hard it alone beats zx and zero tracks imos
6:44 I really like how Ash and model A talk to each other, depending on the situations within the game. I feel like they do get along. They even have the same similar personalities
Same here, ZX was like Z1 as a good concept but flawed in execution. ZXA isn't perfect either but it fixes some of the flaws with ZX's game design (and Model A got a much better introduction than Axl did in X7). Considering Z1 was good but quite flawed, Z2 mostly fixed the issues with Z3 fully fixing them and realizing the series full potential, it really is a shame ZXA didn't get a sequel for Inti to likely perfect the new formula too.
There is a ZXA Undub patch, that removes spoken dialogue and limits the voice acting to sound effects, like the Zero and ZX games. For those clips, it uses the Japanese versions. I was surprised how much it made me like the game more. I'd highly recommend it.
I was about to comment on the souls thing on the other video, but I just found this channel and the content is so freaking good I had to watch all of it
Shout out to Priest Marcelo Rossi from Brazil being yeeted from the stage 10:09. Also, ZXA is a 10/10 for the effort, but the A-trans was just a annoying gimmick. The map is a massive improvement, but the stages are bland in comparison with ZX. Its a good game, but I dont wanna repay ZXA never again... in other hand, ZX is very fun to replay.
Finally! Someone gets it! Thank you *_so_* much!! I guess that needs some explanation.... See, I remember seeing another review of these games a while back, and the thing that most annoyed me about their review of ZXA was their treatment of the A-Trans system/forms. Like you mentioned, they are in no way supposed to be equivalent to the other 'Mega Men' forms, but as tools that aid in exploration, item collection, and puzzle solving. Each of them has their own "thing" and abilities that help in specific scenarios, and that's what they're meant for. Yeah, switching _can_ get rather annoying, especially as the number of possible forms increases, but even that "useless" one that can't even move outside of water and gets 'replaced' by Model L still has his time-freeze mechanic that's used in a couple puzzles. Honestly, even as someone who got into this 'series' of games with Zero 2, I really liked both ZX games. Granted, for as much as I liked 1, I generally replay 2 more just because of all those 'quality of life' improvements you highlighted in this video. I probably "like" them to about the same level, but it really is just much easier to play ZXA. Although, I did notice you didn't mention anything about Model O in the ZX review. Did you never find/use it? Or was that just 'kinda filler Easter egg' territory, and didn't make the cut? I always liked that one, because running around as "Original Zero/Omega" was just so cool and fun, in my own opinion.
I love Advent way more than the original for a lot of the reasons you mentioned. The map alone is infinitely better for finding things, teleporting around, etc. ZX 1 felt like such a grind to get through, even during my first playthrough. It was akin to playing one of the Megaman X titles and having to do all the stages multiple times just to walk through them to get to the stage you actually wanted to do. I HATED it. I also enjoyed the voice acting and character differences. And even though it is sort of gimmicky, I also really enjoyed being able to turn into reploid bosses. I found that to be very fun and charming and they really are just like the bosses instead of say watered down versions. I thoroughly enjoyed it, even if they are only really "useful" in very specific circumstances they were designed to be useful in. You could still play through a stage as one if you really wanted to just for funsies. The game even has a built in "easy mode" in the form of the water reploid that slows time. It can trivialize literally any boss encounter if you use it, so if you are having a hard time, you always have a way to get past it. Literally the only complaints I have about the game is 1) the fact that my dumbass character drops whatever transformation is up every 15 seconds because they want to have a conversation.. That is INTENSELY annoying and 2) the "tutorials" that never end that you have to skip through every time you discover a power.
I've been told by multiple people I did that... I honestly hadn't seen his review until after I published the video. I skipped it so I wouldn't have spoilers. I can kinda see why people thought that though.
I was actually gonna start recording gameplay for these 2 games ive played and beat zx but not zxa so im really excited to start and always banger video my guy
Tip: You can transform in Advent using the X button, same as in ZX1. Tbh, I'm replaying Advent right now and almost never use the touchscreen for transformation.
