Hi Ken, only thing keeping me away from buying this is support for external microphone. First thing, I am really disappointed how can a company launch model with such a potential with very average microphone and not clear information for enhancements. Please help with this.
Hi Prashant Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it! I did have a very long conversation with some the akaso reps. I was told the external microphone is coming out next month. I know for me, I do like vlogging with my action camera and the external microphone could be a big help. Please subscribe, as soon as they release the microphone I will do a review on it.

@@prashantransingh8144 In my opinion the the X is better over all. However, the sound quality on the V50 pro is better than both the x and V50 elite. If I had to choose I'll take the V50X, with the pro coming in a very close 2nd. The stabilization on the X is awesome.

When you record 6-7 mins the sound goes out of sync, saw it on another vid. I am searching for a good action cam in a decent price, I wonder if things like that can be fixed with a firmware upgrade,
I'm having a problem I used my camera last winter snowmobiling I turned it on this year and it won't record or take a pic..why..I also noticed all my videos are gone..does it need a good card for it to work?? One more ? The battery dies in like 5-10 mins in cold..will the white go pro battery work? If not then is there a cold weather battery? Thank
AKASO V50-X Update: After much experimentation, I have found that this Camera performs very well with the latest firmware of Nov 2019 except that when using the APP "ACASO Go" or "RoadCAM," the issue is that the soundtracks with either internal or external mics have Pops and Crack sounds. I have not been able to find a workaround for this issue. If you make movies without using the App(s), no problems using this Camera. In this mode, I would give it a 10 out of 10, including video quality (4k) and sound (internal or external mics.) Let us hope they fix this sound issue with their App in the next update

Hi there, My V50x doesn't make smooth video when turning to side-by-side. Only straight forward move creates good enough video. How to fix this problem. I've already installed some of super-duper fast sd card, but it doesn't help. Probably, updating firmware could fix it, but I do not know which one is good. Thanks.
I like this camera but I have endless issues when I try to use the AKASO app to transfer the videos from the camera to my phone. One problem is the sound will be with the video but when I download the video to my phone no sound at all. And the other problem is the video will not even hardly play on my phone unless the camera is actively connected to my phone while watching. Any idea what I have going on?
Can we use the external after market micro adaptor for external mic so that we can use 3.5mm input mic?if can,that mean we can inprove a lot of the voice and it would be better🤗🤗

9:00 micro USB ports are known to not be working for external microphones. In fact every action camera supporting an external microphone either uses a 3,5mm jack or mini USB. How is Akaso supposed to overcome that? Or will they use the other port that is shown?
Hi ken what type off sd card i use to my akaso v50x ..i buy 16 gb SanDisk....having problem with the recording i have to format it fist ..so i can continue recording but if i turn off the camera and turn on again the notification sd card speed slow pop up ..and connot do the recording ..i have to format it again so i can record a video ...

Just bought this camera, this is the updated firmware version of the camera with a november the 1st firmware. The audio is awful even on the updated firmware version, such a shame as it ruins any recorded footage. Clearly they didn't road test the camera before it's release, a potentially decent camera spoiled by dreadful audio.
Yeah that was last update. Unfortunately there will be no new update anytime soon for the v50x according to Akaso. If you get the external microphone, it makes the audio sound better.

Can you use an external microphone with the case on? I know it would make it not waterproof but I want to use a chest mount. Does the case open up on the side with the ports or no?
Thanks. I've been told it's going to be a special external microphone made specifically for Akaso. They currently have a microphone for the Akaso v50 pro, but that microphone sound quality is not good. I'll keep you informed
@@techwithkenrobertson7439 better late than never, I have the akaso v50x and yes, indeed the microphone is terrible, but there is an easy fix, I've seen some videos where people disassemble the camera and put in a higher quality internal mic, I've also seen people take apart the usb connector on the new mic to match the original microphone usb, they moved 1 of the wires up, to make it impossible to use unoriginal mic, however!! Simple fix is to spend the 30$ or so, for the original microphone and then simply cut the wire a few inches from the USB, then add a 3.5mm female jack and swoosh, you can use any microphone you want, no worries about warranty or bricking your camera, you're welcome 😁😉

What’s the video resolution when you record a video at 4k? I tried mine and it’s 1024x576 ... I did that with image stabilization on and off. Also tried 2.7k and I got the same resolution. Going back to shooting videos with my phone. After all, when I watch the video I don’t think about what I used to record it. I just want to see a good quality video.

That has something to do with pressing loop and it will stay in sync.

Yeah it could be the computer. It could possibly be your harddrive. Most computers now are equipped with a better graphics card and better harddrive.

Cut the wire on the original microphone, add the 3.5mm female connector and use any microphone you want, easy and simple solution

Lately I've been using the Samsung u3 64 sd card
Tq ..oh forget to mention that i use only 16gb .....is that one the problem too .....or this camera should use 64gb sd card only
It may! Akaso said that the 64g is required at a minimum. Also the quality of the sd card need to be up to speed to match the action camera

What is the suitable SD card for v50x?
I've been using several different kinds. However Akaso recommends Samsung U3 sd cards. 64 or 120 would be ok

They do, but you can use the 128gb. I mostly use the 128gb.

It could be a problem with the camera. Quick question is it saying that with all your sd cards.

Just make sure you are putting the SD card correctly.

You may have to reach out to Akaso to insure you are using the correct sd card or get a new action camera

To be honest, I almost never shoot in 4k. 2.7 is my go to resolution
Ken Robertson That’s the setting on the camera, but the actual video has a much lower resolution. At 1024x576 , it’s just a step above DVD quality.

I’ve heard the audio on these gets out of sync with the video after about 10 minutes. Have you noticed this?
I have. I notice it a lot if you shoot in 4k. However I did a video using the external microphone. The microphone makes a big difference

I like it better because of the stability. I played around with the SE but sent back because the brave 7 is supposed to be better than both.
