- I finally made the purchase of a new analog slot car controller and I landed on the Difalco DD302. We unbox it and discuss the features of this great controller. Too bad I don't have the ability to use my new DD302 on my track...wait.. that give me an idea...

thanks Marty iu & Dave K. are great help for this newby
Glad you think so! I appreciate the kind words Monty!
Hi Marty, I enjoyed your "Light bulb" going off. You had me laughing 🤣
😁 thanks… it was a light bulb moment for me.. was able to wrap my head around what was really going on to make it work. Then I got to work 😂😂
Yepp this is the one I told you about!
Jim made one for Chris in Metallic Sage and mine is Electric Green. Chris has hers down from car to car. I frequently hear "stop playin' with you buttons" 😂
Jim DeFalco is a LEGEND 🏁
😂😂 always looking for that extra time on the track..
Marty you got the very customizable version. Great explanation of the traction control as well. I use this with a buddy in team racing at commercial tracks, we don't use traction control often, but the other settings and the controller overall is just killer! Plus, you can chip the ohms for different response. I use Professor Motor for standard and are the offering at HRP for all racers, but for outstanding control, you nailed it here. You said it, you can use it for anything! Great choice and glad you got it working too!
Thanks Hobbit!! I will pick up a Professor Motor as well to have as a loaner for the track. I am loving this DD302!
Glad you finally got one! Now you'll have to come west and run it on a track. Jim Difalco makes some of the best controllers in the industry! I also ordered a DD304 from Mike at Cloverleaf. I got to use it and wow there's a huge difference from my DD300 (or DD301 I'm not 100% sure which one my first Difalco is).
I hope I don’t regret not getting the DD304… really curious to understand that brake circuit..thanks!
@@twolinesslotcars I don't think you'll regret your purchase
really ? big difference ?!...your track times improve as a result ?
@@norfloslotcar I have seen a slight improvement as I tweak the settings… and a new track record 👍😂
Great info.. helped me set up my slot it SCP-3 controller 🤜
Glad it helped! Dusty’s SlotIt is growing on me.. it has a lot of adjustment!
You explained traction control perfectly - it just changes the mapping like the engine setting knob on newest cars and trucks. I was unaware there were controllers with such tech, looking forward to some demo videos of the unit you’ve bought
Working on a more detailed video, hopefully I can show the advantages.
Great video... I ordered my DD507 yesterday
Nice 👍 I think I am really going to like mine. Can’t wait to get some laps in…
Hey Marty, your idea of nuclear fission was off the hook and kinda scary. Nuclear powered slot cars awesome buddy.
😂😂
Thank you for another Saturday morning video....now before work.
Morning! Thanks Chris!! Have a great day bro!
Very nice Marty. I had a newer dd301 and Jim told me what pieces to change and sold them to me. I now have a dd302 spec controller with minimal soldering. I dont have the controller in front of me but i believe if you keep the traction control knob counter clockwise all the way, then the traction control is not in play and will work like a dd301 just sensitivity and brake.
It is a nice upgrade.. and traction control comes in handy
Nice share . I guess I need to try one so I understand difference.
What controller do you use now?
You know my superb thumb wireless carrera controller. Lol
Good video Marty!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great ending - Youuuuu teaseeee. I wanted to see that controller in action.
Coming soon Doug!
Thanks for sharing this. Those are some great explanations thanks.
Glad it was helpful! Now that see if it makes me faster or more consistent.
@@twolinesslotcars yes, you laid out DeFactos really well..
I hope it works out for you. Do you expect a big difference from your home track to a commercial wood track with the controller?
Greg, I am not sure what to expect… I will keep you posted.
Now you need an OmniSlotBox so you can use that controller on your track!
Someday Jim... LOL.
I have the same controller clear and purple but I do not have the traction control knob it is great
Sweet! So the DD300?
G'day Marty buying the right controller is hard , started using the difalco controller however I had problems the boys in our club use ACE pro 5 not cheap 😳 however I am happy it's your choice the drag cars boys love it
Rhys, Ace Pro 5? I will have to check it out.. I would really like to build my own.. would be a fun project. I am now fascinated with wiring and schematics..
@Nascarstatman. hi Marty yep $400
@twolinesslotcars hi Marty before the new controllers came in service , lots of my mates build their own controllers , do give it a go
Strong brake gets stronger
No brakes in motor is still no brakes.
Cranked up 10 brakes with the right car stops on a dime.
Smooth ball bearing trigger. Needs grommet for wire entry into grip....only beef.
It is very smooth.. that is a good idea Steve!
nice information thanks
Thanks Chris! This is a great controller!
Thx Marty! great tips and vid, cheers! traction control , sorta like Expo if your coming from rc cars / quadcopters / planes!
Exactly! I spent a very short time in RC..
Good choice of controllers. I still have yet to try out my 304. What is that unit you used to connect it to your track?
Hey DeLeon… that 304 should be awesome with its advanced braking..
I was curious and decided to see if I could build something.. and I did. 😬
content is good...ill be happy when you race with it and observe if its made a difference in your track times. Im just completing my home track and cant find my old controller sooo I might be in the market as well
Thanks… getting some laps in now.. and the results are good.. really good.
This should be good!
being you’ve already done the heavy lifting on research, if you were just looking for better control of HO cars for basement fun what would you recommend? thanks
Difalco makes controllers rated for HO!
Does DiFalco make digital controllers Marty? And where to get them? Thanks as always
Only analog.. Cloverleaf, SlotCar Corner and direct from Difalco.
@@twolinesslotcars I like the features that you pointed out. Was hoping for digital but….
New to your channel. How did you connect the controller to your track? Do you have a video that shows how you did it?
th-cam.com/video/S66AyqHkDQc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=z49_AvQzZFnkeTVT there are two parts to this… I built a digital to analog convertor.
I also posted this…

Thanks for tuning in!
Thanks my friend for your content and response
@@MrAramsey4979 no problem Anthony! Happy to help!
Hello Martin, can you briefly write for me about the difalco controller
It is a great controller. It has sensitivity, braking and traction control. It is well made and has a great feel in your hand. I really like that it still has a wiper so you really feel the trigger.
Nice Marty, Is there a wireless one cause I really like not being tethered. great video content
Just had this conversation with Rahul yesterday.. not many options on the analog side of the house.. found a company in France called Sillage.. they make a wireless analog controller that looks amazing.. outside of that.. digital is the best bet for wireless… we have one of the wireless Frankenslot controllers.. it is great!
@@twolinesslotcars Thanks I’ll look into it
That remote is for Analog only?
Yes, I still have the Truspeed for digital.
Oh Boy, now you need a Bigger Trackhoe...
Getting work done Dan!! 😂😂
Sometimes they don't like you playing with their buttons on borrowed controllers.
I would never change the settings… for that very reason Steve..
I grabbed Chris' controller by accident and made all kinds of custom tuning adjustments. When she started her race she didn't check knows. She looked like a Quarter Miler with no catch fence! You should see the looks I got!
You can use it right now! Wire it . Instructions on you tube
👍👍
❤ yo Marty
🤔🤔hmmm I wonder????
Flux Capacitor
lmao you can't plug it into your track , that is so funny
Past tense… I can now 😂