I just wish you could still get the Omega metal in Advent. That’s the one thing that keeps me going back to ZX. Do love having a cool reploid tentacle character, though. I gotta say, though, I’ve always liked the idea that this bridges the gap between the X/Z era and the Legends era. There are some great videos and write ups out there, but essentially Albert’s plan succeeds, resulting in a future where everyone has become a fusion of human and reploid as a new evolution. There’s a surprising amount of evidence for it in the Legends games.
2:05 hell, grey even shares a voice actor with X. Sure it’s the same VA as X7 X but it’s still a semi similarity all same(even if this was after X8 and maverick hunter X)
ZXA my first ZX game and my all time favorite out of the ZX series. Both this and ZX really give off shonen anime vibes. Really wish we got proper voice acting for these games.
one time i read a comment on how the "resetting the world" part from the secret ending could have lead into the flood from Mega Man Legends which is pretty neat
im honestly upset that i hear next to nothing about these two games for the ds, they are AMAZING! and as much as i love zx, i cannot deny zx advent is my favorite megaman game of all time, ive been a sucker for the idea that the past heroes have become biometals with the essence of the legendary reploids and the guardians, and the main characters are continuing their heritage on protecting the world from the mavericks with the legendary reploid's powers, its honestly an amazing game and i cannot stress it enough
Advent is my favorite between the two, it's also one of my favorite megaman games of all time, my only "problem" with it is the fact we can't play as model x
The first Megaman game I extensivly played as a kid after learning of the series online (besides some of Megaman 1 or 2 at a museum), too bad I never beaten more than 2 of the "robots masters" of that game (The Anubis one and the Turtle one) or the game (didn't understood a maze section) as it was a copy belonging to the daycare section of my school. I did at least completed the story of 1 Megaman game as a kid; Starforce 1 (Dragon Version more specifically). Ashe is so dope.
demn. this brings back memories. I can't afford any consoles back then (even now), I played this on emulator. It feels weird that I wanted to play this yet somehow I lost interest in the middle. Then replay the cycle. The very first dialogue already stuck to me, "Well, how's that lock coming?"
The one requiring the touch screen to use Model Px's kunai fucking sucked on the new collection. You need to use the right stick to move a digital mouse. Totally doable, but a damn pain.
I've always preferred this game over zx it was a lot easier to get into as well as in my opinion a lot more fun to play and no matter how many times I replay this game I always play as grey
Albert chose the megaman is unclear Aile's route implies serpent being a maverick Survivor was the reason he became evil I think it's more like Albert tainted the megaman
Allright you know what at first i also thinks that all the biometal is not the heroes from megaman zero, that's until i finished zx advent and see biometal z sacrifice himself just like what zero did.
its frustrating that somehow they made the Legends cliffhanger more cliffhanger-y by giving ZX Advent a cliffhanger ending. Legends being the literal last spot in the timeline, any cliffhanger they make for any game in the timeline previous is just another kick in the nuts especially if it teases how Legends' world came to be.
I choose to believe that Model A is Axl tbh. The only reason he wasn't confirmed to be him is because Axl's fate in the X series is still unknown. But I could definitely see Axl and his copy chip having been the basis for the Eight Gentle judges and their transformations. And later on the inspiration for Albert to create his own "A-trans".
You know its funny how model a aka axl who was actually from megman x7 yes bial model a is actually is axl and model x is x and model z is zero but axl is actually pretty much my favorite megman x character as well the combined with x that he likes to talk so much 😂
I may make a Megaman ZXA Successor thats basically either a Boy or a Girl, both born without one arm, gets a Alien Hand Permantly fused to them, making them a alien.
For me, Harmony of Dissonance does everything else a LOT better than Circle of the Moon. But I really don't like the castle A&B mechanic. And since that's one of the key parts of the Metroidvanias, it puts them pretty neck and neck for me.
