Hi Meghan, did the same on my bike. Loved the sound but you definitely need a tune with the straight pipe. Otherwise the bike runs way to lean and in the long run can damage the valves. These bikes are lean from factory so adding a straight pipe exhaust makes it worst. I know it sounds awesome but if you keep it, get a tune. I eventually changed mine with a Zard exhaust, sounds great and I don't necessarily need a tune. Just my 2 cents. Love the bike though.
Bike sounds great! Love the decel pop too! Since all you did is a slip on exhaust and didn't change the head pipes or the air intake for higher flow, no tune is needed. Sure even a stock bike could benefit from a tune for maximum performance, but as far as mechanical failure you have no need to worry with just a slip on. Have fun and ride safe!
The shot of the bike passing the camera on the street sounds bad-assed! Of course it'll be too loud if you spend a lot of time grooving around at 3:30 a.m. in bedroom neighborhoods. A quick trip to the stealership for a tune can be combined with other maintenance stuff. If you're happy with the exhaust it's all good.
The pop when you decelerare usually indicates the fuel mix is too lean. UpMap is probably the easiest product to use to remap your ECU to put more fuel into the mix.
The high tops and kevlar or no kevlar are great for motorcycle riding...if no accident. But hopefully what is taught at motorcycle safety class is that accidents do happen; even to beautiful people. The best exercise to do is to sit down on a nice comfy chair, close your eyes, imagine you are opening your eyes for the first time after surgery needed due to an accident: loss of flesh, crushed bones, heavy internal damage, totally mangled feet and ankles. First thought you should have is what could you have done differently. Not ride in the streets? hmmm maybe not. Wear proper body armour? Could you have worn better protection on your feet? And then realize, hey, the accident hasn't happened yet...maybe never but if it does, be prepared...be safe...don't giggle away caution.
The bike runs lean, that's why you hear the pop and crackle when decelerating. It's the unspent gases that are making those noises. Sounds cool but not good for engine.
You are absolutely correct about the unspent gasses except, the popping and spitting are caused by air introduced by air being injected into the exhaust by the emissions system. She needs to lose the air injectors to stop this. The air causes the unspent fuel to ignite. Back in the day it was just caused by leaky exhaust fittings.
Your new pipe sounds great 👍 Luv the rumble / growly sound. Awesome. Yeah lots of peeps always say to retune etc, but I personally and also any of my biker friends have never bothered doing that with any custom pipes on sport or cruisers. Good to have some quality boots for riding to protect your ankles if u fall off. I use high boots not quite up to the knee. Looks like u had a good bike cruise. You might become a worldwide coff brand as big as Twinnings one day 😀
My son-in-law, a bit of a hipster character, went down at under 30mph. His ankle height laced non-motorcycle leather cool looking boot was ripped right off of his foot. Mangled his foot and ankle. Emergency surgery needed with pins etc. Please please please wear proper high quality motorcycle boots. You only come issued with two feet.
The bulk of that salt is for Milwaukee and surrounding suburbs and represents about a third of what will get used in an average winter. Bike sounds good on video!
I think it sound is awesome Lady!!! And Yes, you shaved a ton of weight off the bike. Just ask your Ducati dealer if the bike automatically compensates for the bikes exhaust pressure in the ECU. My Thruxton does. If not they can do a re-map on the bike usually pretty cheap. Peace Meghan! Ride SAFE and BE safe Lady! 👏👏👏🙌👌👍✌🖖🤙👋🙂
It sounds great! Definitely worth keeping and will stay tuned on a follow-up if adjustments have to be made. About the boots, I try to stay conscious about foot/ankle protection so I wear some very well padded Timberland hiking boots but can admit sometimes I put on my low slip-on Pumas to ride so maybe Kevlar socks is the way to go. But, if I'm considering those socks I should really just put on the safer and protective boots. 🤔
I love the sound of yours it’s just right .My Akropovich Evo Gp just came in today to replace my stock 850 Mana ultra quiet stock one... I just hope it’s not to obnoxious.
My brother used to ride this scrabbler with a ridiculously loud modded exhaust that literally made my bike vibrate when riding behind him. Would see people jump when he accelerated. So embarrassing!
Changing exhaust has absolutely no effect on rich or lean running conditions the O2 sensors report to the ECM and the computer adjusts fuel trim. Nice sound though
Yeah - I also like to have some sound on mine, but not to piss off the neighbors leaving early in the morning or coming back late. Especially in times where people are (getting) extremely sensitive to road-noise and wanting to ban motorcycles...
Let us know if you have to tune the bike. The oxygen censor on modern bikes like this may compensate for the normally lean mixture on bikes that don’t have o2 censors after a mod like this.
Not all 02 sensors are created equal. A system that uses a wide band 02 sensor will probably have enough adjustment range to compensate for the new exhaust. A system that uses a narrow band sensor may not .

