Ummmm excuse me JEEEEEEM but I debate esoteric canons that my spiritual father has explicitly forbidden me from reading 9 hours a day to the glory of God thank you very much.
So obviously quartodecimanism is the accurate observation. What, then, of Arianism? Wouldnt this standard (which i agree with) kind of discredit the entirety of Nicene trinitarianism? Im new here brother. What are your thoughts on homoousios, as a concept?
Actually, you're wrong on the canons. The introduction to the Pedalion actually says that it was released in Greek to be written for regular people! Patriarchal blessing!
Here's the thing: Theres a big difference between a longtime Orthodox layperson reading canons, and a terminally online 20 year old catechumen or neophyte reading canons. Most of the people obsessively debating canons online not only fall into the latter, but generally dont even have their spiritual father's blessing to be getting into those sorts of online debates and apologetics
@@NFTUOrthodoxApologetics Spiritual children (particularly ones new in the faith) should be seeking their spiritual father's blessing if they're going out of their way to put themselves in a situation where they may be seen as a teacher of the faith by those ignorant of it. That's not unreasonable (and it's a common question that comes up towards Orthodox internet apologists, you may notice) Canons can sometimes be useful to know in as much as they can help delineate principles from Scripture and the Fathers, but reading them without a grounding in those and a proper Orthodox life and practice absolutely does more harm than good. The number of bitter arguments and outright grudges I've seen form in Orthodox circles online over canonical minutiae that aren't even relevant to laymen is staggering. And at least around half involved at least one person who was either a catechumen or newly baptized/chrismated. Also, I've seen it happen a few times where a neophyte becomes despondent after reading canons too much and ends up apostatizing (sometimes with the middle step of going "True" Orthodox/Old Calendarist schismatic)
@@BroadwayRonMexico One, I'm not sure how to answer this without being offensive. To be honest the way you're phrasing it is offensive, as you are basically implying all True Orthodox are just a stepping stone to apostasy, especially from a bunch of ecumenists. Considering my own experience and people I know both old and new, I know your paradigm is simply wrong, and that is really, the politest way I can respond to you. May God bless you. Christ is Risen!

Did you have any specific theologians from the 500s in mind that contradict scripture?

@@BroadwayRonMexico Personally I think a spiritual father micromanaging his spiritual children isn't a very good one.