".. so depending on if Vent or Aile's mom had a boy or a girl, she just made two parallel universes." Ah, yes. Shrödinger's womb. Joking aside, after 10 hours in ZX, I'm watching this to decide whether or not to waste my time on ZX Advent.
I enjoyed the game and I liked how you could use the biometals for exploration but I found it very disappointing that unlike the first entry in the series most of these biometals were completely useless in combat outside of bos encounters, to the point where you were better off fighting most bosses with model A or zx even if they were weak to a forms element. Honestly I just really wish that they hadn't removed overdrive.
People complain about the map design of ZX being bad, but the map design wasn’t the problem at all. The problem is that the game didn’t give you the right tools to navigate it, so there was too much stumbling around.
What was the hypothetical ZX3 game? Well, according to a stream by the developers, it was tentatively called ZXC. Some believe it meant ZX Cradle. But when it came names, the C likely stands for a character that starts with the letter C. And that the one comes up is Ciel, mainly because we don't really know what happened to her yet have many references to her, being the creator of the biometals, and it's heavily implied that she just disappeared a few years ago. Despite the fact she's supposed to be human. Ciel would over 200 years old at the very least, which would imply that she converted her body into a Reploid one. Which simply begs the question. Where is Ciel and just how involved is she in the government system of the ZX world?
If we go by zx one seems ciel is Alive Prometheus Even notes You aren't from this time either when talking to Prairie The problem with the decision to make different mcs for each Game is that the plotline can end up being disjoimtef
I prefer ZX honestly. I liked having more complete forms than having more forms that barely gets used, they feel like more keys for locks then actual playstyles. Omega form was a lot cooler than the classic a form. I don't get why speaking makes you transform into model A, and entering a boss room. It just made me play as A for everything. I don't get it, the other reploid forms have speaking animations, they could've let you stay as them. The only characters that stood out to me were Siarnaq and Ashe. Everyone else just felt forgettable.
Here's the stuff I do like: The medal system actually encourages the use of forms The side quests are pretty charming. The little hub you build and pick what decorations/colors, and the one where you get asked to pick flowers then find out the mother is dead at the end. Just for the father to stop being mute, and the amount of flowers you picked appearing around the grave after. The only tedious one is the 'kill the rats around the whole map' which I skipped both playthroughs. But compared to zx's 'run from the exit to the first level of an annoying missle and enemy spam level to find an item that can spawn in the first crate or the last crate, oh and by the way do it 5 more times.' And the one you can just make unobtainable by shutting off the factory, how are you supposed to even know that one crusher will be important later, you only get access to that quest way after the Initial run through. If they just didn't grant access to the generator room or inform you about how the crusher could be useful later it wouldn't be an issue. The monthly gifts are just silly, and can be pretty helpful if you're struggling on expert. I don't think a feature like this has ever been done in a megaman game prior.
