It's fantastic to see what can be done from small beginnings, I wish them well. A nice bonus of Sledmere and Fimber Station platform, the next time I'm passing I'll pop in for a few photos.

Great video, its nice to see this railway progressing. I visited a few years ago they just had the shunter moving a very short distance which you could drive, i drove it and have the mug to prove it, they had the museum then but it looks a lot better now. I will have to visit again. As far as i know you are the only one that has done a video on the railway apart from the photos and clips on their website.

    • @WobblyRunner

Excellent. The driving experience there is on my wish list for next year. Cracking value isnt it. Looking forward to seeing the railway grow over the next few years.

Great video Paul thanks for this. Open day on the 17 September was brilliant about 180 people turned up along with Look North reporter Jake Zuckerman and a 2 minute report on BBC1 that night. Signal box being tiled presently. 👍🏼

what dedicated team to restore this railway line nice to see it being put back to working order well done talking about signal boxes at chartham Kent there was a working signal box was only used for the crossing gates in the end when it was automated the villagers wanted it kept so network rail painted it up and it looks great 👍

The whole route from Driffield to Malton is a little gem, though the tunnel upkeep would have been a bit more involved, there is still scope to expand on the remaining few sections to the east of Fimber Halt.
A very scenic setting for a heritage railway start up. 🙂👍

I've seen the engine at HMP Lindholme in South Yorkshire. People may wonder what it was doing there. At the time the prison had a track safety and track laying course. The engine had being used from time to time in the early days to run up and down the short length of track that was put together.

Why on earth would a deisel shunter go to prison in Doncaster?
Love the mk1 brake van, but it seems odd that a mk 2 passenger coach was purchased as it is totally out of character.
