I would add, don’t think it’s hot everywhere! I have known of Americans struck by the cold in my city Pachuca, 7800 feet altitude. Nights are cold all year in highland Mexico, and even freeze in winter!
When I lived in El Salvador I was probably a level B2 (high intermediate) in Spanish, but I'm now a B1 - enough to do basic things, get through immigration, airports, etc., but not enough to really have involved conversations. I can tell you that being a B2 was pretty amazing. I can't wait to move! My only concern is that I don't eat meat - only seafood, but the spices and flavors are very familiar to me (I grew up with a Bangladeshi stepgrandfather).

My house in Mexico has screen on most windows. 😅. One of the things if I were to move to Mexico (full time) that I would miss from the US is the vast variety of low carb food products. Nothing else!
To me 6 years to get to intermediate Spanish. The people really respect that. I am not moving back to usa 🇺🇸 or where only foreigner lives, I leave usa for a reason. There's barely any ac in central Mexico because it's mostly cool there.
@iamalanabroad I guess depends where living, I was in Mexico state end of August to September and I was in sweater. It got to 64 degrees at night. I live in playa del Carmen. I have ac there because it tropical and more if not all places rent with ac. It's like mandatory
Some people cannot adapt and are too old to learn. You shouldn’t even think of finding a job in Mexico. You can open a business if you need to work. Mexico is beautiful but it won’t be changing anytime soon to accommodate you.

Because you went to Mexico City, Southern Mexico is different, but the North is a lot more Americanized like Mexicali. I wouldn't recommend Mexico only for the violence and crime, in the 90's it was okay but it's gotten worse.

As far as the immigration part of the video,in the United States you can wait at least 2 years or more on an average to receive an answer from a case submitted to USCIS, whether it is a work permit, permanent residence or any other process,in my case I had to wait 4 years for an approval to the date USCIS received my case for a work permit.
Yes the USA im sure has its share of hell with that, i just wanted to point out a final example of something that could take a while in Mexico as well!
I actually think the lack of heat in the winter is the biggest shocker to me, being from a colder climate in the Northeast! But space heaters to the rescue.

TBH I don't think that places in Mexico like México City or Toluca you should necessary have and air conditioner in your house. Haha. The weather condition inside the house and also outside it's not too Hot to live without it. Especially Toluca, which is the highest city in the country. But that's just a personal opinión.

Im from south of Mexico (Acapulco,Guerrero) and I know TONS of people (poor and not poor) that don’t have A/C because installation and electricity can be expensive. I have seen the same in other beach cities.
Yeah I have not done it the opposite way, was just an example of something that could take a while in mexico that perhaps some naive foreigners would assume is fast.
You live in southern Mexico, so not everything applies to the rest of the country. I've lived in a few different cities in the north and we do have drive-thru banking, pharmacies and convenience stores. Also, the food varies from state to state.

I don't know where you're from, but here in the states there is no such a thing as a 2 hour window! example Directv failure--I was told noon to 6pm. The guy showed up after 7pm! You want fix something with your driver's licence it can take days! No to mention the SS office; it can take weeks! I have lived in LA, Scottsdale AZ, Indianapolis, and Chicago! What are you talking about? I can't wait to move to Mexico! Up here the RED tape is monstrous. "Clarification" people from Mexico want you to learn Spanish and to assimilate (especially younger/educated generations) the submissive demeanor of older generations and of past government officials is gone! "please learn the language and assimilate otherwise go someplace else." Unfortunately, US stores have invaded Mexico, so you will easily find pop tarts, cheez it, and more. Root beer is a flavor not appealing to Mexico, so it's more charging to find it, but you will find it. Definitely, if you are not willing to change your diet stay home, or go someplace else! In Texas, CA, ILL, IN, AZ spicy food is in. TRUE, you pay for what you get!