Nova: God i'll never be Friends with myself Me: Heheh the worst enemie is yourself they say i wouldn't trust myself with a Newyear resolution Cus knowing my OtherOther selves one of them will fucked up and i'm one of Many of my Splinters
Until then if ZX3 ever comes out I'm just going to look at the secret ending is not canon in my own eyes and secret ending is only if they ever were going to make it so consider to me master Thomas is actually a good guy remember this is just my personal opinion and how I would look at it into ZX3 is if ever released the secret ending is Canon but like I said it's just how I'm looking at it until
Ah, Mega Man ZX Advent. Honestly, I love this game more than ZX. Though I miss playing as Model X and Model O (Omega) and wish they were in Advent, I don't mind. The stages, the music, the side-quests, and the maps are overall better in my eyes. And I love the characters. I do wish both Grey and Ashe existed together. Perhaps in another timeline like the non-canon manga? Never occurred to me that Model A talked more than the others. I'm still holding on that Model A truly holds the DNA Soul of Axl like how Model X and Model Z are X and Zero respectively. Even the A-Trans (Or Trans-on in JP) is clearly taken from his ability from X7, X8, and CM. I wish there was a side game series about Axl and explain where he was before or during the Cyber Elf Wars and how it ended up as Model A. I refuse to believe that Model A is just an upside-down Model W with Albert making it and with the ability to transform into other Reploids. I like to think he turned Axl into Model A and rewritten everything about him in his sick twisted desires and in his mind believing this now "superior" version of Axl is all because of him and thus renamed to "Model Albert". Why design Model A with that look and dual guns? And the transforming ability? Fake out or not, there's got to be more to the story. Look like what he did to Prometheus and Pandora. I'm pretty sure he would've done the same to Axl. I'm on the fence with the Boss Transformations. I like them, and love that they're used as tools to open up new areas and such, but I DO wish you could play them normally like the other Mega Man forms and play an entire stage with them for fun replayability. And not make some of them super large and useless in some areas? That's just me. For the most part they're alright. Funny enough about Vent and Aile, haven't watched your ZX video, but apparently they BOTH exist so it's not sure if they're twins or two people who just look like genderbent versions of themselves. I wish we got the third and final ZX game in the series, would've been called ZXC from what I hear, and concluded this age that leads to the Legends series.
Until they give me more insight in the fate of Ciel I will never be satisfied with the ZX saga and it still screws with my mind why is there a Ciel portrait in the boss rush of ZXA Ouroboros glass panels but no other mention of her. I feel like she should be a pretty strong player in the plot but refuse to be acknowledged in any way shape or form
I think both are major downgrades compared to the zero series because the lack of combos, ZX still has some, but ZXA doesn’t have any iirc. imo the reason why i don’t like the transformation gimmick is because, 1, each form has less tools to work with and model H and ZX are always the best choice, 2, it kills the traversal pace and the stage gimmick from the forms just doesn’t do it for me, it’s slow.
See, I didn't mind the loss of combos because I could tell the ZX series wanted to be more like X and classic. An alternate path of gameplay evolution. Also because unless you're a giant nerd that looked that shit up, combos may as well not exist in Zero. You like Zero's appeal, others can like ZX for its own appeal. Although I'd prefer it if you could hotswap biometals.
@@jouheikisaragi6075 I don't think it would be possible since the other biometals are with their chosen one's now, unless you get the opportunity to get them back and Double MegaMerge like always, I always loved the A-Trans, less riding on X and Zero's coattails and more about exploring different ways to fight.
@@rogue1248 when I said hotswap I mean instant changing, not needing to freeze time to do it. To smoothen the experience. You could sorta do it in Advent on the DS but LC makes it much clunkier
Sort of? Capcom's purposefully made it vaguer over the years in marketing, and that's probably because they never gave a straight answer in the first place. Closest I ever found from an official Capcom thing was "Over 200 years" which I used to think just meant 25XX from what ZX1 gives, but the language used by Prometheus implies to me that it could be more.
@@alpersoylu00 That's the very earliest it ever could've been, but only with the use of time scales that conflict with each other. Right now, the only thing Capcom wants us knowing is that Zero is far enough where people still vaguely remember X and Zero, while ZX is far enough forward where only a handful of people remember Zero. There's no way I can see it being after 3000, but ZX is minimum 25XX.
ZX Advent is a “One step forward, three steps back” kind of game for me. It fixes the obtuse progression and bad map from ZX, but it makes the point of an interconnected world entirely moot by treating the areas like separated stages. It has a more forgiving set of stages without the life system issues of ZX, but the level design is made of either straight lines (Arctic Ice Floe, Oil Field, Legion HQ, Highway, the Bio Lab and Mysterious Lab) or labyrinths (the Scrapyard, Waterfall Ruins) and they mostly lack challenge, except when they’re really cheap like the Floating Ruins. It removes the weak point system but it has a way worse set of bosses. There are more playable transformations, but they’re mostly gimmicks used to traverse pace-breaking sections of stages built specifically for them (Rospark especially). The old transformations are all worse, lacking Overdrive and having their movesets split between Ashe and Grey (Poor Model P). And the game transforms you back to Model A for every cutscene, breaking the flow of gameplay even if you skip them. For these reasons I think that ZX Advent serves for a way better first time experience than it’s predecessor, but I think that ZX has more substance and more to return to in future playthroughs despite its rough edges.
