Be aware that removing a shattered screen will be tedious and you must be patient and careful to remove all of the bits from the glue channel between the screen and the phone body. Removing the old glue is a VERY tedious and time consuming process so be prepared to take considerably longer than the 30-60 minutes shown in the directions. Also be aware that having a magnifiying headset with lights should be a high priority purchase along with this kit. Re-attaching the screen-to-phone connector is also incredibly tedious and frustrating. It took more than 8 hours of work to get ours replaced. At first it all worked fine and 10 minutes later the screen failed. Be prepared to either be delighted that your efforts bring a phone back to life or that it will end in utter failure and frustration... it is NOT as easy as you think. The TH-cam videos are all missing this information and make it all look easy...... not so.
You sir have saved me $200 in labor alone. I thought this was going to require some loca glue and uv lights and special wire techniques to remove lcd and what not (i used to repair phones back in 2007-2012 lots have changed....) Thank you for the video! liked and sub'd!
Hi Thanks for the video. My Pixel 4a 5G glass is broken, but the LCD works fine. The screen only part is much much cheaper (about $15) but I see no videos on how to replace that. Have you ever replace the screen only? Is it impossible to get it off LCD that's why everybody replace the whole thing?
Aren't pixel 4a screen OLED screen? Is the replacement screen OLED? My problems with the replacement screens sold on the internet is that most of them use weak glass and they crack very easily
Thought I was gonna fix the phone myself but the screen itself cost as much as getting a pro to do it. 😑 I'm mostly mad cause I ordered a case for it a day before I broken it and it didn't come in until the day after.
Hello! First of all, thanks so much for this! I couldn't have done this without you as I had no experience fixing phone screens so I had to watch your video multiple times! My phone screen now is replaced but it's showing 1 straight horizontal green line on the left side of the screen, end to end, although the top end changes to pink sometimes white light half an inch under the camera. Can this still be fixed? Thank you!
Sounds like the display was damaged during installation unfortunately. Either that or the screen was defective. Sometimes this is covered by who you bought it from
@@RealWorldReview Thank you so much for the prompt response! Sounds like I did eff it up. I tested it before the glue and clamps and it was working fine before turning it off. 😭🤦♀️ But hey, still thankful for your video! You have a nice day, sir! 🖖
You can try to remove it and put it on again because as it does sound like the screen was damaged during replacement but it can also mean the connector is not fully connected
@@trainsandcups My screen shows the same optical fault! But the screen is not defect at all. After loosening the display on the top right side, the fault is gone. Please make sure the display is not bend when fixed to the device.
Do not separate the OLED and the glass. If you do, you’ll ruin the OLED (if you’re not trying to preserve it, that’s fine.) on this one, there’s no frame around the screen that’s removable at this point. So make sure to lift at the glass, not the plastic trim
@@rororara20 Can you please point me to a good source for these screen, hopefully at a good price as well? I'll also post this question independently in the main comment section, so it will be visible to more people. Thank you in advance.
I can't get the touchpad on Google pixel 4a 5g. I disassembled it, cleaned the glass on the camera, I put it together and I can't see the touchpad but the bottom buttons are fine. About as it was disassembled I accidentally pressed power and the phone turned on because there was a sound. Please advise. th-cam.com/video/MypQbG7wVzo/w-d-xo.html
The design is so bad when i work on these they don't even need head I can put my fingernail straight under the screen ,run it along the edges and take the screen off without breaking it.

Wow finally a coherent repair video in English I'm truly amazed and thrilled
Great tutorial, easy to follow. Thanks!

Pixel screen break so easily on trivial drop. Never buying pixel again
Was the replacement screen as good as the original? Thanks for the great vid!
Yeah it is. This one was a refurbished screen
Lcd or led which display is good
I have ordered the glass and kit. Have you got a video you replace glass
Can I use hairdryer, instead of the heat gun? Great video btw!
Yes you can
How can you add the "grid" for the ear speaker - this is so small an tiny - I'm not able to add it to the new display
Hello! It's possible to use a normal hairdryer instead of the heat gun? Thanks!

Yeah the non-wholesale parts are kind of expensive
The same happened to me today I ordered a screen protector and case 2 hours ago and before I knew it I had dropped my phone and cracked it
I know it's 2 years old but literally this exact situation happened to me today, this sucks
Great video thanks!
Does it matter if I just use some like random super glue?
I broke my my phone in many different areas, i want wanted to know how much would it be for all of this together if i where to do it myself?
forgot to add i only broke my screen not the LCD
What is your opinion on using Tessa tape instead of glue? Would that still work ok?
Not sure how well it'll actually hold. And don't put it behind the screen as that raises the chance of breaking the OLED
Where did you get the screen?
Thank you !
Thanks! Now my questions is... Where to get a replacement screen? (In Switzerland)
I have no idea other than ebay or Amazon lol

ifixit replacement
Is there anyway to change just the screen and not the LCD?
*Just the glas
Search for 'Display Glad Replacement'.
Technically yes but good luck.
Is the screen for the pixel 4 any different than the 4A
Yes lol completely different
Will this screen replacement work if the old screen has gone black?
Yes
what if i cut inbetween the screen?also i cant seem to get the led budge…
does the steel frame around the display need to come off with the screen?

I wanted to replace my screen - but it looks like it's literally cheaper to replace the entire phone than buy a new LCD for it 🥲
A used one for sure