This is hotly debated, a lot of people are saying I need a tune! 🤔 I'm going to ask my engineer friends just to be sure
The exhaust sounds good!!

Wouldnt a pop as you accelerate a lean fuel problem and on deceleration it is unburned fuel in the exhaust system?

Ditto! Wise words indeed.

That’s why I like carburetor engines instead of fuel injected

When the Thorogood boots are stocked I will be buying a pair! It would be dope if they sewed on your logo!
You are right, is not nearly as bad as I thought and it does sound awesome!
Might look into that one, thanks!!!!
Sounds perfect, better to have a loud bike than a quiet bike if you ask me 🤷🏻♂️

Bike sounds good, your goals should be achieved soon I hope. Best of luck!
You were at Clement and Oklahoma :D Howell was about a half mile west of you.

I like the way it sounds!
Exhaust Sound soo Good 😍😍👌👌
sounds great, haha the end.. Also, good music..
i actually like the sound of it, sounds super good!
I was just about to get some Thoroboots, but will wait to support your endeavors. Time to order more coffee!!
I hope it's too long before I stock their amazing boots! What style were you looking at getting?
Your bike sounds sooooo good

Sounds great, I prefer stocker sound, I don’t want attention when I ride. Either way enjoy your set up!
Add a medium sized exhaust which is narrow might work better my Royal Enfield has long one but it's loud noise alerts people the bullet is nearby 🤣

eye knu dat title wasa trick as soon as eye read it. 😋
eye knu u wud luv it! it sounds really good.
🤘😘
Do you have a baffle in it or is it just the pipe
Always enjoy your conversation :) bike sounds good.
Thank you Brendon!
That's a great growely sound!
That sounds fantastic
Sounds awesome !!
I Love ur Vlogs Meghan ,
Keep Creating 😍👌🙌🙌
Your exhaust sounds great, let us know how the socks go😊
Love youuu
Loud pipes are like painting your bike arrest-me-red. It draws the police like flies to honey. Be carefully!
Anyone had any issues with possible oil leak on rear engine cylinder?
Love youuuu
LOVE IT!!! 😀😃🙂👍👍
maybe somebody can answer: does exhaust wrap help with the noise as well?
Not really. The noise is from the uninhibited internal nature of the tubing, nit external vibration.
Diffenatley have the fuel tune cked out with the new exhaust. Better safe than sorry.
Yep, certainly can't hurt to do so!
It's popping because you messed up the fueling.
I’d stick to the factory exhaust if I was you
I mean... It's not stealthy either 🤣
Pop is a backfire. You are running lean. Do a video of you getting a tune.
So sexy sound am very tempted to do the same to my scrambler 1100 sport even I wish if I can lower the exhaust from seat level to lowest ground
Sounds farty. Love it.
Hi
What up
😊
YO YO
Loud exhausts suck. Hate riding with people who have it. I think its rude and serves no purpose than to piss off everyone around you.
Yeah - I also like to have some sound on mine, but not to piss off the neighbors leaving early in the morning or coming back late. Especially in times where people are (getting) extremely sensitive to road-noise and wanting to ban motorcycles...
Love you lagi sakit mam suami.indonesiaa
Get a real performance exhaust that is made specifically for you bike. That is obnoxious.
First, I win