Pretty much everything people complain as steps back with ZXA feel more like side steps to me. The boss weak points wasn't really my thing, but replaying them with stipulations for medals caught my fancy. Transformations used for secrets like items in an Igavania was more appealing than just the few forms in ZX1. I'd say they did well with leaning heavier to Mega Man than Metroidvania, because I personally found the backtracking and side quests unbearable in ZX1. I even like the quests in Portrait of Ruin and ZXA, so I'm not against a quest system. Stage design and the overdrive stuff is something I won't defend. ZXA felt more consistent, but it did have the junkyard which might be one of the worst stages in a good Mega Man game. The move splitting and overdrive was a poor choice. I didn't use overdrive in my ZX video often, but now that I've watched more speedruns I see why it's important to people. Either way, the two are super different from each other. It's no wonder that so many people only like 1 or the other. I just had more fun and less frustration with ZXA.
@@NovaZoneTV I mean, I don't like the weak point system either. Still, I meant to say that despite leaning more to the Mega Man side of things, ZX Advent doesn't do the Mega Man part as good as ZX to me. The stages, bosses and transformations are all arguably worse by a wide margin. Most of the improvements are related to traversal and backtracking, but it's something that matters little after the first playthrough in my eyes. Neither game captures the joy of exploration or the sense of atmosphere of the best Metroids or even Igavanias. I do like the writing of the NPCs; it was a good aspect in the Zero games, and it's even more enjoyable now that the world is larger. Still, I think that the ZX games games would have worked better as traditional Mega Man games. I do get why you didn't enjoy ZX much, though. It's one of those gamees that gets better the more you learn to avoid its beginner's traps and its clunky systems.
That's fair. The ZX games are probably the "most arguable" of the 2D platformer Mega Man games. As in, pretty much everyone agrees X6 and X7 are bottom for the X series, while Z2 and Z3 are the best for the Zero games. I've never seen a consensus for ZX, but I see a majority prefer ZX1. Although, very few arguments I hear comparing the two are invalid. It's just that personal preference seems to guide conclusions. I'd honestly like to see Inti Creates try a Metroidvania again without the Mega Man constraints. I can't tell if their new Gal*Gun spinoff is a classic style Castlevania or an Igavania, but it looks like a classic one.
Model A is AXL. Model X was Mega Man X. Model Z was Zero. Not sure why they keep trying to rewrite the logical. There will probably never be a sequel to Advent. We don't even know if we'll get Mega Man 12 or Mega Man X9... I like ZX's music and the copy abilities more than Advent's A -trans. It does seem to be a more streamlined game than its predecessor, but Advent has so many annoying dialogue breaks it's a bit awkward to play it.
When it came to Model A, by the time X8 came out, ZX Advent was already done so the dev team didn't know about Axl's fate. So it was more if a 'use the design, not the character' thing.
You're mixing some releases up. X8 came out the same year as Zero 3. ZX1 wasn't even an idea yet by the time X8 came out. It could be that Capcom said Inti Creates couldn't write any finale for Axl, but it's definitely clear that the "bait and switch" was their reason for using the design. Players will assume it's "Model Axl" only for that twist to get them.
Also if the Psuedoroid forms are merely tools for hyperspecific roadblocks why even bother giving them unique forms? Just augment the existing models from the first game and ditch A-Trans. It'd need to be an entirely different narrative but hey who cares the ZX games have garbage story anyway
I like to think that Albert was designing Model to to be based off Axl, before he went off into the deep end and named it after himself.