You could have encompassed all 7 reasons into 1. If you are a Karen (and whatever the male equivalent is) DON'T come to Mexico (not even talking about moving permanently, just don't come).
You literally missed the opportunity to make this video better. First of all, all the food you get in the USA you can get here, in Mexico. We are full of Walmarts, Costos, Sam's Clubs, and every fast-food chain from the USA. Designer clothes have the same price in the USA, Mexico, or Europe. It's not cheaper or more expensive. The only thing more expensive is electronics due to tariffs. The only good point you made is whether are you willing to live like a local! Real reasons NOT to move to Mexico could be; Water and Electricity being shut down for days, air pollution in the country, the lack of civic manners Mexicans have for society and the rule of law, plus whatever local problems there are in the area one is moving to. This could be a crime of any kind, such as petty crime, fraud ( which is huge in Mexico), and cartel violence. Which makes it hard to actually be able to move to certain areas in peace, and be able to walk at night. If you're used to the nightlife of Europe or the USA, you're not going to have that here. If you want to be in bed by 9 and relax in a bubble of safety then Mexico is for you.
I don't agree on clothing, maybe some fast fashion but the USA has way more outlets and options for that... And you make some interesting points - But as far as mexican civics and rules of society, as a foreigner here I don't think this is the channel for those kind of scathing critiques. Creo que en la última parte exageras, hay mucha vida nocturna , pero depende a donde vayas. Y peligro hay en todas las ciudades grandes de EEUU Lo de el agua y luz depende también donde vivas, pero este año en especial de sequía en todo México si hubo cortes muy seguido de agua y luz, pero lo de la luz es algo más bien político por intereses del partido neoliberal, y también a la demanda de energía creció mucho, por el crecimiento de todas las ciudades y porque en lugares como el centro de México no hacía tanto calor como se han sentido unos 5 ó 6 años hasta este año. Hay un mes donde se viene una ola de calor tremenda que es atípica para el centro de la República , antes de crecer tanto las ciudades la temperatura aquí en Querétaro no pasábamos de 27 grados, ahora tenemos como 3 o 4 años que tenemos Una ola de calor que dura un mes temperaturas hasta de 33 a 34 grados que jamás habíamos llegado y puede ser entre Mayo o Junio , es sofocante y por lo mismo hubo mucha demanda de aires acondicionados que antes de este clima de calor jamás lo habíamos necesitado y por lo tanto más demanda de energía 🇲🇽❤️ Creo que lo de la ropa sale sobrando, pero hay demasiados centros comerciales donde no te alcanzará el dinero para comprarte algo, ustedes los yankies son demasiado materialistas y tiran o desperdician demasiado de todo por tener lo último de moda en ciertos círculos como también pasa en México, hay niveles sociales donde unos gastan millones en un fin de semana y otros muy poco.

@Manuelmartinez-jq8bk Si tienes razon pero hay muchos matices. Como en todos lados, tu calidad de vida depende de cuanto ganas en comparacion del costo de vida local. EU se ha vuelto mas desigual con el tiempo y por eso existen canales como este, porque muchos en EU prefieren la calidad de vida en Mexico o simplemente les rinde mucho mas su dinero. Mexico es mas inseguro pero desgraciadamente EU, aunque no tanto, tambien se ha vuelto mas inseguro y socialmente esta muy dividida su sociedad. En general EU sigue siendo mejor para vivir, si ganas el suficiente dinero pero ya no es lo que era antes.

Depending where you go in Mexico - theres def a growing vegan/vegetarian scene especially in CDMX, the cancun/playa area etc.

Real reasons NOT to move to Mexico could be; Water and Electricity being shut down for days, air pollution in the country, the lack of civic manners Mexicans have for society and the rule of law, plus whatever local problems there are in the area one is moving to. This could be a crime of any kind, such as petty crime, fraud ( which is huge in Mexico), and cartel violence. Which makes it hard to actually be able to move to certain areas in peace, and be able to walk at night. If you're used to the nightlife of Europe or the USA, you're not going to have that here. If you want to be in bed by 9 and relax in a bubble of safety then Mexico is for you.
I don't agree on clothing, maybe some fast fashion but the USA has way more outlets and options for that... And you make some interesting points - But as far as mexican civics and rules of society, as a foreigner here I don't think this is the channel for those kind of scathing critiques. I am focusing on issues facing those moving mostly from the USA and Canada. Thanks for tuning in!

Lo de el agua y luz depende también donde vivas, pero este año en especial de sequía en todo México si hubo cortes muy seguido de agua y luz, pero lo de la luz es algo más bien político por intereses del partido neoliberal, y también a la demanda de energía creció mucho, por el crecimiento de todas las ciudades y porque en lugares como el centro de México no hacía tanto calor como se han sentido unos 5 ó 6 años hasta este año. Hay un mes donde se viene una ola de calor tremenda que es atípica para el centro de la República , antes de crecer tanto las ciudades la temperatura aquí en Querétaro no pasábamos de 27 grados, ahora tenemos como 3 o 4 años que tenemos Una ola de calor que dura un mes temperaturas hasta de 33 a 34 grados que jamás habíamos llegado y puede ser entre Mayo o Junio , es sofocante y por lo mismo hubo mucha demanda de aires acondicionados que antes de este clima de calor jamás lo habíamos necesitado y por lo tanto más demanda de energía 🇲🇽❤️
Creo que lo de la ropa sale sobrando, pero hay demasiados centros comerciales donde no te alcanzará el dinero para comprarte algo, ustedes los yankies son demasiado materialistas y tiran o desperdician demasiado de todo por tener lo último de moda en ciertos círculos como también pasa en México, hay niveles sociales donde unos gastan millones en un fin de semana y otros muy poco.

@Manuelmartinez-jq8bk Si tienes razon pero hay muchos matices. Como en todos lados, tu calidad de vida depende de cuanto ganas en comparacion del costo de vida local. EU se ha vuelto mas desigual con el tiempo y por eso existen canales como este, porque muchos en EU prefieren la calidad de vida en Mexico o simplemente les rinde mucho mas su dinero. Mexico es mas inseguro pero desgraciadamente EU, aunque no tanto, tambien se ha vuelto mas inseguro y socialmente esta muy dividida su sociedad. En general EU sigue siendo mejor para vivir, si ganas el suficiente dinero pero ya no es lo que era antes.
