Thanks for watching everybody! This video was recorded back in late August in case you were curious about the timeline. It took forever to edit 🥲 Links to everything in the description! And if you're a real one, check out this exciting announcement on my website: www.greatlakesupplyco.com/gear
Not only is this so awesome, that dude Kyle with the epic beard is so badass! What a great way to help the bike community and create exposure to new people getting involved in the industry.
Hell yeah! We got one of those with a bunch of good people in so cal. If anybody wants to know; In the city of Eagle Rock, LA , CA. Same deal. It’s a moto Collective. Bunch of down to earth people. No egos. Everybody willing to help. They have a ride every 3rd Sunday (mostly). Such a great idea. Thank for sharing this Meghan!!
It's such a good idea for people who are just starting out, I'm lucky my family owns a lot of tools but even then i find myself buying more. Even just having a dedicated space to work and possibly leaving it half way through is a blessing when all you have is maybe a parking. space
I think the DIY bike collective is such a great idea. During your interview I was totally distracted by the early 70's XL 100. When I was 15 I wanted one of those so badly.
Fantastic blog! I had no idea that such a place existed in Milwaukee. I’m getting over to the location as soon as I can and get an interview set up so I can join. Love my bike and want to expand my mechanical knowledge so I can keep the bike running great.
That is such an awesome idea for a shop, building friendships learning with others so inspiring. Hope you will do more content or updates at least on the DIY community
Your new hoody looks good. Cool magnetic tank bag 😎. Oh that old chain was nasty. Yep gotta have a good quality chain and well oiled. Your bike will be much happier now. The DIY motorcycle shop sounds great 👍
These kinds of places are great. The space, the knowledge share, the access to equipment that the average DIY person would rarely buy for themselves but needs regularly. I'm looking at you, tire mounting equipment. I do suggest some noise protection around that compressor, gonna be LOUD in there when that thing kicks off, and with the winter here I bet it gets fairly busy on evenings and weekends now. Honestly, I think the ability for people to learn and do their own work is just as important as the space and equipment itself. Self reliant isn't really the word, but maybe small group? Plus, the confidence that comes from having worked on your own bike can be great when you're considering a trip where your usual support system might not be immediately on hand. Oh, looking forward to the riding hoodie. Something like that and a t-shirt with kevlar are high on my list for things like grocery runs and other extremely short rides where gearing up might take longer than the ride and I might be tempted to skip it if I stuck to traditional gear. Just grabbing a different hoodie and my helmet with the gloves stuffed in it will go a long way toward minimizing that temptation.
Hi Megan, How are You Doing? I am from India. I had a Honda Motorcycle for 21 years. I used to do the maintenance by myself. Like DIY. In my manual, it was written that whenever You have to replace a Chain, You have to replace the Sprockets also. When You remove the chain, it was cut open. That means there was no clip there. It was riveted. But You used the clip. How did You adjust the slackness of the Chain? Your Brother and You are a very good team. It is so nice. There is a repair workshop where You can take Your Motorcycle and work on it. That is really nice. We don't have anything like that here. Thanks. Take Care.
That’s so cool my brother lives in Milwaukee I live in Northern Virginia in the Washington DC area. I immediately recognized Brady Street from your video even though I haven’t been to Milwaukee in several years. It seems like you and my brother are neighbors. He doesn’t ride but I’ve been riding my entire life
Looks like so much fun. I would love to go to a place to learn more on how to work on motorcycles. When I hear people talk about woman only class, I'm like awe man. Class with no machismo, I'm in. But I totally understand about creating a safe space. Thanks for a great video!!!!!
I loved this a lot. I wish we had a moto garage like this in my town. We have a bicycle garage like this that I have used to work on my bicycle (love you BICAS Tucson), but no moto garage. :( I enjoyed watching how to do this.
Always enjoy the sorta dual narrative joining together of you and Dan style videos 😄 CreateMoto seems like such a great space and I'm infinitely jealous we dont have something like that over here. And great philosophy! Really nicely put together video too! 👍
I was LMAO the whole video.🤣 You two are very funny.😂 I am loving this dual vlog thing.👌Keep it up.👍 The editing was just awesome.💯 Liked it.❤️ By the way nice key chains and the hoodie was also looking damn good. You two take care, stay safe and ride safe.🙂
Do a video of you washing your bike and degreasing/lubing your new chain. Mainly so we know it actually happens! Haha I'm kidding. Great video. Great concept. I wish that guy much success!
This is a great resource to highlight. Thanks, I'll be checking them out. But ... ummm ... your chain? I've used a Scottoiler for over a decade. It works well and easily transfers to the next bike. There's also a lot of other automatic chain oilers as well. Just something to think about.
Any consideration to changing the sprockets with the chain? Many people do both at the same time. That’s a great idea to have a community garage, especially in big cities. Nice video.
Lol guys just like to.. ruin shit. Yeah, break it til it’s fixed:) Wish we had this space in Tampa Bay. This is my 1st year riding and finding my people has been fun!
Not this time, it's still in good shape. Both will definitely be changed out next time. The chain had superficial rust from humidity and weather unfortunately
🤘😘 wayyy cool place! can eye hav ur old chain? it wasnt even dat bad @ all! 😋 edit- eye too gotta 72 honda cb350-4cyl build goin on too. im bobn/chopn mine tho.

Always wear gloves when you work 🙌
Waiting on November to order

I love this idea of a diy garage where people can use the tools.

The community garage concept is fucking rad. Kyle seems like real real solid dude. Very inspiring.

So many cool gems hiding around that shop!

Thanks for shouting this place out! Very cool.
The ending background music was dope😄

Milwaukee needed a place like that
Okay Colorado Springs totally needs a place like that. *sigh* maybe one day 🥲
Excited to see more info about that armored hoodie 👀
Yep, Megan... This sort of thing is needed all over NA. Especially with
the oil change and tire change scope.
Ciao
“Guys like to ruin sh_t”. Lmao! True

That was so cool excellent concept I especially like the statement about no douchebags 👍
Really good video Meghan! Definitely seems like a good place to get work done or just hang out!
"I just don't want douchebags" lol, I'm not religious at all but. amen to that.
2:48 is me every time I try to unscrew something 😂
Very cool place! Awesome video!

hehe..cant wait.
"It comes pre-lubed."
"Same."
lmaoooooo
Nice job. I drive a lot of the same streets that you ride. Do you want to test out a sidecar rig?
Love your work. Great idea.

Decided to save it for next time.
Depends on the wear. If the chain is just rusty and not worn out of spec the sprockets will still interface dandy with a new chain.
Lol guys just like to.. ruin shit. Yeah, break it til it’s fixed:) Wish we had this space in Tampa Bay. This is my 1st year riding and finding my people has been fun!
Grieg!
Hey quick check;. Did you do the sprocket?
Not this time, it's still in good shape. Both will definitely be changed out next time. The chain had superficial rust from humidity and weather unfortunately
🤘😘