That or it’s Axl but Albert forced his presence on the biometal and took the power of A-trans for his own use before shoving Model A into a box.
I like to think he used Axl’s DNA soul to create it
Except really no one cares about Axl.
My headcanon is that Albert made the Model A after himself but the rebellious essence of Axl just manifested itself anyway.
honestly, I'd like to believe that, but even if Axil is to be canon, Axl was alive at least 300 years (prolly more), and 2 nearly world ending catastrophes before, I don't think Axl was famous enough to be know by then.
Haha, who would ever make life decision in hopes of a new Mega Man X game? Couldn't be me.
XD

@Furry Re:Viewz I'm just gonna leave my 2 cents and say Albert's portrait when you first meet him in ZXA looks A LOT like Mega Man Juno from Legends 1
Between this and Legends, I say Thomas successfuly reset the world, by flooding it.

most of the time, when i see people complaining about zxa, its because they cant rush the entire game using a single boss form. which, like you pointed out, kinda miss the mark on why those forms exist in the first place.
Yeah the boss forms exist to be situational gimmicks
The main problem on people not liking advent is the nerf in combat, it's just more grounded and not broken like the overdrive combos in zx1
You can say "after J's review", it's okay, we understand
You could’ve just said J’s Reviews tbh
Seeing my one of my favorite Mega Man games ever finally get the praise it deserves is indescribably cathartic. Thank you kindly.
10:09 Wait a minute, i.. i saw that Brazillian meme, don't try to fool me :v Fun fact, i was there when it happened. For that reference and for talking about the game that made me a Megaman fan, i give you my gratitude ^-^
OMG! You witnessed history. Thanks for the support 🙏!
ZX Advent freaked me out as a kid. I was creeped out by the intro scenes, and ZX's ability to absorb their foes.
This was my favorite MegaMan game as a kid. I need to revisit it
Sadly we could not get Aile meeting Ashe.......... two greatest megaman booties T_T
They couldn't exist in the same parallel universe
Get out
Interesting that model A talks more. That's kinda like Axl seeing as he's from the game with the most active dialogue
Thanks for making this video, I was originally very negative on ZXA, but this video makes me curious to replay it.
And it can be inferred that Master Thomas is responsible for the creation of what would eventually become the Carbon Units found in the Megaman Legends series based off his dialogue and stated goals in the secret ending.
no but ZXA letting us take out multiple side quests instead of just 1 per mission was a GODSEND.
Finally, another enlightened zx advent > zx man of culture
on a music note the game over theme from zx is remixed and used the serpents tower in the same game. and zx advent boss theme slam down is slaps so damn hard it alone beats zx and zero tracks imos
6:44 I really like how Ash and model A talk to each other, depending on the situations within the game. I feel like they do get along.
They even have the same similar personalities
With the huge gap and leap in human/reploid similarities I think Thomas got what he wanted for a while in the Megaman Legends timeline
Great review. I prefer ZXA to ZX as well. its great.
@@zeroattentiongaming820 ya that is very unfortunate. What would've been. Im not gonna give up hope though :)

Guys i think this video will make ZX Advent more liked 🤩
That is INTENSELY annoying and 2) the "tutorials" that never end that you have to skip through every time you discover a power.
it really sucks that im just now finding this channel. definitely deserves more subs
Fun fact Ashe has a better version of the story Disney finally gave Rey for the sequel trilogy. But unlike Rey it wasn't an afterthought.
Still grey is cooler
Took me half a second to see all the shade in the comments thrown at the J's Reviews ZXA vid :(
I've been told by multiple people I did that... I honestly hadn't seen his review until after I published the video. I skipped it so I wouldn't have spoilers. I can kinda see why people thought that though.
I also believe in tomboy supremacy

Aye! It’s already done?? Based dude! Gonna take the time to watch it in a bit!
Been on that grind this week😤!
