So I bought a new screen for my Pixel 7 Pro from Aliexpress. Worked perfect (ish) Had some issues with lack of response and sometimes the touch going insane. It would render the screen un-usable, until reboot. But this did not happen more than 3-4 times in 2 months.
Then suddenly, the screen just died, no response what so ever, black screen. Tried the old broken screen, and it worked.
Seller refused to replace it. Bough a new screen, from different seller, after about 6 weeks, this also died.
So beaware, there are many bad screens out there.
I`ve bought random screens on Aliexpress before, and never had issues, before the Pixel 7 Pro screens.

Have you ever considered doing a front glass only repair?, I've seen some videos of the OLED itself being intact but the glass being cracked but the results seem pretty but and cheap

Yeah good luck with that. It’s very difficult to do. There are companies that refurbish these screens, but a HUGE majority skip out on Pixel screens, with curved screens being somewhat expensive to refurbish. So for the average person, this is impossible. I’ve done it a lot on flat hard OLED screens and even then have some struggles.

Any tips on reconnecting the ribbon cable on the screen? This this is frustrating.

Just be careful and make sure you damage any of the plastic

@@RealWorldReview thanks for the reply. Does the blue backing film need to be removed from the new screen before testing? I'm getting no response when I try to power up.

@@MattTigers the blue might be some protective seal, like what they do on the front. Removing that is fine, but the screen should power on regardless

After replacing the display, is it still as water-resistant as new? and my phone's display is completely fine, but the glue is falling off. Is there any solution for that??