(Not really last week though. Spent half that playing Castlevania😅)
Actually, the higher quality makes sense since they would need to compress the raw audio and reformat it to fit on a DS cartridge.
Wonder why they never made a third ZX :(
one time i read a comment on how the "resetting the world" part from the secret ending could have lead into the flood from Mega Man Legends which is pretty neat
im honestly upset that i hear next to nothing about these two games for the ds, they are AMAZING! and as much as i love zx, i cannot deny zx advent is my favorite megaman game of all time, ive been a sucker for the idea that the past heroes have become biometals with the essence of the legendary reploids and the guardians, and the main characters are continuing their heritage on protecting the world from the mavericks with the legendary reploid's powers, its honestly an amazing game and i cannot stress it enough
Advent is my favorite between the two, it's also one of my favorite megaman games of all time, my only "problem" with it is the fact we can't play as model x
I think the sole feature that elevates ZXA over ZX for me is that the energy bar slowly recharges on its own.
Albert…Ouroboros.. creating the ultimate mega man….are we sure this isn’t megaman’s universe of Wesker
I remember getting all of the boss medals on the ds it took so long to get
The one requiring the touch screen to use Model Px's kunai fucking sucked on the new collection. You need to use the right stick to move a digital mouse. Totally doable, but a damn pain.
Wait you did that medal with a controller modern even I haven't managed to that
@@bread64 Yes: But I sat in the top corner for a while and chipped at his health very very very slowly.
5:36 jesus that's actually dark.
zx: yeah no maybe they exist at the same time, maybe is another time line
zxa: oh no the other is fucking dead.
Model A IS axel, it just contains the sealed memories of Albert, which is why it's referred to by Albert.
Source.
The Albert Wesker joke caught me off guard so bad lmfao, I couldn't stop laughing.
I've always preferred this game over zx it was a lot easier to get into as well as in my opinion a lot more fun to play and no matter how many times I replay this game I always play as grey
2:22 are we just gonna ignore what model A is thinking of?
Albert chose the megaman is unclear
Aile's route implies serpent being a maverick Survivor was the reason he became evil
I think it's more like Albert tainted the megaman
Allright you know what at first i also thinks that all the biometal is not the heroes from megaman zero, that's until i finished zx advent and see biometal z sacrifice himself just like what zero did.
its frustrating that somehow they made the Legends cliffhanger more cliffhanger-y by giving ZX Advent a cliffhanger ending. Legends being the literal last spot in the timeline, any cliffhanger they make for any game in the timeline previous is just another kick in the nuts especially if it teases how Legends' world came to be.
Considering I didn't have to constantly alt tab out to check a map I liked it more.
0:43 mega cherry is diabolical 💀
I love this Video and Mega Man ZX Advent
Same boat. I also like Advent more than ZX (if only slightly) and apparently my opinion is quite an unpopular one.
I choose to believe that Model A is Axl tbh. The only reason he wasn't confirmed to be him is because Axl's fate in the X series is still unknown.
But I could definitely see Axl and his copy chip having been the basis for the Eight Gentle judges and their transformations. And later on the inspiration for Albert to create his own "A-trans".
my favorite mega man game
You know its funny how model a aka axl who was actually from megman x7 yes bial model a is actually is axl and model x is x and model z is zero but axl is actually pretty much my favorite megman x character as well the combined with x that he likes to talk so much 😂
Man i sure could use a nice, cold *DIP*
I may make a Megaman ZXA Successor thats basically either a Boy or a Girl, both born without one arm, gets a Alien Hand Permantly fused to them, making them a alien.
Harmony of Dissonance > Circle of the Moon you can't change my mind
For me, Harmony of Dissonance does everything else a LOT better than Circle of the Moon. But I really don't like the castle A&B mechanic. And since that's one of the key parts of the Metroidvanias, it puts them pretty neck and neck for me.
".. so depending on if Vent or Aile's mom had a boy or a girl, she just made two parallel universes."
Ah, yes. Shrödinger's womb.
Joking aside, after 10 hours in ZX, I'm watching this to decide whether or not to waste my time on ZX Advent.
If your big problem with ZX1 was "wasted time" in relation to the backtracking and poor side quest system, ZXA fixes that. Which is why I liked it.
If Grey is X then Ashe is Axl
Uh bro I think you got it backwards. Vent has the anti-air slash. Aile has the ground stab.
If we go by zx one seems ciel is Alive
Prometheus Even notes You aren't from this time either when talking to Prairie
The problem with the decision to make different mcs for each Game is that the plotline can end up being disjoimtef
Here's the stuff I do like:
The medal system actually encourages the use of forms
The side quests are pretty charming.
But compared to zx's 'run from the exit to the first level of an annoying missle and enemy spam level to find an item that can spawn in the first crate or the last crate, oh and by the way do it 5 more times.'
And the one you can just make unobtainable by shutting off the factory, how are you supposed to even know that one crusher will be important later, you only get access to that quest way after the Initial run through.
If they just didn't grant access to the generator room or inform you about how the crusher could be useful later it wouldn't be an issue.
The monthly gifts are just silly, and can be pretty helpful if you're struggling on expert. I don't think a feature like this has ever been done in a megaman game prior.

I love both zx and zxa

@@NovaZoneTV Megman game 😭😂🤣
a still a bit of a same they just turn into boss form instead of combine form like ZX, it just make thing looks cooler to see
Love this game, though I like X6, so maybe my opinion is flawed 😂
@@jouheikisaragi6075 I don't think it would be possible since the other biometals are with their chosen one's now, unless you get the opportunity to get them back and Double MegaMerge like always,
I always loved the A-Trans, less riding on X and Zero's coattails and more about exploring different ways to fight.
@@rogue1248 when I said hotswap I mean instant changing, not needing to freeze time to do it. To smoothen the experience. You could sorta do it in Advent on the DS but LC makes it much clunkier
Megaman ZX advent. 2 steps forward 4 steps back
Model A is axl
Wait liking ZXA over ZX is a hot take? Damn
Correction zx takes in 25xx
@@NovaZoneTV isn't is 24XX? I always see 24XX although I never checked it up myself. I thought it was clear and official.
3:15 what anime is this from?
And 13:20 what anime?

Do Reploids have souls to begin with?
Tbh, this sounds more like a religion & philosophy question than a MMZX question.
I thought albert was related to albert wily
Model A is AXL.
Model X was Mega Man X.
Model Z was Zero.
Not sure why they keep trying to rewrite the logical.
There will probably never be a sequel to Advent. We don't even know if we'll get Mega Man 12 or Mega Man X9...
I like ZX's music and the copy abilities more than Advent's A -trans. It does seem to be a more streamlined game than its predecessor, but Advent has so many annoying dialogue breaks it's a bit awkward to play it.
*Model X was Megaman X
Rock has been long forgotten by the time of ZX
When it came to Model A, by the time X8 came out, ZX Advent was already done so the dev team didn't know about Axl's fate. So it was more if a 'use the design, not the character' thing.
You're mixing some releases up. X8 came out the same year as Zero 3. ZX1 wasn't even an idea yet by the time X8 came out. It could be that Capcom said Inti Creates couldn't write any finale for Axl, but it's definitely clear that the "bait and switch" was their reason for using the design. Players will assume it's "Model Axl" only for that twist to get them.
@@NovaZoneTV Really? Huh, guess that one video I watch on the matter maybe been wrong.
Average Mega Man game, terrible Metroidvania, best Ben 10 game.
Also if the Psuedoroid forms are merely tools for hyperspecific roadblocks why even bother giving them unique forms? Just augment the existing models from the first game and ditch A-Trans. It'd need to be an entirely different narrative but hey who cares the ZX games have garbage story anyway
